Walking up to the door, I gently open it, hoping that this house doesn't turn out to be anything scary or dangerous.

"...Anyone home?"

I hesitantly speak into the inside of the abandoned house, waiting for any kind of response.

It's completely silent.

Eureshya kicks the door open, making me jump in fright.

"...W-Why did you do that?" I ask her, annoyed.

Eureshya simply walks inside without answering me.

"Well?"

She waits for me with an impatient expression on her face.

...

I walk into the house.

The door behind us closes by itself.

Looking around, there's dust everywhere... The furniture seems broken or destroyed, but that's expected from an abandoned house...

"This is so creepy..."

I say to Eureshya.

"Let's investigate those stairs, I suppose. Maybe they have some rooms up there."

We walk towards the stairs.

"There's nothing to be afraid of... Right?"

"No. Nothing here to be afraid of. Only small mice or rats, that's all. Let's go."

We make it up the stairs without any problems, finding several empty rooms, each more run down than the next.

After looking for what seems to be ages, Eureshya walks over to a corner room.

"Hm." Eureshya mutters.

This whole place gives me the creeps.

...

It feels like it's trying to kill us.

The feeling is unbearable... I want to run away...

But Eureshya seems determined.

She calls for me, so I reluctantly walk into the room.

...

This is definitely a bedroom. There are beds here.

And it doesn't look that bad, honestly.

"This isn't as run down as I thought." Eureshya remarks.

"I don't feel comfortable in here..." I say, trying to ignore my surroundings.

"There's no other option. Let's rest here."

Eureshya says, sounding serious.

...

No choice. I put the sleeping girl on the bed, laying her down gently.

Then, Eureshya approaches me.

"You know, this wouldn't happen if you knew how to make a house. But you're not able to do so, and your mana makes fighting for me difficult."

"It's not easy..." I protest, feeling a little tired from all this.

"Whatever." She sounds bored.

I watch her as she walks to the bed, laying down on the sheets.

I'm exhausted from all this stress.

So much happened today...

And my body hurts so much... I really want to sleep.

I lay down next to the girl, gently hugging her.

My head is on the pillow, and the girl's head is against my chest.

...

It's really comfortable... I'm falling asleep so quickly.

My tail and my fox ears seem to relax... They are no longer moving so wildly.

It doesn't take long for me to drift off into unconsciousness... I guess this has been quite tiring after all.

My small body can't handle too much stress...

Even in this situation... Even under all of this danger.

And this dark place makes me feel uneasy and scared.

I know deep in my heart... This house... It doesn't feel normal.
