While on vacation with her eternal friend Kiara Takanashi, a phoenix who is madly in love with her, grim-reaper-on-hiatus Calliope Mori begins to realize that the clock is ticking, and that her past is about to catch up with her. Her flashbacks dig up a lot of abuse and trauma that she'd long tried to hide, and it begins to foreshadow the fate that awaits her at the end of it all.

I want to be clear that this story is going to get seriously tragic. This is a story that, once it gets going, is going to be about torturous abuse. I feel like I normally don't get too dark with my stories; I don't think about age ratings while I write, but I feel I usually hit a teen rating. This is not that. I don't think it's possible to realize my vision for this story without delving into very serious territory.
