Chapter 43 - Clinical Visit

Nolen decided to check on the Witchdoctor infirmaries since Darga was expecting to give birth soon, and Ghal was now pregnant. He needed to make sure they were well established.

Ghal has been teaching Nolen a few things that she knows. The main focus is medicine and healing. Nolen has a basic understanding of human and humanoid anatomy and biology. This is why he saved the orc female wounded in the raid. She also taught him about totems, runes, and curses to ensure he was prepared just in case.

"We're here."

The clinic was a simple tent where patients were treated. Nolen has been supplying the Witchdoctors with herbs and other ingredients to help them make medicine and tonics. In turn, they also provided the tribe with healing potions and magic totems.

Nolen then looked around the clinic.

"Wow. This place looks a lot better than the first time."

The clinic had been cleaned and organized. There were even shelves with medicine and supplies. It was like a combination of modern and tribal medicine.

"This is quite impressive."

"I'm glad you think so. We've been working hard to improve our reserves and expand our ability to perform rituals to help the village, " she proudly said.

"That's good."

Nolen and Ghal continued to look around the clinic.

Suddenly, a goblin rushed into the clinic to bring news for Nolen.

"Chief! We have a problem!"

"What is it?"

"One of the patrols we sent to the west has returned. They request reinforcements because a horde of farel Oracnids is attacking them."

"That's not good. Those are not easy enemies."

"How many are there?"

"There are at least 300 wild Oracnid warriors."

"300... That’s quite a lot. We’ll need to send some reinforcement as soon as possible.” Ghal said with an alarmed tone.

"It'll take at least 300 Red Sun orcs and a few goblins to defeat them. Do we have enough troops?" Nolen said with a stern tone.

“We have a few warriors on stand by sir.” Said the goblin trying not to be intimidated by Nolens rising battle aura.

"We'll have to make do. I can't leave the tribe undefended. We must send 100 Red Sun orcs and 200 Red Sun goblin units. Make sure that we are mounting our own Oracnids."

"As you wish."

"Make the necessary preparations and deploy the troops."

"Yes, Chief."

The goblin messenger then left the tent and prepared the forces.

"Ghal, you stay here and prepare for any injuries. I'll also send someone to pick up any elixirs or tonics you have on hand for the war party. I'll lead the troops and handle this."

"I'll be waiting. Just be careful."

"I will."

Ghal kissed Nolen before he left.

A few minutes later, Nolen sent out his Red Sun orcs, who mounted the Orachnid Warriors while the Red Sun goblins rode the Orachnid Workers. These were his new units. Since the Orachnid Queen had been domesticated and cared for by the tribe, there was no longer a need to send its workers to gather food. Instead, the tribe used them as mounts and organic industrial machines.

The Orachnid Workers served multiple purposes; they could be used for transportation, carrying loads, or even as forklifts. They were more versatile than the Orachnid Warriors, who were larger and bulkier, making them ideal for attack mounts for the orcs due to their size. The Orachnid Workers could also be used as attack mounts by the goblins, as they were smaller and nimbler than the orc mounts.
