Character:

Su Meiyue: She is our FL and 14 years old. She lost her father at the age of 5 and is bought up by her uncle's family. she is an introvert and has minor trust issues. She is respectful and decisive but is quite naive and docile. She is close with her second paternal cousin Su Jiyue.

Su Jiyue: She is Su Fengming's only di daughter and is 16 years old. she is quite mature for her age and very intelligent. Witnessing all the hardship and difficulties her mother faced made her hate men and the idea of getting married. She thinks of Meiyue as her own sister and cares for her sincerely.

Su Fengming: the current head and second master of the Su family. He used to be a magistrate in Jiangnan but recently got promoted to the Ministry of Work. He is FL's second uncle and adoptive father. Kind in personality, he is a righteous and uptight person. He genuinely cares for fl and even without everyone's opposition, he adopted fl to support her as a father,

Su Dafuren Wei shi: The wife of Su Fengming and the lady of the Su family. She puts her children above everything even fl and can go to any extent to support them. initially disliking the idea to adopt FL, she doesn't care much about her but  bought her up like her daughter.

Feiyu: Meiyue's high-ranked maid

Feiru: Meiyue's high-ranked maid

Zheng Huizhong: Our ML. He is the nephew of the current empress and the heir of Marquise Hui'an. He belongs to a general family and is a trusted companion of the crown prince.
