Synopsis

The year is 2123, and everything has gone to shit in the United States of America. The country’s infrastructure is crumbling. Politics has increasingly descended to a degree that is “beyond parody”, as some would say. To make matters worse, pride in the country has fallen to its lowest point since polling began.
Enter Manuel Coventry. At age 18 in the year 2100, he founded a company called Beantown Games in Boston, the last great city in America. This company is behind the development of Animal Antics, a massive team game in which every player has an animal avatar also known as a “Persona”, and the goal is to capture the enemy command post before the other team does.
Meanwhile, young Austin Lynch is down on his luck. He lives in a ratty old Los Angeles apartment that, much like the rest of this once-great city, has experienced a significant decline in recent decades. He works at a fast-food restaurant called the Nintendo Café making less than minimum wage. His one big passion, the one thing keeping him going, is following the Animal Antics World Championships, held annually in Boston.
Imagine Austin’s surprise when, upon making a digital purchase from the Nintendo EShop, he receives a “Silver Ticket” that gains him entry to the championship. Soon, he’s whisked off to Boston, where he will enter the tournament. However, an organized criminal syndicate threatens to blow the whole thing up, possibly literally. Can Austin and his team win the championship while trying to evade his enemies?
