Mo Fang gave a hum, satisfied with that answer. His own father might be secretly unhappy that he was gay but he would also never try and have him marry a woman. He knew that it was futile to try and set something up. So he had never needed to fight against that.

As for his boyfriend, one of his top priorities after being good-looking and good in bed was definitely that either he had no contact with his family at all or that his family was at least accepting to the point where they wouldn’t push women at him all the time. It would be even better if they could have come to terms with his boyfriend being gay completely.

In any case, if they weren’t accepting, it would just add stress to their relationship. That wasn’t something he wanted. He’d rather break up and find somebody else that was easier to get along with if that was the case. To hear that Li Ming wouldn’t put him in a position where he needed to make such a choice was definitely very good.

Speaking of his family though … "Have you ever introduced one of your boyfriends to them?"

"No, never. I guess I just never dared to do so. They were pretty panicked after my coming out and since that already put a strain on our relationship, I was worried that actually introducing someone to them might make it worse. After all, right now, it’s only a thought they have. If I really brought somebody over, who knows how that would turn out? If it becomes this real, they might not be able to treat me the same anymore."

Mo Fang rolled onto his back and stared up at the ceiling. Well, it seemed that this was something that could be made use of. "Well, maybe you are looking at it the wrong way though. I mean right now, they’re feeling awkward about it. You being gay is something they never expected so they might just not know what to think. But if you did introduce someone to them and they actually liked the person, maybe it would also help them to accept it? Also, if they see how happy you are with your boyfriend, maybe that would make them feel that no matter if it’s a man or a woman, it’s alright as long as their child is happy. Don’t you think so?"

Li Ming kept quiet for a moment, continuing to look at his hands. "Well … It’s not that I haven’t thought about that. I’m just a bit worried. If you’re right, then that would be great. But what if not? What if … What if everything goes wrong? I don’t want to lose them."

Mo Fang felt slightly worried when he heard that. Didn’t this mean that if he didn’t get along with Li Ming’s family, their relationship had no future at all? It seemed he would have to be very, very careful when it got to this. Considering that, it was probably good that Li Ming didn’t want to introduce him anytime soon. After they had gotten to know each other better and had been together for a long time, Li Ming would be much more reluctant to just let him go because his family wasn’t up for this.

"Well, there’s no need to rush. I’m sure that sooner or later, they’ll come around. And then you don’t have to worry about introducing your boyfriend anymore. In any case, wasn’t it the same with my father?"

Li Ming couldn’t help but chuckle. He still remembered the story Mo Fang had told him about how he had accidentally come out to his father. "Boss Mo must’ve been really shocked at first though. How long did he need to come around?"

Mo Fang gave a hum, not quite sure. "Actually, I think it wasn’t that long. He was still raging the first few days but when I said that I’d just move out if he didn’t allow me, I think he calmed down pretty soon."

Li Ming raised his brows, unable to believe what he had just heard. "You threatened him to move out? Didn’t you say you were … fourteen?" He remembered that detail because it had really shocked him. His own first time … he had been nineteen or twenty by then and in his first long-term relationship.

Mo Fang didn’t seem to think that it was anything strange though. "Yeah, I was. What about it? Had I been older, what would be the threat of moving out? That would just be expected. At fourteen, you can still call that running away. It’s a difficult thing to accept for a parent."

Li Ming kept quiet for a moment but then laughed. Well, it seemed that Mo Fang had been quite the rebellious kid. "I can hardly believe that that really convinced your father." Even though Boss Mo loved his son, he wasn’t an idiot who would just go along with whatever his son said. Running away … would he really believe that?

After thinking about it for a moment, Li Ming couldn’t help but wonder if he really understood though. Most likely, Boss Mo also never would’ve thought that he would catch his son with another man right in front of his house. Or anywhere for that matter.

So after seeing that, maybe he would’ve thought that whether it was going out with a guy that was several years older than him or running away, it could both be possible. In that case, a loving father like him might really be scared. And if Mo Fang had a boyfriend, who knew if he couldn’t have run away to live with him? Boss Mo really might’ve never seen him again.

"Boss Mo cares about you a lot."

"Of course. Anyway, I’m his only child. Who is he going to care for if not me?"

Li Ming couldn’t help but laugh again at that. "Yes, who could that be otherwise? I guess you’re right."
