A dollar is divided into 100 pfennigs (sometimes slangily called "fen"). Coins exist in denominations of 1 pfennig, 10 pfennigs (a "groat"), and quarter, half, and whole dollars; larger denominations are available only as banknotes.

In practice, the definition of “cultural significance” is so broad that the majority of drinking places operate as faukas.
