Hannah Ellis, a perfectly ordinary girl, moves to Abbott street with two suitcases and a rickety bike in hopes of one day leaving her cafe job and becoming a nurse in turn-of-the-century London. From there, Hannah begins her perfectly ordinary life living in the little home owned by her perfectly ordinary (albeit grumpy) landlord.
Just as Hannah begins to feel like home can be right where you make it to be, she witnesses something not-so perfectly ordinary, and ends up meeting an extraordinary boy who pulls her into a strange, mysterious world that thrums along silently just underneath her own reality's nose.
Tasked with the impossible of saving both her friends and her city from a dangerous man who wants to choke power out of the innocent to procure total immortality, Hannah delves into an adventure that threatens to end the world as she knows it should she run out of precious time.
