Maxine was always traveling going were ever the wind took her. That all changed when she was walking in a park one day only to have a few gangbangers pull a knife on her to rob her. She fought back only to have one of her assailants accidently stab her. This led to them all stabbing her and killing her. She awakens in a tent on a mountain side where she lives with her air bending Master. Keeping it secret until she is strong enough to take in her own student or get revenge for the death of the air benders.
