Si Tao got up and came around the table, reaching out to pat his shoulder. "Don’t take it too harshly. Anyway, breaking up isn’t easy. Honestly, when I kicked him to the curb, I also wasn’t always happy about it afterward.

"As much as there were things that bothered me, I still had a lot of fun with him and I have to admit that he can be the perfect lover sometimes. I definitely don’t regret the time I spent with him. But in the long-term, it wouldn’t have worked out. Not with me and him and probably also not with you and him. It’s just that we each were at completely different stages of our life so things had to end.

"Right now, my girlfriend and I, we haven’t been together all that long but I’m sure that she is the right one. We are actually going to move in together in a couple of weeks and I can see things going even further with her if that works out well. So I think that breaking up with Mo Fang was — as hard as it was at that moment and as often as I thought about getting back together when I saw him break up with somebody else again — the right decision. Because at the end of the day, it gave me the opportunity to meet somebody who was a better fit for me. And you’ll be the same."

Li Ming looked up, not sure what to say. He also knew that he needed to look at the future. He couldn’t dwell on what had happened with Mo Fang forever. But then, it hadn’t been all that long for him and he really was hurt. The hurt was lessening a little more with each day and everything new that he found out, but still, it wasn’t easy. And he would need more time.

Finally, he slapped the armrest of the chair and also got up, nodding at Si Tao. "Thank you for having this talk with me. It’s making me feel a bit better."

Si Tao smiled and slung an arm around his shoulder, keeping him there for a moment longer. "You know, I really like you. It’s a pity you didn’t work out with Mo Fang but I can see why. I do know a lot of cute guys though. If you ever feel that you’re ready to date again and need help setting something up, you can always come to me."

Li Ming laughed, not quite sure why everyone wanted to set him up these days. "Thank you for the offer but I think it’ll be quite some time before I get back into dating. Right now, I’m focusing on furthering my career."

Si Tao raised his brows, giving him a sideways glance. "Oh? You know, I also have some connections in that regard."

Li Ming smiled but shook his head. "Thank you, but right now, I’m trying to acquire some new skills. After that, I’ll get back into things. I’m not sure what exactly I want to do actually. I feel like going in a new direction. I loved my job at the railroad station but clearly, that isn’t the right place for me anymore."

Si Tao didn’t know the whole backstory, but at the very least, he was able to see that there seemed to be quite a lot buried there so he didn’t try to pry deeper. "Well, I’m sure you’ll be able to find something. Speaking of which though, give me your phone number. Running into each other the other day was just a coincidence and you walking in here and actually managing to find me was also your good luck. I’m not here every day, you know? I have some other companies under my name so I tend to spend a day here and another there. So, give me something to keep in touch."

Li Ming was a little surprised but seeing as they did have some common ground and were getting along well, he also didn’t mind. Anyway, he did not expect Si Tao to really stay in touch much but it couldn’t hurt either to give him the opportunity, right?

He took out his phone and the two of them exchanged numbers before Si Tao accompanied Li Ming out of the office and back to the bar.

Seeing Duan Zhi Hao over there, he couldn’t help but give Li Ming another sideways glance. "You know, the other day, I was wondering if you were going out with either of the two you were with that day."

Li Ming gave a laugh and shook his head. "No, as I said, I’m not looking to date right now. Those two are from the course I’m currently taking. Do you want to be introduced?" Anyway, the other day, they hadn’t really sat down to talk.

Si Tao looked at Duan Zhi Hao who was looking a little down and shook his head. "No, I think we should leave that for another day. Anyway, your friend looks like something happened. You should probably go and check on him."

Li Ming glanced over and realized that Duan Zhi Hao was indeed looking as if something had happened. He couldn’t help but worry and hurriedly bid goodbye to Si Tao before he rushed over and sat down next to Duan Zhi Hao. "Did something happen?"

Duan Zhi Hao put down his drink with a sigh and turned to Li Ming. "You could say it like that. You know, there was a beautiful lady, and I thought I should just shoot my shot. You never know if you might not coincidentally have found the love of your life, right? Well, as it turns out, she wasn’t into men. Ah, I’ve never been more embarrassed in my life." With that, he picked the glass back up, and turned to the front again, silently continuing to drink. He really didn’t seem as if he currently wanted to talk.

Li Ming couldn’t help but silently laugh, not all that surprised. From the little he had seen of Si Tao’s restaurant so far, this was more of a queer dating spot than anything else. But you could absolutely drag a straight person in here just to have a meal or some drinks and there were some people who would stumble into the establishment without knowing what was going on as well, just like Duan Zhi Hao had done today. For most of them, they probably didn’t know what was up and wouldn’t catch on easily. So really, it was no wonder that he would chat up the wrong type of person. If he had tried with one of the men, his chances probably would have been higher.
