A towering wall separates two worlds, one rich in knowledge and technology, the other plagued by ignorance and savagery. It never used to be like that. Humans lived in tranquility and unity in the City of Ionia, a utopia where minimal crime and violence occurred. Those who stirred up crime and violence were labeled as sinners. More sinners emerged, jeopardizing peace. Because of this, the city decided to exile every sinner to the other side of the walls. The City of Ionia created SCAR, a brutal organization that combats and handles sinners within their city and sometimes outside the walls.

In the present day, the outside world is hell for Jill. All her life, she has been locked in a dark hell, only wishing for one thing: freedom. She meets Raphtalia, a girl in the same situation as her. Raphtalia’s dream is to unite the two worlds and abolish the wall. Amazed by her words, Jill vows to help her achieve Raphtalia’s dream. Jill’s wish became a reality one day, though it cost her friend’s life. Free from the shackles, she walks the world, trying to find a way to unite the two worlds together.
