After seeing your thread, BL ended up getting my attention, so I decided to give it a chance. And since you are the one to blame for this, I intend to start with your story. 

 you also participated in the poll! That means a lot, too!

Yay at giving a chance to BL! You can start with TV Shows and anime, too, if it's easier for you! Because some of them are very easy to get into ^^

Like "Yuri on Ice" (anime) or Mo Dao Zu Shi (donghua) or Untamed (TV Show). The 1st is a sports competition anime so BL is not the main focus, and the 2 and 3 are different adaptations of the same book which is 90% mystery, 10% BL .

All three are on youtube! 

Then I' ll start with Mo Dao Zu Shi, the trailer looked really cool.

Adapted Chinese BL is usually not BL at all because they censor all truly gay stuff. It usually ends up being bromance.

So watching any adaptation of BL in China is guaranteed to not be "too BL" and most beginners like that ^^
