Chapter 29: The War God

'Wait, I can simulate again?'

[Precisely. You can.]

'But how, didn't everyone simply die? Didn't I fail the simulation?'

[Precisely, host. You nearly failed the simulation once, causing the total ending. Since the checkpoints have been saved, you can travel back to the point and start over.]

'That means...'

[Affirmative. That means you can still fix and reach a happy ending.]

Bozo couldn't have asked for anything more. At the moment, luck was on his side.

'How many checkpoints have been saved and at what time?'

[Three checkpoints have been saved. The latest one was before you headed to the battlefield, and the earliest is simply the starting of the simulation where you simulated as Chilly for the first time.]

'Ah? So if I restart from the first, then what will happen to all the reputation, trust, friendship, and honor that I had gotten?'

[They will be reset.]

'What about Laiya?'

[She will forget everything that had happened between you two. Do you still want to take this risk to save the Ogres?]

[Yes/No]

Bozo didn't contemplate any longer. He looked at the options and simply murmured, "Yes" right after which, started another simulation!

[Your head hurts. It was as if someone had opened your cranial vault/brain cap and was continuously piercing the brain matter with a steel rod, churning it to make tofu. You moved your left hand and caressed the back of your head, the pain was real.]

[You then turned to your left and noticed something bizarre. The previous body that you had stimulated in, was lying on the ground with Hobgoblins surrounding it.]

[You realized that you had successfully simulated again as Chilly.]

[You controlled your urges to jump in joy as you didn't want to be perceived as an idiot, but at the same time, you couldn't afford not to, as the Hobgoblins had started to walk towards you, noticing your weird head-fidgeting.]

[They turned towards you and started running. The grin on their faces never looked eviler.]

[But your face, now a mix of a smile and grim along with saliva and mucus, looked ten times more horrifying.]

[You felt the club with your fingers and formed a tight grip around the handle.]

[Before the Hobgoblins could showcase their skills, you used your badass skills to torment them. As the Hobgoblins jumped in the air to attack you, you employed the skill "Giant’s Stride," which provided a temporary increase in your speed. Like a flash, you vanished and appeared behind the hobgoblins, facing them. You noticed that the hobgoblins were confused about your seeming disappearance, not realizing you had appeared behind them.]

[With anger fueling your muscles, you swung the club with your previous experience and killed the hobgoblins with just one attack.]

[Your extraordinary speed had caught the attention of many, but you didn't care. Right now, you had tons of things to focus on. However, a smirk did appear on your face right after you wiped the saliva and mucus.]

[You have killed 12 hobgoblins.]

['Now, a horde should be running towards me... what's my level again?' You took a look at your current level, which was Lv.28.]

[The incoming horde of 152 goblins was good enough for you to level up many times!]

[Just like earlier, a brother of yours who stood close to you mentioned about the horde: “Brother, what you did was extraordinary. But you have to continue doing so. I sense 150 goblins approaching. Please try to take out at least 20.” An ogre half the height as yours approached you and relayed the orders of the general.]

[You didn't reply. Take down only 20? That was small. You knew you could do a lot more, and you were going to do exactly that.]

[Saving the berserker skill for last, you used Giant's Stride, limited tactical awareness, and adaptive regeneration all together as you ran straight towards the horde.]

[You have killed 1 goblin.]

[You have killed 7 goblins.]

[You have killed 3 goblins.]

[You have killed 20 goblins.]

[You have-]

[You went on with the massacre for about five minutes within which you killed a total of 151 goblins. You stomped them when some begged for mercy, you ripped their abdomen as they tried to escape, and you tore their mouths with your bare hands to show your dominance.]

[Amidst the pile of dead bodies and scattered organs, you noticed the final goblin who tried to control its breath.]

[You moved your gigantic hand towards it. As the shadow of your arm fell on the goblin, its instincts screamed out loud, yet it didn't move. The screams of its mates and friends were horrifying enough, but the silence now was much scarier.]

[The tip of your index finger touched the goblin's head, but even now it didn't react. It pretended to be dead, hoping that you wouldn't find out. You realized this desperation... you too once were in a similar situation! You knew how terrified the goblin was. But at the moment, you offered nothing more than pity.]

["Blame your weakness," with a dominant voice, you addressed the goblin before garnering the strength of your muscles that got ignited with rage and crushed the goblin's head simply with the help of your fingers.]

["Kwaaakkk!" the goblin's eyeballs popped out as its tongue stuck out in a weird manner. Its teeth went flying here and there as blood scattered almost everywhere.]

[You have killed a goblin.]

Ding!

[You have killed a total of 152/152 goblins from the horde.]

Ding!

[For completing the secret quest: Massacre of the hordes, you have received the rewards: Full recovery, +1 level up, +10 Stat points.]

[You may redeem them whenever you feel like. They will be stored temporarily in the 'rewards' section.]

[You couldn't help but stare at the system screen momentarily, realizing that there was indeed something called as 'secret missions.' This gave you the motivation to excel in things! You wanted to explore more, but you didn't have much time at the moment. Each second was necessary.]

[You simply turned back as you recalled how some goblin ambushers pretended to be dead in some piles. They were your next target... but with the sudden growth of your body and levels, and disappearance of that jiggly belly of yours, you appeared like a Chad!]

[The sweat added to the heat of the surrounding made it appear as if you were steaming. This steam was misinterpreted as killing intent by many while some considered it aura.]

[However, you didn't care. You didn't care how others looked at you in awe. You didn't care about their respect. You didn't care how half of them had bitten their nails off as they witnessed your battle... You didn't care as they called you, the savior. You didn't care as they labeled you, THE WAR GOD!]
