I never thought I would get to watch the collapse of civilization in real time. Yet, here I am. One of the survivors of an apocalypse that no one quite understands. All we know is that something is in the water. Every river, lake, stream, ocean, sea, well, ditch, puddle. You name it. All of it has been infected by something. It was happening for months before solid rain fell from the sky. I don't mean snow or hail. I mean crystalized rain.

It was the solid rain that sparked the changes. First were animals that mutated. Then it was humans. Governments tried to keep things quiet but word began to get out. Stories of people lighting things on fire with their minds. Of others crushing stones with their bare hands. But it wasn't just fancy powers that people got. Some became freakish monsters. Some even turned into cannibalistic zombie-like monstrosities. Me? I don't really know, all I know is I have somehow survived.

But I suppose, it just doesn't matter anymore.
