If you've played Prey (2017) and loved it, you should read this. If you haven't, go do that! It's really good! And then come back and read this, because it's excellent!
Note that this follows the events aboard Talos I, and refers back to said events frequently. If you haven't played Prey, you will encounter spoilers in pretty short order, and may have a harder time making sense of this story.
This was one of the first of Ela's stories I read and, as a shorter piece, I think it serves as a pretty good introduction to the rest of her work in terms of style and proficiency.
