Royce taps proceed and another menu appears

Royce turns off Harmony and channels mana throughout his body

“Now my mana should’ve decreased.. Let’s search for a number that has reduced”

Royce taps on the screen a few times and searches for the decreased number

“And… 156 TRILLION?! What the fuck!? I need to search through so many”

“This is going to take the entire night”

Royce continues to search for the number that represents his mana till 5 am

“FUCKING FINALLY!! That shit took 9 hours?! What the fuck… And I have to be ready by 7 for Tori’s training”

“I always regret staying up late…one good thing is after all the increase and decrease Harmony did level up twice… Let just see what I can do with it and get to bed”

Royce shuffles through multiple options most of them locked behind a stat requirement

“Well… Can’t change the values but I can lock them so they don’t change on their own”

“Good thing I did mana first”

Royce locks mana so it doesn’t change and tries to channels it into the rest of his body

“Nice.. Now I don’t have to ever worry about running out of mana”

“Wait, does that mean Harmony is just useless now?”

“ Well it does help with circulation and other shit”

“Meh whatever”

“Anyway time to sleep”

Royce lays in bed thinking about the whole day as he slowly falls asleep

The rest of the night passes by like a gentle breeze and Royce is woken up by maids knocking on the door, he slowly opens his eyes to see the sun shining bright outside his window.

“Fuck it’s morning already… Damn I barely slept at all”

“Yes… come in..”

“I really don’t wanna get out of bed… But man… I need to raise my stats to use this shit..”

Royce looks at his bracelet as the maids come in they look at him

Royce groans in bed

“Man… I really don’t have the energy to do anything… I really wanna sleep some more…”

“Thank you, but as I have said it multiple times before I am able to do my daily morning activities by myself”

The maids bow and start cleaning the room

Royce lazily rolls out of bed

“Day one of fucking up the mighty fucking system, Let’s get this shit started”

Royce starts his daily morning activities as he is almost done getting ready he thinks to himself

“So firstly there are stats in this world… then it’s skills which can be gained I suppose?... it’d be fucking stupid if you can’t gain them… then there’s blessings… speaking of them I don’t even know what they do.. I’m too tired of trying something and end up failing… Imma just ask Tori..”

Royce speeds up and quickly gets to the dining hall for his breakfast to his surprise Rose is also there

“Rose? Did you not go to school today?”

She sighs and replies

“Today was the day for basic magic lessons so.. Me being your totally awesome and gifted sister skipped it.”

Royce sits down as she is talking and gets started with breakfast

“Man it should be fun being good at everything”

Rose sighs and replies while playing with her food

“It…. gets really boring… Anyway, when will you learn mana applications? I really wanna have a duel with you”

She stands up in excitement

“It’d be so fun! Like imagine us fighting with everything we have and you use all you got and i do too but then I just win cuz i’m just that good”

Royce smiles and replies

“I’m still learning so it’ll be a while till we can have a duel”

Rose sits back down

“Why are you so young? Could you not grow up faster or something?”

Royce sighs and laughs

“I wish I could”

“I really wish I could… it feels weird being in such a small body”

“By the way, I never asked what your skills are?”

Rose smirks

“It’ll be a surprise for when we go head to head”

Royce sighs

“Alright if you say so”

“Well the more I use this the more it’ll level up right..? Are there any privacy laws here? Well no one would know anyway”

Rose looks at him with a weird look and asks

“Are you okay Royce?”

Royce looks around to see if he can save himself from being caught

“Uhh… There is no.. Bread…”

Rose looks into his plate to see an entire loaf sitting there

“You know… there is some on your plate.. ”

Royce sighs

“Yea but it’s not buttered or has any jam on it”

Rose passes him the jar

“Here, do it yourself. You need to learn how to do basic things Royce”

He quietly eats his food while thinking to himself

“Man…What the fuck?? I wish I had that skill, What the actual fuck?! That is such a broken skill, Unlimited mana for 11 minutes?! This is so unfair! I thought I was the special one, Ugh… What the fuck? She… I’m… I’m so lost for words right now… I didn’t even get to choose from such skills and she just has them?!”

