Location
Big Island

The central landmass of Terra, located near the original epicenter of the original reality-reshuffling cataclysm, aka: Big Island. Long story short, the original settlers who named the place, for lack of creativity, just stuck with big everythings. Big Bog, Big Bay, Big Forest.

Looks like a big ol' crescent moon, or a cookie with a bite taken out of it, or the letter C. Surrounded by rings of peacks that gently curve inward, as though climbing an invisible dome (for all we know, there very likely is an invisible bubble of something there), it's about the size of Before Then-Greenland or Ohio. Mount Big lays at the center of it all, only occasionally exploding.

Many cities lay scattered about the varied environments of the island, the largest, as capitals are wont to do, being, of course, Big City, home to the Superbium HQ.

Big City

Big City lays along the shores of Big Island, with bustling sea traffic all across not only Big Bay, but globally as well. The capital city of Terra. Home to Superbium HQ.

The Margins

That space between dimensions, the home of Unreality. Imagination and will is king here, but be careful! If you're not protected or adapted, Unreality will tear you apart! Simultaneously nothing, everything, Here, There, both now and then, it is a place of shifting eldritch abstraction. Concepts made physical, myths and legends made manifest, thoughts and intent. Oh, and a few bajillion demons who call the place home but hey, who's keeping track, eh?

Me, that's who. And a bajillion is like, a lot of demons. Not a fun place to visit without protective gear.

Welcome to the Margins! We have: endless white void! Timeless eternities! Casual Fridays!

Superbium HQ

Like the Justice League and a fantasy Adventurer Guild had a baby, but more ubiquitous. May not be the purest of organizations. Sends out teams to gather resources, hunt or subjugate monsters, delve dungeons, fight crime, and battle supervillains on a weekly basis. Many say they have their toes in everything.

The main campus of Superbium HQ is located in Big City. You can get anything you need there, and quite a few things you don't, and if you can't make it in person, there's always their online catalog!

Items
Urtech

Urtech, or magitech, is technology that accomplishes non-mundane and fantastical feats. From freeze-rays to Quack-o-Matics, from the everyday use to the esoteric, urtech can do it all. Well, sorta. Technopaths have to make a bunch of em first half the time, and half of them are evil super villains bent on taking over the world (or, as in the case of Tommy Winnit, age 8, their own backyard).

The other half are genuine products (most the time).

Characters
Cherry Maraschino

Once a man who worked as an HQ explorer and mercenary, now a ghost girl of questionable sanity. After a deadly encounter with a chandelier in a dungeon that trapped the mans ghost within the Margins, where he signed a contract with a demon to return to Terra.

Unfortunately, as this poor soul found out, one should always read any contracts before signing them. Not only is she still dead, she's become the plaything of some creepy hat full of spiders who wants her to entertain him? It doesn't help that spider hat made a bunch of changes to her mind as well...

Sprigg

Plant... thing? Once a girl who worked in HQ's Sidekick Placement program, her barracks kinda turned into a dungeon. During her attempt to escape, she was adopted by a dryad, turning her into a plant spirit with a nifty plant body.

Coiled thorn-covered vines like scarf ends serve as both hands and body, wrapped around or retracted in around four root legs that walk through each other in a clockwise or counter clockwise pattern. Has 1-5 eyespots at any one time, made of bioluminescent green algae. Head is a dome of moss, bladderwort, butterworts, and spiraling fern leaves.

Perspective is locked to a 300m diameter around the body (or wherever the body was last), cannot see or pass through walls.

Nebula

Once a regular guy, he was on his way to college or whatever, when an Urmin used his vehicle as a projectile. Getting lost in the underground tunnels beneath Big City, he ate too much mutagenic ooze (and a few too many slime cores).

Now a purple slime filled with slime-core glitter, a silver star shaped core, and missing most of their memories, they've teamed up with Cherry and Sprigg to do monster things. Maybe find a home later too, if they get to it and survive the night.

Miscellaneous
Unreality

The stuff that makes the magic happen. Found in abundance in the Margins of Reality, has a tendency to leak through and influence places in the more unstable parts of Reality. Little is known of Unreality, or UR as it is often abbreviated, just that probabilities and statistics go absolutely insane in its presence. With skill or practice, one can learn to channel UR to change reality in oft-limited ways, be it through spells, magi-tech, or through supernatural abilities.

With luck, both good and bad, one may be changed by exposure to Unreality. This can happen accidentally, or intentionally. Mutations and powers can come about as a response to a traumatic, emotional, or life-endangering situation, but it's incredibly unpredictable.

Exposure to unfiltered or raw UR has a tendency to warp and damage minds. A select few entities can survive, even thrive, in the voids of the Margins between dimensions, the origin of Unreality.

Magic

Tamed or channeled Unreality. Usually sent through a guiding matrix or focus of some sort. Available to all, though most people are only able to channel enough to use household appliances. More serious study with magic can be had at various institutions of learning. In any given group of people above twenty, at least one is a mage.
