Chapter 6: My name… Your Name… Names.

“Using… Tre… Threabin.. Threading to, attached. Voice, what, threading-Myr? What is Threading-Myr?”

I momentarily paused reading and turned my head away from the book. Even though I knew the Voice wasn’t physically present beside me, I liked to turn my head in its direction to listen more attentively. At the same time, I caught sight of the Guardians body gathered beneath the colossal humanoid statue.

I had lost track of time; as far as I could tell, I had been vocally reading the instruction manual on creating my own body using Modular Body Frames continuously for the third time now.

Occasionally, I pause to ask the Voice questions, but at time it fails to provide my answers, prompting me to return to the Core hall and search for the information myself.

“Threading Myr is a durable material that can be crafted using one’s mana. It is commonly utilized for Modular Runes engraved on objects to interconnect them.” The voice answered.

This is the second explanation I have received about ‘Threading Myr’, I just wanted to confirm its meaning.

I closed my book and invoked my power, using telekinesis to float it. It wasn’t the only floating around me; there were also body frames that I intended to use for creating my body.

I started floating above the railing of the balcony of the upper floors, observing the compartments filled with various items. Many of which were something that I don’t recognize or understand how they work.

I finally halted in front of the compartment brimming with clothes, peering through the glass, I saw several headless bodies in various garments.

“Clothes…”

“I recommend creating your body first before searching for clothes. Some garments may not fit the body you create.”

I know that already. I was just passing by.

Swiveling around, my eyes landed on another statue in the center of the wide-open area. Gliding myself to the ground floor, I approached the statue that captured my attention, it grew larger as I came closer.  All the while, I started preparing the body frames that I brought with me to one clustered group.

This girl… This statue was meant to depict a Female Aegir. I don't quite understand the difference between Humans and Aegirs; they appear the same to me. But it was said that Aegirs were more… superior compared to the Humans, that’s what the textbooks said.

“Aegirs… What are they?”

“Aegirs are a powerful race, possessing unparalleled intelligence, advanced technology, and abilities far beyond any mortal race. They are the ones who conquered the voids and passed through Filamentary Walls. The Aegirians, creators of the Guardians’ and Sentience.” The Voice praised, its words rushing out before I could fully understand their meaning.

However, I did manage to grasp the last part. If they are the ones who created the Guardians, then I can’t help but wonder if I, too, was created by the Aegir. The Guardians were created in the image of their creators; and I also bear similarities. Except for my translucent form; everything about me seems to mirror their image.

But for what purpose? Why? Perhaps to write books?

“Did they krea… created me too?”

“I am not certain. Your local Arkus does not possess any information about you or your Ghost race.”

Hearing that, I couldn’t help but stop. That’s quite strange. Did the Voice make a mistake?

“But me is Ghost, not race?” I clarified.

“I am not sure what you are asking, but you are a ghost, that is your race.”

“Race? Not name?”

“You don’t have a name, but you are a ghost, a ghost race.”

Is that so? I always thought I was a Ghost, a name. Then what name do I have if I don’t… Oh, I understand now. I am called a Ghost because I am one, but I don’t have a name so I am called just a ghost.

“Then, if it's-race. Then. Then, someone is also like me, somewhere? Then?”

“Yes, you are correct.”

”Then names. I want name.”

“Please create a name for yourself. It is yours after all.”

Is that so.

I don’t know how to make a name… But, I won’t deny that the thought of making one excites me. A name… Something that calls myself. I want to create a name, something that resonates with me, something that feels right.

In the future, the Voice and the Core might speak my name. Just thinking about it, I couldn’t help but feel more excited about it. After all, it would be amazing to finally hear my own name.

That thought strangely makes me feel happy. Oh wait, doesn’t that mean that the Voice feels the same way if I call its name?

“The Voice, your name.”

“I am called Pheleppeides.”

“Pi… Feh… Phelidedes.”

“Once again, its Phe-lep-pei-des.”

“Pheleppepdies. Pheleppidis. Pheleppeides. Oh, that. Pheleppeides! Correct, yes?”

“That is correct. Thank you for calling my name.”

I knew it. The voice likes its name. I should properly call names too, otherwise, it is just sad if I don’t call it by their names.

I continued walking until I reached the statue that had caught my interest, surrounded by piles of bodies of Guardians beneath. Unlike the other statues, there were a lot of Guardians when compared.

Hovering above the fallen Guardians, I reached the stone pedestal supporting the sitting statue of the girl. I searched its surface until my eyes caught sight of small letters etched into it. The name “Stephany Trinity, The Creator of Aeonian” was inscribed. Yep, this is her. Confirming that fact, I decided to float my body away to look at a wider view.

The first time I saw this statue, it immediately caught my interest, especially the girl’s appearance. Though the statue was made of metallic materials, I found several images of her in color, and the appeal I got only grew stronger.

Due to that reason, I decided to create a body base of hers.

“Stev, Stephany Trinity.”

“Are you perhaps interested in learning more about Stephany Trinity?” The Voice asked.

Of course, I am already familiar with her. The first sight of her statue led one thing to another, which eventually made the decision to use her as my model for my own body. Consequently, I became more knowledgeable about her.

Stephany Trinity is an Aegir, the creator of this library and the one who named it Aeonian.

“I know Stephany from, the books, but where is she right now? Or, the people that lived here.”