Royce’s thoughts were interrupted by a maid calling him

“Lord Royce, Miss Silverrose  is waiting for you in the training grounds”

Royce sighs and replies

“Thank you, I’ll be there in a minute”

Royce finishes up the breakfast and quickly heads over to the training grounds

“Good Morning Miss Tori, My apologies for taking so long”

Tori smiles

“You’ll get nowhere with sweet talks kiddo”

“Turn off harmony and start doing the mana training”

Royce sighs and sits down

“I thought you’d be more gentle”

Tori interrupts 

“No no no, You won’t be sitting today, Today you’ll be standing up and do it with your eyes open this time”

Royce does as she is saying without any complains

“Alright…”

“Well I can just do mana channeling for the next few hours and it should make harmony level up a few times”

“Or… I can use a bit of mana and then lock the number there to endlessly do my absorbing training”

“Then I can do both without running out or maxing out my mana at all”

“Let’s start todays training now”

Royce continues to train his mana absorption and control with no limit to how much he can do one activity

And without having to take breaks to catch his breath the level of his ability shoots up dramatically

“I’ve already leveled up 3 times and the next level should be almost done”

Royce receives another level up screen

“Alright..”

“Miss Tori, I leveled up again!”

She smiles and replies

“That’s good! You don’t sound as excited this time though?”

Royce thinks to himself and replies

“Well I’ve leveled up like 6 times now so it’s whatever..”

“There is no new upgrade to this skill”

Tori replies

“Skills usually don’t get upgraded with each level up, Sometimes it takes multiple level ups to get a new upgrade, so don’t worry.”

Royce continues his training but Tori stops her after sometime

“Alright kiddo take some rest, You can use Harmony while you rest to replenish your mana for the next training, which will be basic elemental magic”

Royce turns Harmony on and lays down

“I’m tired already”

“Not really… I’m just mostly tired of standing, still let’s just get some rest while we can”

After a little bit Royce gets up

“I’m ready for the next training”

Tori gets up as well and replies

“It’s rare to see kids so excited about learning magic, most of them throw fits after training for 10 minutes and here you are barely taking a 10 minute rest”

Royce confusingly asks

“Am I… weird for doing that?...”

Tori laughs

“Oh no no it’s just rare to see someone with such enthusiasm for magic”

Royce replies

“Magic is cool though..”

Tori laughs again

“Maybe you need to go out more then you’ll see what other 1 year olds are doing”

Royce smiles

“Well being a year old is the reason Father says that I can’t go out”

“So I can’t really see what other kids are doing”

Tori replies

“Well you should soon get to go out, till then let’s practice hard so you can defend yourself?”

Royce sighs

“Sure… So what do I need to do to use magic?”

Tori replies

“Well first let’s start with the easiest, Earth magic, and rock bullet for that, to use this all you have to do is to channel the mana out of your body and imagine the dust around you forming a solid chunk and then… let’s just take a single step at a time”

“Since you already know how to channel mana out of your body you should start with forming the bullets”

Royce closes his eyes and puts his hand forward holding it in front of him with the other and channels his mana into and out of his hand

“Now imagine grains of sand being combined together into one…  the amount of dust… the size of the bullet… the shape… the amount of bu-”

Royce is Interrupted by Tori

“Alright stop now.”

Royce opens his eyes to see the bullet he made falling onto the ground with a thud

“Did I do something wrong?... I was doing what you asked”

Tori picks up the bullet He has just made amazed by its quality she replies

“This is too good for a beginner… It usually takes mages 10-12 year of training minimum to get such refined bullets”

Royce replies

“So…”

Tori replies

“I’ll go get Lord Beth to see this you go sit and do not use earth magic again”

Tori rushes off and Royce continues to experiment with this new found skill despite being told not to

“Well she said no Earth magic right?”

