A honest and frank girl who was raised on the firm values of the north- cooperation and honor. Has a close friendship with Princess Adelheidis, despite it being frowned upon by most members of the Velzan aristocracy. After remembering events from her past life as Orlane, her destiny will change significantly.

Originally a commoner, her mother worked in the castle as a scullery maid, which is how she became acquantainced with Prince Gilbert. At some point in time she was taken in by Count Narcian Roche and made his heiress, becoming Orlane Roche.

She fell deeply in love with Prince Gilbert and vowed to do anything for him, only for her to get betrayed and given life imprisonment under charges of high treason. In despair at the fact her beloved prince didn't believe in her innocence, she hung herself and swore that if she were reborn, she would destroy everything Gilbert held dear as payback for his betrayal.

Usually, after souls reincarnate, they lose all their memories and begin life anew. But the strength of Orlane's grudge was so strong, fragments of her memory clung into her soul long after being reincarnated, and her current incarnation, Cecelia awoke to them when she was 13 years old.

First Princess of the Velzan Empire and the only daughter of Emperor Gilbert and his wife, Empress Lucrezia. Leonidas's and Albert's younger sister.

A gentle soul, she is a cowardly girl who dislikes violence and deeply believes in the fundamental goodness of others. She is a staunch pacifist and is at odds with her more severe older brothers, who dismiss her as a naive. 

Despite objections from the people around her, she befriended Cecelia, and the two have been inseparable ever since. 

She's the most important person in Cecelia's life apart from her family, and she wishes to protect her from any harm.

47th Kaiser of the Velzan Empire, and father of Leonidas, Albert and Adelheidis, as well as husband of Lucrezia. After the death of his father, he took the throne, but a sudden poisoning left him a coma for 6 months, during which Orlane took control of the Empire and caused a war against the Kingdoms of Etruria and Ludmer. After waking up from his coma, he personally imprisoned Orlane, but instead of executing her, he sentenced her to life imprisonment.

A stoic, harsh man, he rules his people with an iron fist. Under his rule, the Velzan Empire has greatly expanded it's territory to a 20% and it's currently at it's second Golden Age, where technologies and arts are flourishing. That is, however, a facade. The lower classes are still suffering under the tyranny of the corrupt nobility, but it remains to be seem if he's truly unaware of this or if he's simply too scared to change the status quo.

Despite his flaws, he's a decent father to his children, if a little distant.

Considers Celia a valuable political asset, and while distrustful of the idea of a savage northerner like her hanging around his only daughter, he warmed up to it because he could potentially use their bond to manipulate her.

The object of Orlane's deepest hatred and love, it's rumoured the two were lovers. Present day, he has forbidden any utterance of her name within the palace walls, and anyone who breaks this rule is harshly punished.
