Yes, they are not removed, just hidden, and only authors have access to them. It's so that if there was a mistake (those happen), everything can be reverted without a problem.

Also, no, there is no rule of "50%" porn; you misinterpreted it. It's basically "if there is only porn without a plot, that's not allowed." No one will check if you have 50% or more to swing that hammer; it's the content that matters.

So if there is a plot, and no other rules were broken, then it probably was automod spasming out. This happens.
