I don't know if the author posts on other sites too, but there seems to be minimal engagement on this site. Which is a shame, honestly because the story is interesting.

We're in a post apocalyptic setting, after an event changes at least the part of the world our MC lives in. It kind of feels like an alternate earth, but it's only hinted at, not explicitely stated.

World building is slow, but explained well. Our MC is capable, but slightly naive at times. Raised in relative high society as a medic, on the cusp of graduating from a combat medic / ER nurse sort of level to a full surgeon / healer type of level. Then the excrement hits the spinning air flower thingy and the world changes. We go to post apocalyptic and MC's journey to not only survive, but grow.

I like the MC. Like I said, bit naive, but capable. Bit of a hero / savior complex, but that's probably tied in to his wanting to be a healer. He gets more pragmatic and combat capable as time goes on. His medical background means he's very analytical where his approach to dealing with enemies is. Study, find a weakness, exploit. Fun to read how the author manages to describe that in an interesting manner.

The sidekick is a robotic orb called a C.H.A.D.D. Think E-DE from Fallout New Vegas, but smarter, can talk and has enough snark to make Monty Python sit up and take notice.

Other humans are mostly relegated to side characters. Sofar this has been a Lone Wanderer type story. Might change in the future, but it's mostly the MC and C.H.A.D.D.

Story seems to mostly focus on MC's trying to grow stronger and to better understand the way the world has changed and his place in it. I'm looking forward to reading more.
