After dying and ending up in a world of heroes and villains, refusing to participate in all of that costume drama, our protagonist decided to stay close enough to the crazy to not be forcibly dragged into super-powered shenanigans just because he has powers, but far enough away to stay away from the world ending danger.
Of course, things just never work out how we would like them to.
