Born this time as Jonathan Marshall, Special Forces operative in Afghanistan. He was an Infinite, person able to reincarnate with his abilities and memories intact, and one of probably 200 that he has met over the many millennia. Most times, Infinites could not be identified, even among each other, unless they themselves reveal themselves. Even so, many were thought to be mad when they told others of their reincarnations.

Near him was Andromache "Andy" of Scythia, millennia old warrior with regenerative abilities. Randy referred to her and her kind as Immortals, of which he has met hundreds over the many years.

They had been both friends and enemies over the millennia, both mortal enemies and in Randy's recent incarnations, as lovers.

While Andy had been on the side of "good" for most of her long life, Jon on the other hand have been in his previous lives, not only heroes but also brutal villains, conquering much of the world at one time or another, oft times with Andy as part of the rebelling forces against him!

Unlike Andy and Immortals like her, whereby the only way to kill them was to decapitate them, Randy and the Infinites were very much mortal. Only they cannot be killed, because they will only reincarnate in another life.
