Capitulo 90

"So when am I going to eat it? Right now?"

Keenan asked and waited for her answer, he gulped as he imagined the taste of the Kakaiba N-core. Fantasia stared at Keenan and the young man straightly sat up, he was indicating that he was worthy of eating the Kakaiba N-core. 

Fantasia had no emotions while staring at him, even Keenan was having a hard time comprehending her. Keenan could read her actions but when in terms of her expression, Keenan mostly fail. 

"… Let's wait for a bit."

Fantasia decided to postpone it, she was still not sure about him. 

"Okay, no problem."

Keenan nodded, he agreed that he had to exhibit a great amount of loyalty for Fantasia to trust him. A Kakaiba is not stuff that can be given easily. This crystal has the power to bestow a unique ability to a Nightbreaker. They had to treat it with importance. 

"For now, let's focus on our mission. Make sure that you look behind you, we're not sure when they are going to attack us. Especially Yua, she's ready to commit murder at any time."

"Are you sure you want to continue this mission? We already have enough N-cores, we don't have a reason to stay here."

Keenan added. This was their first mission so they don't have to force it. 

"No, I want to continue this…"

"Say, you're not hiding something from me, aren't you?" Keenan said, probing his idea. He stared at Fantasia but the woman just shook her head. 

"I don't think I hide anything important to you, I know the rules of being your Handler. If there's something that I have to say, to maintain your safety, I'll say it."

"Ah," Keenan grinned. "So you mean you're not hiding a secret that may hurt me?"

"Yes."

"Wow, so there's actually a way to dodge that question without being suspicious. Maybe I can use that sometimes."

Keenan said sarcastically, he shrugged and let it go. The sun was shining and it was time to be happy. He just had to trust her. 

"Well, since this conversation is going nowhere, I think it's better if I just go somewhere and take my time."

Keenan stood up, he left Fantasia in the cabin. Fantasia paid for this cabin for a day just to have a conversation with Yua and Charla. She was wasting money but Keenan didn't have the right to retort her. 

So instead of wasting time, he decided to have some fun. The cabin had most of the indoor recreations that he could think of, from billiards to console gaming. Keenan looked around and found a table filled with sweets. He whistled and approached the table. 

He got a plate and chose a chocolate cake to enjoy. He had a thing for chocolate.

"I can't say it…"

Fantasia muttered as she confirmed that Keenan left the room. She sat on the chair and massaged her forehead, this was starting to get confusing. 

"I can't say that I detected something when I fought the Kakaiba… I feel like Keenan intervened and protected me against the bullets, but I can't explain… That's why I have to make sure, before I gave this N-core," Fantasia squeezed the crystal in her hand. "I have to find his secret."

Fantasia was not motivated by hostility. She was motivated by curiosity, as she confirmed that Keenan has the key to solve her problem. On top of that, Keenan indeed saved her life. She won't do him bad. She bit her nail while creating a plan.

Keenan found a truck that has blue and red paint. 

"Oi, putang ina si Optimum Pride, urgh urgh urgh!!"

"..."

Fantasia sighed as she watched how this person is. 

In the afternoon, they decided to have lunch in a fast-food restaurant, Keenan was craving savory food because
he ate tons of sweets earlier. Fantasia gave him what he wanted. They chose Jollybay. 

"They say that the spaghetti in this restaurant is made of banana ketchup and hotdog! Can you freaking think of it! They used hotdog and banana ketchup for their spaghetti! What a fucking madlad!" 

Keenan slightly raised his voice as he spoke. Fantasia unintentionally nodded and gave the restaurant a passing rate of B+. It was good that this branch has fewer customers. She could eat peacefully without hearing any bogus, such as children screaming for kiddie meals and toys. She hated those kinds of kids. When she was a child, her mother taught her how to behave well so she was quite proud of herself. 

"I thought you're stomach is quite full for sweets? Why did you order ube pie and mango pie?" She narrowed her eyes. She was confused about how Keenan could eat sweet things without losing his appetite. It seemed like he has sweet tooth.

"They taste good so I want to eat them. If you want, you can choose between the ube and the mango pie. I can give it to you."

"Then give me the ube one."

"Here you go."

"Thanks."

Both of them were ready to eat their food when they heard a loud clanging of plates. They looked in the direction where the noises came from. 

"What a coincidence," Fantasia said and Keenan nodded, agreeing to what she muttered.

They found that Charla and Yua were getting harassed by a group of people. In the middle of the group, a lascivious fatty guy was licking his fingers after he grabbed a handful of potato chips. He grinned at them with lust in his eyes, particularly to Charla. 

"So where's the money?"

The fatty guy asked and took a step closer to Yua. His bad breath entered Yua's nostrils but she did not change her expression. Instead, she clenched her fists so hard while enduring his smell. 

"Give me some time, I promise you. I can pay you."

"Uh-uh." The fatty guy shook his head. "I gave you ten days and it's already over. You promised me that you will pay in another way, don't you remember?" 

"O- Of course, I remember. It's just-"

"I'm tired of hearing your excuses, take them."

The men started moving and grabbed Charla and Yua out of the restaurant. The people around them decided to close their eyes and ears as if they didn't see the abduction in front of them. Apparently, the fat guy was from a prestigious Clan. They didn't want to get caught up in the situation.
