The next morning, I woke up to a man opening the door to my room, he kinda made his way in explaining he needed to be quick.

After getting in and closing the door, he began to explain to situation.

"Sorry to intrude like this, its not good to wonder why someone is outside of your apartment this early. But you will put this mask and jacket on and follow me to the elevator, and we will go to the changing room to get you ready for the field test, you will do this by yourself later."

I nodded and put the mask and jacket on, and we left for the elevator.

After entering the elevator, he showed me that just beside the edge of the panel where the speaker was, is a button, this button will stop the elevator for 1 minute unless the correct number is put into the number pad, if a correct number was entered, you would be taken to the Explorer floor.

After pressing the button to stop the elevator, he had me turn around to ensure I didn't know his code, and after he entered it, we started to go up.

"While the explorer floor is technically floor 1, it is hidden and the Floor 1 that everyone else knows is really the second floor. After we get to the top, there may be a Green light or a Red light on the door, if there is, we wait until it is green, it should never take more than a minute for it to change to green."

Thankfully there was already a green light, so we entered and he told me to close the door and press the button, to which I did. and I heard the door lock, so it was likely red right now.

After doing that, I turned and saw him pointing me to a door, there was a number of doors here, with a few of them closed so I entered the door all the way on the left.

"Ok, this is where we split up, you will have your Temporary Exo Suit in there to change into, the name on the suit is what your will go by today, we don't share names here, so only use that name. And from this point on, I will likely never see you again. I wish you luck in your exploration!"

"Thank you." I nodded and closed the door to the room, it was a simple room with a sofa, a table and a big case.

I walked over to the case and opened it, and loved every inch of what I saw.

The suit was much like that you would see of an astronaut, and the helm looked a lot newer then the one I still had in my room.

I start putting the suit on and find the body suit of it was One size fits all, and formed to my body after I had zipped it up.

I pulled on the boot that fit snug and comfortable but we heavy, and the gloves felt very thin, like that wouldn't keep out the cold, I just hope they are good.

As I was messing with the helmet, I saw it had a few internal ports on the inside along the visor, so I unzipped my suit for now and pulled my arm out of the suit for a moment, I hooked the pirk up the the helmet to register it, and when it was done, I unhooked it and got back into my suit and zipped it, now putting on the helmet.

As I had put on the helmet, It showed some instructions on the visor, such as the backs of the gloves were like touch keyboards and allowed me to interact with the helmets computer, and I set a feed of my Pirk in the top right of my helmet for now, but kept it small. 

The visor was showing information on how the suit worked and everything, even that the jaw section of the helmet would move forward and up out of the way for me to eat.

I couldn't imagine that would work well with facial hair, but thankfully I liked the clean shaven look, so no issue for me.

Displayed in the Top left of the visor looked to be the Comms and I was labeled as "Green"

After seeing this I headed toward the other door in the room and went through. 

In the new room I saw 2 other people in suits and one was approaching me.

"Good job rook, you weren't the last one. I am fit and ready, whats your call?" The voice from the suit sounded Feminine but I won't put that against them, if they are my lead, they could likely run circles around me.

"My call? Like Callsign, I guess its green."

"Good, you found that, and it matches the name on the suit so we know the system is all good. I am Anubis and I will be your Saftey net, we will be going up with a list, and you need to get at least 50% of what is on the list to pass."

"Ok, what do we need to bring with us?"

"Damn, your noticed quick, around this corner, grab one big bag and a Sack of water."

I did just that and came back around, to a man it sounded like talking to my Lead.

"Wow, lucky one there, won't have to ration that way, well good luck Anubis."

"Yea yea, get going Snoopy. Rook, set the bags in the Pod to the left with mine and join channel 4 for comms."

"Ok" She sounded like she didn't want to have to repeat herself at all, so I made quick work of it, and sat in a seat while I fiddled with the controls to join comms.

"very good, some don't get the controls as well, and take a while to do that. Strap into that seat and I will explain while I get us ready to assend."

I did strap in, which was just a 3 point harness like a race care, and she was whipping around the pod like she was posessed pressing buttons, closing the pod door, and explaining.

"In a moment as we are ascending, I will send you the list and you can review what you need, and what you want to try and get. There are 6 items on the List, anything below 3 items retrieved and you fail, anything more, you get a pat on the back."

With her saying that, she sighed a bit as she set down in her chair and did one strap before pressing a big button.

It wasn't even a second after her pressing that button that we started to go up, at a slow pace.

"Ok, heres the list, we have about 10 minutes to the surface, but the speed will start increasing in a moment, so just relax."

The list was actually a lot easier that I had though, "Iron of 2 lbs or more, Any digital storage device, a Mostly clear Chunk of Ice 2lbs or more, Any Enchanted item, Any Food item, Knowledge"

A few of those can actually be gotten pretty easily, but the iron, knowledge and storage device are specific, so I would want to focus on these likely.

"How long is the Field test?"

"There isn't a time limit, just a supplies limit, we have food and water enough for each of us to stay up here for 2 days."

"Ahh, so if we ration, we can stay for 4 days?" 

"Ugg yes, but we better not waste time and get some good stuff, just remember, you may be looking for the items on the list, but we are also explores, so if there is something we can get, and its good. We need to get it."

"Understood."

Another 2 minutes and we arrived at the top, Anubis slung the strap off of her and went over to her pack. "Eat and drink enough for a full day, we will go out after and stay out as long as we can, with it being so early, we should tons of time."

I did just that and got the food and water and was about to start taking my helmet off when I saw Anubis Slide the jaw of her helmet forward and up and start eating like this, so I did the same. 

It was a little weird just setting there, so I offered something to do "Well, if we are gonna eat for a while, is there a way I can play a video for you on your visor?"

"Yea, you would just drag it do the Person you want to share it with, or the Group Title itself, and it will play live for everyone and people can pause it. But why did you want to know?"

Without answering I queued up a show I had come to like, it was an animated show, and it was a comedy, so it was fun to watch while we ate.

When were were finished with the episode, we had already finished with out food and were just finishing the episode at that point, Anubis asked. "How did you get files added to your suit? I though that was your temp suit."

"it is, I have something of a wireless Media device and scanner I created and it can function like a tablet, so I just registered it before I put my Suit on."

"Very nice, I had already watched the two things I have uploaded, so we can watch whatever you have left tonight."

"I don't know if we can get through much, the device I have has all the shows and movies available currently in the stacks saved on it as backup."

Anubus sat for a second, "Your telling me, you have all, as in everything that is available to watch, in a device on your? Why would you need all that?"

"I mean, I use it to store scans of books as well, so I don't have to go to the library as often, I actually have multiple Libraries worth of books in the device as well, from just about every Subject."

"Ok, we can talk about your Miracle device later, Jaw lock and lets go."

The jaw of the helmet locked into place, and I said over comes "Jaw locked"

Anubis nodded before turning back around and opening the pod door.

It was darker than I would have thought, I got out of the pod and look up.

There were thick clouds for as far as the eye could see.

It turns out we are on a smallish mountain in comparison to the ones I see very far off in the distance.

But what really catches my eye, is the absolutely massive city I see sprawled out across the horizon about 2 miles out.

And I just couldn't wait to dig my teeth in!
