The three of them continued through the theme park, mostly stopping for things that Yao Ai wanted to do but Duan Zhi Hao and Li Ming also had fun trying out the different attractions. They directly skipped lunch but finally found a cozy little restaurant to sit down for dinner.

"Right, let’s find a table. Brother Li and I can bring over the meal and while you keep the table occupied and make sure that nobody steals our seats."

The one problem with this place was that there were way too many people. Getting a table in any of the restaurants was pretty much impossible. So planning a bit ahead was definitely better.

Yao Ai saw things the same way so she immediately nodded.

Li Ming couldn’t help but look a bit worried though. "Actually, just let me go and get the food. You both sit at the table in the meantime. Sister Yao will have somebody to talk and reserving two chairs is much less awkward than reserving just one." In this kind of crowded place, he just didn’t feel like it was a good idea to leave too many seats unoccupied that you wanted to use. It just … seemed to be tempting fate a little too much. Don’t look for one moment and you’d have to defend wanting to keep the chair.

Duan Zhi Hao raised his brows. "Are you sure you can carry all three meals?"

Li Ming nodded, not too worried. "There are food trays and I’m a strong guy. So yes, I’m sure it’ll work out. Don’t worry. Anyway, in the worst case, I’ll shoot you a text that I need help."

The two nodded and looked around the restaurant, trying to find an unoccupied table. At first, they didn’t seem to have any luck. Just when they wanted to make another round, a small group of people was actually getting up, ready to leave.

Duan Zhi Hao elbowed Li Ming and nodded over there. "That table! Quick!"

They made their way over, and Yao Ai and Duan Zhi Hao hastily sat down, pulling one chair over while they left the rest of the table empty. There were still two more chairs so some couple could get those.

Li Ming nodded and then went to get their food. They hadn’t looked at the menu before but after two weeks of going out together, he knew their preferences pretty well.

Looking back at the two of them, he couldn’t help but smile. Actually, today had been really nice. No, not just today but all of these days. It was sad that today would soon come to an end and with that, maybe this new friendship as well.

Meeting somebody new, getting along like this, spending time together after the course … he was sure that this wouldn’t happen again like this anytime soon. After all, how often did you manage to get along with people this easily? He was pretty sure that in this case, part of it had been Yao Ai being so open and wanting to find somebody to get along with herself. Duan Zhi Hao was also someone who was very easy to get to know. Now, if he was to go to the next course alone, he was afraid that things would be a bit different.

He sighed and turned back to the front, shaking his head at himself. He shouldn’t be this negative. He had done very well in the last two weeks. In the next few weeks, some other good thing would happen. He just needed to keep his eyes open and actually appreciate what was in front of him. And in the worst case, he could still call up people that he already knew.

Duan Zhi Hao didn’t seem all that bothered with these things so he was one person he could reach out to. Si Tao had also asked him for his number so maybe there was a possibility there even though he still felt that the idea was a bit awkward. And then, he would also keep in contact with most of his old coworkers. He wasn’t close to all of them, but at least people like Rui Lan were somebody that he could spend time with. Also, soon enough, he’d find another job. And then, he’d have new colleagues to get to know, a new environment to get used to, just a new life all around. He shouldn’t worry too much.

He finally made his way to the front of the queue, got the food, and brought it back to the table. "Alright, everything has been delivered safely. I hope you’ll like what I chose." He sat down next to them and then sighed while they distributed the dishes. "God, it’s pretty loud in here."

With so many people, it really wasn’t a surprise but he hadn’t expected this degree of noise. The dining places in the theme park all looked pretty small but they were utilizing the space well enough that, in the end, there still was quite the crowd. Well, with this big a park, it was no wonder. If they didn’t, people would have to go hungry for more than just one meal a day.

Duan Zhi Hao had similar thoughts as he looked around, but he still started eating after shrugging his shoulders. "Well, we already skipped lunch, so as long as the meal is edible, I won’t mind." Saying this, he couldn’t help but side-eye Yao Ai. "Well, it wouldn’t be this bad if somebody hadn’t eaten all the food that brother Li made. Couldn’t you have saved me something?"

Yao Ai froze and couldn’t help but glance at Li Ming. She had eaten quite a bit of the food in the car this morning, and then when she got hungry in-between, she had badgered Li Ming for some more. Who knew when exactly she had reached the bottom of the bag? Anyway, she hadn’t intended to do this. It had just happened.

She gulped down a bite of the restaurant’s food and then gave Duan Zhi Hao an apologetic smile. "I’m really sorry, brother Duan. Really. I know you missed out a lot. Brother Li’s food was really tasty. Honestly, I didn’t know that home-cooked food could be this delicious."

Duan Zhi Hao pulled a face. "You know, you’re not making it any better." He sighed and then turned to Li Ming, shaking his head at him. "Well, this tells us that in the future, if we have a go out with the three of us together, you better make more of it. And if the two of us ever hang out alone, there’d better be a special portion for me!"

Li Ming couldn’t help but laugh. "Well, if you insist, then I guess I’ll be doing that." He thought for a bit and then tilted his head. "Actually, do you want to come by my place next week? I’ll invite you to dinner."

Duan Zhi Hao froze, not having expected that. "Uh … Well, I guess?" Actually, he had been joking around just now because he really couldn’t believe that Li Ming’s food was this good, but … if he was already given the opportunity, why should he waste it? Thus, agreeing really wasn’t that difficult a matter.
