Synopsis

The MC is forced into the military in a fantasy setting and rises through the ranks in Roman-themed fantasy setting while hiding his true abilities. The story tries to add some realism and believability to the normal far-fetched fantasy tropes.

    Status: chapter 51essence thief

Chap. 38 Story is well written and very few grammar or spelling mistakes. Easy to read. The concept of the story and design of the world are interesting. At this point it is very slow moving but is introducing new concepts of the world. Only issue is the MC is kind of more submissive and reserved at this point. This can change obviously as time passes. There appears to be a misconception of military life, training, etc. Those parts just feel a little forced, rushed, and written by someone who doesn't know about the life. Not something easily changed but only detracts from the story a little. You wouldn't recognize this unless you were military as well. Over all the story is good. Lots of potential with the future of the story. Chap 51 the combat and battle sequences are really throwing the story off, they don't match well with someone who was trained or experienced combat. He is too reserved about killing. Some aspects about military life and actual combat are not matching up. Throws me off. Well written still, more drama style than action.
