All Marianne wanted was to help others the way her grandfather did, but her life didn't go as she wished. Having to try to live up to her parents expectations and wishes, she spontaneously combusts walking home from the lessons her parents picked out for her. It had been due to a god's mistake and he felt just awful. To make it up to her, he sends her to another world where he is acquainted with a pantheon of gods.
She asks them to give her a loving family and healing and medicine-making abilities to help others. And so she is reincarnated as Ella, but things don't go as she had hoped...

Her mother Rosabella passes away in labor due to a plot by one of her father's other wives and her father grows to resent Ella. She is mistreated and abused by her sisters and mothers until finally, they decide to burn her to ash. Finally ridding themselves of her for good.

A wandering, self-serving god named Zolotl comes across the scene. He decides to take advantage of the situation. He revives Ella and makes her become a saint in his name in order to gain a foothold in the pantheon.

Arisen from the ashes, Ella is given the name "Cinderella" and uses her new life in service of Zolotl and to fulfill her dream of helping others.