If she were the creator of this place, shouldn’t she come here? Why am I only seeing a statue of her? Will they appear here soon, or are they perhaps sleeping like the Guardians in areas unknown, requiring the repair of the Singularity to awaken them?

“I currently do not have any information regarding that. However, based on speculation, something must have happened or they have died, as the Pylons were not repaired.”

Huh? They don’t need Aerex Power?

“Died? What does that mean?”

“Death is a concept of eternal rest of an individual. You can think of the current state of the Guardians, but they will never awaken.” The Voice explained

“Why can’t they wake up? How is… How sure are you da… That they can’t wake up?”

For some reason, something was aching inside me. Even though I can see her statue, the pictures of her in the books, I felt incredibly uneasy. How could I tell her about the body I will make based on her? This odd feeling unsettles me.

“I am unable to provide information on this topic at the moment. However, I can recommend book titles that delve into the meaning of death.” The Voice said.

“Is that so. Can you ricu… Recommend a book for me… Atter. After we create my body.”

“Of course.”

“Wait, but what you… What do you mean apo… About the Pylon, and the girl.”

“Stephany Trinity, as the creator of this place, should have the ability to repair the energy pylons. While the Sentience and Guardians can assist in repairs, there are limitations to what we can fix. We are unable to repair anything that requires Mana, as we lack a Soul which generates Mana.”

“I understand.”

Is that so.

After receiving a satisfactory explanation from the Voice, I decided to proceed with my goals. I floated to the vacant ground and laid out the body frames I had brought with me.

I took one of the body frames and compared its shape to that of the statue. After a few minutes of comparing, I had finished matching all of the body parts except for the hair color of the head.

There wasn’t a selection of colors that matched Stephany’s hairstyle, with her supposed hair color being blue hair and red eyes. Since there aren’t many choices, I’ll go with what I think fits the body; a hair color of white.

This is temporary anyways. I think I can get a blue haired color once I repair the Singularity.

I wasn’t entirely sure of Stephany’s size, so I went for body frames that appeared similar and compatible with each other.

I started with the head with white hair and red eyes to match the statue’s appearance. Turning over the head, I noticed familiar letters engraved on the hollow neck. Carefully, I attached the neck frame inside the head.

Next up is… Right! I recalled the instructions from the book which required me to form a threading-myr using my Mana and link both components through the engraved letters. However, the question came: how do I do that?

“How do you create Threading-myr using mana?” I asked.

“You can create Threading-myr by using your own Mana. However, I believe you are currently using bits of your Mana on speaking and utilizing telekinesis. Whatever you’re doing now to speak or perform telekinesis is your Mana.”

Is that so?

The power to control objects, to float - Telekinesis was second nature to me, so I didn’t quite understand what the Voice meant. However, when I spoke, I focused on ‘wanting to speak’ something, to move ‘something’ because I wanted to speak. Yes… Didn’t I used to call this as intent?

Recalling that sensation, I attempted to invoke it, wanting to creating something using this intent to form a thread. Before long, a small, glowing blue thin line started to materialize before me. I continued invoking more and more until it grew thicker.

“Congratulations, you have crafted your first mana thread,” Pheleppeides declared. “However, you have utilized five of your Mana points. You can currently create four more before entering the ‘Mana Amplification Threshold’.”

“Mana Amply… Amfilification Threshold’?” I repeated.

“After monitoring your Mana pool for a decade, I can confidently announce that you have the constitution for the Mana Amplification Threshold. Mana Amplification Threshold are commonly found among Aegirs. This state is reached when your Mana levels are depleted enough for your Mana pool to enhance the efficiency of producing more Mana. The rate of your mana recovery varies depending on how much you currently have.”

“Is that so? But why?”

“I am not certain,” Pheleppeides responded. “But that has been my observation. However, I recommend not depleting your mana pool entirely, as my Sentience will shut down and will only recover once you achieve a full mana pool.”

“Is that so? I will do so, so remind… Me?”

“Of course.”

But to think that it took so much to create something like this? It doesn’t even look as thick as my fingers. Well, that didn’t bother me too much, so I decided to create more until the Voice warned me to stop. It would be a shame if I went overboard and then the Voice stopped talking to me.

I decided to tie up the head and neck. It was impossible to see the insides where the letters were engraved, covered by the neck part. So, I phased through to fix that problem.

The process was relatively straightforward as the Voice claimed; the thread-myr could phase through objects but remained stuck on the engrave letters. I had to interconnect the similar letters inside the head and neck.

After a few minutes, I successfully tied up the head and neck. Then, I started working on the torso, which contained numerous internal components. Seeing such, I couldn’t help but think it would take more time than I initially thought.

Oh, that is quite bad. I ran out of threading-myr halfway through the process.

“Trispira.”

Saying such, a floating box appeared. There were many things I have yet to fully understand about Trispira, but the most important part was checking my current mana, which it displayed [27/70].

That is lower than I expected.

Because of this predicament, I decided to stop my progress to choose what I want to do after this while I wait for my Mana to fill up.

I could explore more about this hall – there are a lot of compartments I have yet to fully explore, or I can go back to the Core and read more books.

As I was weighing the weight of my decisions, the voice suddenly spoke.

“Creating a new body will require some time. Would you prefer to use an existing body momentarily? This will allow us to inspect the damages of the Pylons and make plans accordingly while we create your new body?”

 “Let’s do that then.”
