Michael Ray Thompson was your average middle-class American man, suffering the fate of most isekai, time-looping litRPG main characters. I'll give you three guesses on what exactly that means.

Ding ding ding! He died! However, rather than finding himself transported to some fantasy realm where the local women fawn over him for no good reason or a futuristic cityscape where he's granted God-given powers, Michael wakes up in HELL.

How could this be? He wondered. He'd been to church at least three times and was baptized as a child, so how the HELL was he in... well, HELL!?

It turns out Michael Ray Thompson's death wasn't the only event that took place at 3:00 PM on a random Tuesday afternoon. Across the country, a death row inmate who shared the same name, though he preferred to go by Mike, was executed at the exact same as Michael's accident. This kinda sorta caused a mix-up within the afterlife department and both of them were sent to HELL, causing both of their souls to occupy and share the same physical form.

In order to fix this mix-up, the two of them... or, I guess the one of them? Anyway, Michael and Mike, living in the same body, are forced to climb Tartarus (a fancy word for HELL) in order to sort out this entire ordeal. However, climbing the infernal tower isn't as easy as it sounds since demons, minions, monsters, beasts, and any other synonym of those words that you can think of are all waiting for them on each floor to maim them! Which sucks!
