An immortal and inhuman race of creatures who have two forms - that of a human, and the animal they protect and defend. They have only recently come forth to humanity in an event called the Emergence, but they have lived in this world for a very long time.

An Amaranthine's human form shows only small differences from normal humanity. The most common trait is pointed ears, but other traits can include claws, horns, and tails. Their animal form is identical to, but significantly larger than, the animal they take their traits from.

Amaranthine species include, but is hardly limited to: Foxes, Horses, Wolves, Dragons, Phoenix, Dogs, Squirrels, Peacocks, and Deer.
