The Battle of Karimata Strait was a naval engagement fought on the 24th of December 1941 and fought between Dutch and Japanese forces on the Karimata Strait, just several miles off the island of Lemukutan. The battle was fought over on stormy seas and its battle was a minor positive footnote on the disaster that would be of the Dutch East Indies campaign.