“Alright If imagining what makes the thing is all I have to do then the others should be easy as well”

Once again Royce closes his eyes and gets into position

“Alright lets try fire this time…first channel… then collect oxygen and for the flammable let’s try hydrogen… let’s try to make 2 of them… then the shape… and size… and to throw should I just… assign speed?...”

Royce opens his eyes to see 2 beautifully blue fireball right in front of his hand

“Fire!”

The fireball propels forward just a few meters before colliding exploding midair

“Huh… That was… Of course it exploded… Hydrogen is fucking explosive”

“But they exploded after colliding… does that mean the things keep their form till they touch something?”

Royce once again takes his stance and focuses on another rock bullet

“Two bullets and… assign speed in the same direction”

Royce opens his eyes 

“Now… Fire.”

The bullets collide and falls down on the ground

“That was… Underwhelming”

“Do they not fall apart..?”

Royce is then interrupted by a notification

He laughs as Tori stands and looks at them

“Your son really is something… always doing something to surprise me”

Beth laughs and replies while holding Royce

“He’s MY son of course he is this good at magic!”

Beth looks at Royce

“I might have to start your swordsmanship lessons early if you keep going like this!”

Royce wiggles out and looks at both of them

“Miss Tori I tried the bullet a few times and got the skill earth magic”

Tori smiles

“You did a great job Royce, could you please demonstrate to your father how you made the magic bullets? If you do not have enough mana you can turn harmony back on”

Royce takes the position

“I still have some left so don’t worry”

“I have infinite mana thanks to the Chronobrace… Now let’s do this once again… Should I show off a bit? Eh, why not… Let’s try 3 bullets”

“Collect… Compact into one… Size… Shape… Amount…Now…”

Royce opens his eyes to see 3 bullets right in front of him

“Fire!”

The bullets flies through the targets with ease

Royce turns to look at Tori and Beth as they stand there still in utter disbelief

“Did I do a good job Father?”

Tori looks at Beth waiting for his answer

“Go on Beth…”

Beth looks at Royce and replies

“Son… What you did just now…You might become the strongest mage this continent has ever seen…and…”

Royce looks at Beth to hear the words of praise

“I’m really p-”

Suddenly everything goes dark as Royce falls face first onto the sandy training ground

Royce then wakes up in his bed trying to remember what just happened

“What the fuck…? What happened… Why am I in my room? I remember training with Tori and then Father came… and Tori asked me to show him…he was about to praise me… what the fuck man… Did I run out of mana…? I remember locking my mana… It couldn’t have ran out”

As Royce tries to get up a maid rushes over

“Lord Royce, please lay down, you need rest.”

She then signals another maid who then leaves the room

“Lord Beth will be here soon.”

Royce lays back down and thinks to himself

“Man… It was starting to get good finally… what the fuck happened…”

The door to his room opens as Olivia rushes over and pickles him up

“ROYCE!! ARE YOU OKAY!? MY SWEET LITTLE BOY! YOU SHOULD’VE BEEN MORE CAREFUL!”

Royce looks over her shoulder to see Beth and Tori standing there

“I am okay mother don't worry… and could you please put me back down?”

Tori comes over and starts apologizing

“Please Lady Olivia It is my fault… I forgot to keep mana fatigue in mind while training… it’s just that he’s such an extraordinar-”

Olivia looks at Tori with eyes filled with tears

“SHUT IT! I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR A SINGLE WORD FROM YOU! HOW DARE YOU FORGET SUCH THING!?!”

“AND WHAT IF HE IS EXTRAORDINARY”

“HE IS STILL JUST A CHILD?!”

“WHAT IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED?! THEN WOULD YOU HAVE TAKEN THE RESPONSIBILITY?!”

