POV Eliza

After the boss fight, we calmly looked around the room. The monster corpses disappeared immediately, so we couldn't make trophies from them. The only thing left in the room was a large chest and a stele that were created right after the battle.

“There is our first stele. What will happen if we touch her?” <Lynn>

“The only way we can find out is to touch them. I’ll start.” <Ken>

“Be careful.” <Lynn>

Ken walked up to the stele and touched it. He stood in the pose for about a minute and then let go of the stele.

"And what happened?" <Lynn>

“I got my development point and was able to improve a skill. I chose Body Development.” <Ken>

“Then let’s all touch the stele.” <Eliza>

The others all touched the stele one after the other and it was my turn last. I put my hand on the stele and was a little surprised. I was expecting something more spectacular. Instead, a kind of selection menu popped up in my mind listing my skills. First came the skills in which I had already gained enough EXP so that they could be upgraded. They were highlighted in green. In the middle there were skills in yellow and at the bottom there were skills in red. I already knew in advance that you couldn't upgrade every skill in this dungeon. The skills in red were most likely the ones unable to upgrade, but what were the ones in yellow? A closer look at these skills showed me that they were skills that could be upgraded, but in which I didn't have the necessary EXP. Interestingly, Pain and Poison Resistance were also there. I always thought they couldn't be upgraded. But I was curious, so I selected Poison Resistance and actually got asked if I wanted to upgrade this skill. Then the selection menu disappeared and my thoughts went back to the others.

“Did you have so much difficulty deciding? It took you quite a long time.” <Lynn>

“Hmm, yes, I did. But in the end I made a choice.” <Eliza>

“All right, now the chest. Our first treasure! Come on, come on, I want to know what's in it." <Ken>

“Stay calm, Ken. We'll take a look right away. Wasn’t it, Eliza?” <Lynn>

"Sure, don't be hasty. I have some experience with pick locks. Let’s see first if the chest is even locked.” <Eliza>

I turned to the chest, but not before checking my status. And I actually had Poison Resistance on Advanced with the necessary 10000/10000 EXP. Was it that easy to increase resistance? But why wasn't this knowledge widespread? There had to be a requirement somewhere that I didn't know about. I had to pay closer attention to the next stele. I felt like I couldn't ask others because either they didn't know the answer or it was secret knowledge. I was also afraid that it had something to do with my hero title which I had to hide to avoid being discovered.

I then approached the chest and sensed danger. There seemed to be a trap here. I instructed the others to keep their distance and examined the chest. Then I set about disarming the trap. Luckily it was just a simple trap that I was able to defuse. But that also means for us that we had to expect traps from now on. It took me about half an hour to investigate and disarm the trap. Inside we found some very interesting things. In addition to money, we found a sword, a dagger, mail armor and two potions. My ability in Identify Item was now sufficient to identify the items. The two potions were a weak healing potion and a weak poison healing potion. I gave both to the others. The dagger turned out to be a magical dagger with an increased chance of hitting and extra damage. Meanwhile, Lynn identified the sword and mail armor. Unfortunately, neither was magical and was given to Ronnen, who was able to use it to improve his equipment. In addition to the dagger, I received a larger share of the money. We then left the boss room and the dungeon via the portal. In the evening we celebrated our success in the red deer.

In the meantime, with the heroes:

“Our search for a scout isn't going as well as I'd hoped. So far no one has come forward who is suitable.” <Cornelius>

“Hmm, that could be because we set our requirements too high.” <Javier>

“So far we are only looking for men under the age of 20 who are neither mercenaries nor adventurers and who are not in the service of the crown.” <Ansgar>

“No women!” <Eleonore>

“Hmm, it doesn’t help, we have to expand our search. Otherwise we won’t find anyone else this year and our time here will be wasted.” <Javier>

“Okay, let’s try it. We are expanding our search to include women and adventurers. I don't want to change anything about age because I don't think it would change anything." <Cornelius>

“No women.” <Eleonore>

“Oh come on, Eli, you are and will always be the most important person to me. Nothing will change that.” <Cornelius>

“Hmm, he’s right, sis. We also have to think about our efficiency and act accordingly. We only have a few weeks left until we have to go back to Lightburgh. Then our paths will part again anyway.” <Javier>

“Hmph, but only under protest.” <Eleonore>

“I don’t care, the main thing is that we get stronger.” <Ansgar>

“Then it’s decided. We put up notices to support the crier. In the meantime, we continue to go to the dungeon to train." <Cornelius>

“Can we at least take a day’s rest? I want to go shopping with you.” <Eleonore>

"Agreed. But you're still trying hard for that, okay, Eli?" <Cornelius>

“I’ll do anything for you, Corni.” <Eleonore>

With the smile Eleonore was showing to them every man and several women als well would be smitten.
