Wow! I can't believe this hasn't been snatched up as a manga/anime series yet! This was one of the best books I've read in a long time! The way the author weaves in small descriptions here and there and the way they write their stories are just chefs kiss!
I honestly can't wait to read more! I highly recommend you give this one your full time and attention!
I've read "Sword Witch" about five times now. So, as you can tell, I kind of like this story.
On the surface, it's a magical girl story. But, underneath, it's much, much more. Sure, you have the pretty gals in their leotards and skirts, and you have the nebulous demons opposing them. But then you get the hints that something more is going on. Although the demons are scary, the pair of Darling and Dear are the ones that creep me out the most.
I love all five of the magical girls. I had to reread some parts of it to get the interactions between them to see the deeper levels than just the surface.
Spoiler
One example is that Haru and Nariko have been best friends for a long time and Haru is an Empath. When Riko is suddenly in Nariko's body doesn't know and actively dislikes Haru it cuts her deep.
[collapse]
I could wax poetic about all of the girls and their personalities, but I would just suggest you read it.
The author releases in batches of 5 chapters and I really want to read the next five.
