Early the next morning, Li Ming met up with Yao Ai and Duan Zhi Hao. He had messaged them his plan for today late yesterday night just before going to bed so they’d have time to prepare.

Originally, he had only wanted to tell them this morning to have it be a bigger surprise but then he had thought of how they might have trouble getting around or might want to meet up somewhere else, so he had figured that it would be a better idea to let them know the day before.

As a result, it had indeed turned out that he had made the right call. Yao Ai hadn’t known how to get to the location so finally, Duan Zhi Hao had offered to just drive the three of them over there. Li Ming didn’t have a problem with that so they finally just met in front of the building where they had had their course until yesterday before they drove off.

Duan Zhi Hao glanced at Li Ming and Yao Ai through the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but sigh. "I can’t believe I somehow ended up as the designated driver. Now, I won’t even be able to drink."

Li Ming smiled faintly. He didn’t have a driver’s license himself so it wasn’t like he could offer to take over. "Sorry about that. But I guess you could sneak in a glass of wine at least at lunch. Until the time we go back, the alcohol will have worn off."

Duan Zhi Hao gave a hum. "Well, I guess that’s true as well. Anyway, I guess today will be fun."

Yao Ai nodded fervently. "For sure! I still can’t believe you’re actually taking us to the theme park. I wouldn’t have thought this was the kind of idea you’d come up with, Brother Li. If I had known before, I would’ve insisted that you choose where to go every third day. We could have had so much fun!"

Duan Zhi Hao raised his brows. "What do you mean 'we could have had so much fun'? Do you want to tell me that you didn’t have fun with the things I chose?"

"I’m not saying that I didn’t have fun. I just feel that I might have had more fun if Brother Li chose. Just look at what he came up with for today!"

"Well, if I only had to come up with one thing, I also would’ve been able to do that." Duan Zhi Hao tsked and shook his head, feeling that she was really too ungrateful. He had even chosen that stupid pet cafe just for her. Couldn’t she be a bit more appreciative?

Li Ming couldn’t help but laugh at these two. They really seemed like a pair of siblings quibbling. "To be honest, I’m afraid I can’t quite accept the honor of having this kind of great idea. I called my mother last night and asked what she would suggest. If it had been me, I probably would’ve taken you to the zoo." At the very least, he hadn’t really found anything better so that was a good guess.

Yao Ai stared at him, not quite sure what to make of that. She didn’t necessarily have anything against going to the zoo but it couldn’t compare with going to a theme park. "Thankfully, you have a good relationship with your mom. And thankfully, she’s so much in tune with what people want to do."

Li Ming wasn’t sure what to think for a moment. This kind of thing, was it an indication of how well he got along with his mother? He wouldn’t have thought so but then, considering how Yao Ai often talked about her parents, maybe that really was true. She probably wouldn’t have done the same if she had been in his situation.

Realizing this, he couldn’t help but feel glad that he had asked his mother to go over tomorrow. It seemed that he had really been too harsh on her in the past. Maybe now was the perfect time to mend their relationship. Because apparently, not all hope was lost that they could do that. Clearly, the affection they held for each other before he came out was still there. And if his mother was somehow able to accept it, then that was still good even if it came late. He would welcome it.

He sighed and then motioned to the bag he was carrying around. "Did the two of you eat breakfast already? Because I made a little something to take along."

Yao Ai couldn’t help but lean over, opening up the bag to peer inside. "Oh, that actually looks really good!"

Li Ming smiled faintly, quite happy to hear praise. "Well, I figured it’d be a long day, and food at this kind of place can be a bit expensive. So figured if we ate something beforehand and had some snacks for in-between, it couldn’t hurt. We can still go and eat lunch though."

Duan Zhi Hao gave him another look through the mirror, feeling a bit tangled. "Are you worried because you’re out of a job? You won’t have trouble getting something new, will you?"

Li Ming hesitated for a moment but then shook his head. "No, I think I’ll be able to handle it. Anyway, if not, then that guy from the restaurant we went to last night offered to help me find something. He knows quite a lot of people so if I really can’t find anything on my own, I can ask him for help." He didn’t necessarily want to do that but it would be a last avenue if all else failed.

Yao Ai looked from one person to the other, her brows rising. "What kind of restaurant? What guy? What did I miss?"

Duan Zhi Hao gave her a glance and sighed. "I don’t know. What did we miss? Have you settled on your path for the future yet, young lady?"

Yao Ai pursed her lips, even thinking about sticking out her tongue. He deserved it! She didn’t bother about him though and instead turned back to Li Ming. "Brother Li, come on! You wouldn’t want to keep me out of the loop, would you? That’d be mean!"

Li Ming smiled and pushed the bag closer to her. "So, do you want something to eat or not? Anyway, there isn’t much to say about yesterday. We just went to visit some people and I had a talk with them while Brother Duan mostly sat around. As for the details, I don’t think it’s all that interesting. It was just catching up with friends of friends."

He didn’t mention his ex because if he did, he was pretty sure that Yao Ai would be all over the topic again. And for today, he really didn’t want to think about that. After all, he had a feeling that tomorrow, when he met his mother again, he would have to talk about it anyway.
