The main character and will often be the narrator of events. They became able to physically change sex starting at 12 years old and so grew up with the lived experience of both. It's important to note that the gender change is complete. Meaning they go from 100% male to 100% female, including all reproductive functions.

Their power is not without detriments, however, and has some caveats. While they are normally able to switch freely, they are forcibly transformed into a female as part of their monthly cycle. Aside from that, when their emotions reach more extreme levels, they spontaneously change sex as a self-defense mechanism.
