When Ash was very young, she stumbled into another world. Another dimension. But when she got back by means out of her control, she started to see things. See things that no one else can see. She had translucent horns on her head, bones of the dead littered the night with mask wearing doberman-like dogs hunting them throughout nightfall, and small fuzzy creatures that liked to wear left socks as some kind of weird fashion statement were the few wonders Ash could see that remained unseen to the rest of the ordinary world. And she had to learn the hard way that normal people weren't receptive to her seeing the unknown.

Some time later when Ash is ten, she finds herself in that other world again, but how she finds her way back home will alter the fates of not just her reality but all the worlds in their entirety.
