1 year :3 months:5 days post birth

I winced at the electronic voice in my head

About one year passed since my rebirth in the new world.

I decided to bide my time as I adapted to this world until my body grew.

I didn’t spend my days doing nothing, though.

Lying in the cradle, I communicated with the voice I named the chatbot many times and learned about the world and the residence’s circumstances.

The communication caused a mental burden on me so if I continued for too long I would get tired and sleepy

I also practiced meditation...no not the yoga meditation type but the skill meditation which is a default skill of mage class

It can replenish spent mana at a fast rate and if your mana is full it will permanently increase the mana of the player by 500 per hour but nobody would be crazy enough to waste time meditating when they could easily gain much more mana by levelling up, as a result, it was only used in the safe zone as a method to replenish spent mana

In my case it was pretty much the only thing I could do...it turns out sleeping = meditation and absently watching beautiful scenery = meditation.

And meditation = gaining mana

Do it for 3 months you will gain an achievement of the passive title/skill [Guru]

Now meditating gives me 50,000 mana per hour it is basically a cheat but hey I guess whoever made this achievement probably believed that there was no player crazy enough to spend three months (three actual months ) meditating

Right now my mana is so high that the mages present for my protection were forced to stay outside the mansion

These mages are sensitive to mana and it's a necessary ability to detect if an enemy mage is attempting to kill me via a long distance magic, the massive amount of mana I have seems to interfere with this sense

but so far there has been no incident so it isn't that bad

Several months later, I was able to stand up, albeit with the help of nearby support.

As soon as I did, I started practising.

“One…two…'

Also thanks to the nanny's encouragement, I somehow managed to crawl to the corners of my room

After weeks of attempting to crawl, yet only achieving an uncoordinated scuffle

2 years:2 months:8 days

now the 2-year-old me can walk.

I often walked around the residence, much to the servants’ dismay.

They often chased me around, worried about my energy and dangerous behaviour: they played their game of tag day after day.

This day was no different; today’s game of tag as always ended in the servants’ victory. I was made to stay in my room again

“One…two…”

I somehow managed to crawl to the child-sized desk in my room and climbed on the desk.

It was just about 55 cm tall, but for me, who had barely learned to stand up, it was quite the height.

I steeled my resolve, then bravely jumped towards the floor.

“Flyyyyy…waah!”

I shot upwards in the air like a rocket just stopping my ascent before my head hit the roof

I couldn’t land upright, though, and fell down.

I might have been mainly a mage but I had a ranger job and enough physical stats that the fall did not hurt me so I just stood back up returned on top of the desk and jumped down again.

“Deyahh!!”

After repeating such a bizarre process several more times, I finally managed to make a proper landing

Why did I go through such trouble simple I have no control over my powers

In the game, all you had to do was click on the skill or spell and it was automatically cast

In real life I can't do the same for each spell I use I gain mental input on how to use it but trying to control it is hard

The spell depends on the amount of mana used in it for example a basic fire spell requires about 5 mana but I don't really know how much mana is 5 mana

when I last used this spell I pumped too much mana and burned down my room

In short, the game mechanics for spell-casting don't apply here

"!!"

I could hear light footsteps approaching.

I hurriedly flew and landed on the bed quickly pulling up the blanket and pretending to sleep.

A few minutes later, the door opened and my mother, Lynn, came in.

“Where’s my lovely little baby? Mommy came for you…oh, are you napping?”

“Zzz…zzz…”

“Ah, sleep well my darling my Riea watch over you”

Thankfully, she thought I was really sleeping. glanced at me one last time and left the room.

I waited for my mother’s footsteps to disappear, then opened my eyes.

My mother Lynn Ainhadt was a foreign noble from a fallen family who came here to live with her relatives and ended up becoming (thanks to me) a queen

like most queens she led a lavish life, met with nobles, hosted and attended parties getting herself involved in court drama and politics so she rarely saw me after I turned two years old

as per tradition when a child was born in the Ainhadt the mother would have them for a day or two after which the baby would be kept in a shared nursery (there is a separate room for only the king's children)

after passing the trial of blood we are given back to our mothers to be raised

for royalty like me, it comes with a bonus package of our castle, a couple hundred servants and guards with a ton of luxury items(unfortunately no smartphones)

The sun slowly set and the skies darkened when I finished my training and plopped on the bed

creak!

A maid came in

the servants worked in shifts to take care of me 24/7 including my nanny but

This girl was not a nanny but a chambermaid and besides it seemed like an odd time for her to clean the room also she was alone (multiple chambermaids would clean a room )

Swoop !!!

I didn't even have time to think about what happened before she straggled my throat,

I reacted instinctively without thinking I flew

Maybe I was panicking at being murdered or maybe I just practised the 'fly' spell so much that I just used it

we crashed through the window(which was thankfully open)

I felt the air whip and sting my face,my would-be killer screaming her lungs out, people shouting below and chatbot saying something about altitude

flying at high speeds is not a good move when someone is trying to choke you

the maid tightly held on to my throat for her life chocking me as I flew

I tried to throw her off by veering right and left then I flew higher and higher

My vision was being blurred unconsciously my skin started to harder and turn black

The pressure on my throat eased

'Right this is Gree-' I recall before we dipped and somersaulting mid-air we safely crash-landed into the flower bed

My vision exploded with colourful polka dots while the guards and mages rushed to my side

Someone scooped me up gently

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a couple of mages with fire and magic circles and guards with swords and axes pointed at the maid who just looked at them and puked at their feet

"I wanna go back home"
