There is a world called the terminal world in which the tattered spirits reside. Certain people can call upon the spirits of the terminal world, and bring the power of these spirits into the world of Terminus.
Such people are known as cultivators.

Hailing from a small yet powerful cultivation clan, Astrel is a new cultivator who has just started learning the ropes. His absolute inability to form spirit pillars causes him to be looked down upon by his clan, and his ability to tame beasts just makes this worse.

Without a family, and supported only by a small handful of tamed creatures, he has to survive in his clan, while protecting the things he most cares about, in hopes that one day he will be able to form his spirit pillars and escape to a larger world.