Beth tries to calm Olivia down

“Please Dear Olivia, There is no need to yell at her… She couldn’t have known… who knows how many times he used magic”

Olivia replies to Beth

“HE WAS PRACTICING ALONE?! HOW D-”

Royce interrupts Olivia

“MOTHER! Please listen. It was all my fault. I was careless. I continued to use magic even though she told me not to… She couldn’t have known… I didn’t listen to her and continued using magic… I didn’t know this would happen”

“Please don’t scold Miss Tori for something that I did… I’m really sorry… I promise to never do that again…”

Olivia sighs 

“Royce… Did you know how worried I was the entire time you were asleep? I couldn’t help but think of the worst”

“I’m sorry Olivia… It’s just… I got scared… I apologize for saying such things…”

Tori replies

“It’s alright Lady Olivia… I can understand what you must be going through the entire time Royce was asleep… But I promise to you… I will protect Royce… even if that means sacrificing my own.”

“I too apologize for leaving Royce unsupervised…”

Once Olivia lets Royce go he asks

“What actually happened though… I only remember firing the spell and feeling a bit dizzy… after that I just woke up in my bed”

Tori explains to Royce

“Royce… you experienced mana sickness… It happens when you strain your mind too much while using magic… usually people run out of mana before experiencing mana sickness… but it might’ve been due to Harmony continuously restoring your mana as you use it”

Royce thinks to himself

“Or maybe because I locked my mana so I can use it without running out…”

“Man, if that's the case, having infinite mana doesn’t really sound so good now…”

“Is there nothing I can do for this mana sickness?”

“I don’t think they’ll let me continue my training for today…”

Royce sighs and seeing this Olivia continues

“Royce you should rest for today…”

Royce replies while giving her a pleading look

“But… I wanna continue training…”

Everyone sighs in sync followed by a laughter as Olivia replies

“Fine… Just stop with those eyes… But no mana training, You can only do magic theory.”

Royce thinks to himself before asking Tori

“Well it’s better than nothing”

“Miss Tori, can we start now?”

Tori replies

“Alright but I’ll bring the books here since it might be hard for you to keep your balance”

Everyone but the maids leave as Royce gets onto his bed and waits for Tori to arrive

After sometime Tori gets back with a butler carrying multiple books

Royce looks at her in confusion

“I’m not gonna stay in my room for that long am I?”

Olivia smiles

“No, But it’s still better for you to take care of yourself and wait a few days before starting your mana training”

Royce looks disappointed 

“Fine… But after three days we will continue magic training”

Tori laughs and replies

“Alright alright, If I think you are fit enough to get back to it then sure”

“So make sure to get enough rest and eat well!”

Royce smiles and asks

“Before we start though, Can I ask you something?”

“I already have Ered’s and others blessings but I only gained the skills after successfully using them a few times…”

“So… What do the blessings do…?”

Tori replies

“Blessings are somewhat similar to skills, since they both give you abilities. The difference is the same as the difference between a filling meal and a delicious and filling meal while both serve the same purpose one has a clear advantage over the other but the other also has the disadvantage of taking longer to prepare”

“Blessings are this delicious and filling meal, while it takes longer to master the abilities blessings give you, they offer much more flexibility than the traditional magic.”

Tori continues teaching Royce till evening

As the sun sets into the distance Tori gets up and collects the books to leave

Royce interrupts Tori

“Miss Tori, please leave them here. I'll read them before bed.”

Tori collects and neatly organize the books on Royce’s side table

“Here you go, But sleep on time you still need to recover from mana sickness remember?”

Royce laughs

“Yes of course I do.”

Tori leaves and Royce lays in bed thinking about the day

“Oh boy was today eventful”

“I should look at my blessings… Tori said that what they do should be right below them… man I even said I was looking at my blessings while looking at her status screen… hope she doesn’t remember…”

Royce opens his status screen and falls back down on his bed

“That took a lot… Man this mana sickness is no joke…”

Royce eyes slowly close as the lack of sleep the day before catches up to him
