After that eventful night, the imperial family flipped out. It was not just because the Princess was possibly favoured by the Emperor but because she was capable of magecraft that could rival an awakened mage without even having a circle

For her part, Fae was blissfully unaware of the storm she was brewing up

(Solstadt:-The city of the sun)

"Wow" I looked at the colourful petals raining down from the sky the cries of the cheering crowd and the colourful stone and brick houses along the path to the Royal Castle...I mean Royal Palace...now that I think about it aren't they the same thing

Just upon entering the city, you could see how beautiful it was. The entrances of the city had big grey archways around them, with heavily armoured guards posted at each one. The entire city was walled off in the form of three concentric circles

The outer sober grey walls were thick and looked astonishingly powerful and if one inspected closer there were runes inscribed on every brick to infuse stone with magic and make them ten times stronger

The Empire's road curved suddenly along the fort wall to the main entrance, to prevent battering rams from getting a straight run to the mighty doors. At the top of the main gates, a wonderfully ornate, golden sun had been sculpted into the walls.

originally the numerous city walls, built in nine concentric circles, while being thick and strong had not been planned by a military mastermind. They were in fact added haphazardly, one by one, after the city had burst its seams and extended beyond the previous perimeter. That is why there were many weak points along each wall, which an enemy laying siege could easily exploit that’s why the 37th ruler Grand Empress Leona Ainhadt (the great-great-great grandmother of the current Emperor) rebuilt the city and also banished the 'eyesores' which included tramps, beggers, homeless and small craftsmen and traders

the city was renamed Solstadt and it became a place where nobles, mages and the rich members of the empire lived

The outside section was the biggest. It contained the highest population, mostly commoners and low-tier merchants, along with various guilds and other businesses, it was mockingly called the servent's capital which was quite right since the majority of the commoners made a living by serving the rich nobles

The Middle section was about the same size as the first and hosted a combination of small and big noble houses along with well-off merchants. It was also home to the market district. An entire section dedicated to a market where you could buy nearly anything you wanted.

Last was the inner section; this was the smallest among the three sections, but it hosted the largest building in the empire the royal palace

there was an air of celebration in Solstadt when the royal caravan arrived after the one-week journey

The city had been decorated extravagantly. Colourful banners hung proudly from the city walls, splashing festive beauty The roads had been freshly tiled in the sacred blue colour the colour of the sky

All the restaurants and shops served their customers free of charge for the seven days of revelry, subsidised at state expense

Mages cast an illusion that made it seem like a rain of flower petals fell from above as the royal convoy passed through the road to the Royal Palace

The five majestic and grand Towers of Magic were far more eye-catching than the palace. It couldn’t be helped. The towers were both the symbol of Ardel and the source of its power.

The House of the Beast or the Beast Tower was the first to greet us as we passed through the gateway. This impressive tower contains a beautifully vaulted fortified gateway which would have included an inner and outer gate, as well as a portcullis. Machicolations or murder holes can be seen here (as elsewhere on the castle perimeter) as a further defence against attackers.

It is here that the walls are strongest, being no less than 9m/30 ft thick and the tower itself rose to 60 meters/200 feet tall

The Royal Palace sat in a vast, grassy plain where the gardens were maintained, crossed by a series of roads, with some buildings being placed here and there near them. The plot of land, which was to be roughly the size of one of the city-states within the empire, if not larger, in fact even with an enchanted horse carriage(which can go up to speeds of 30 km/hour) would take nearly a day just to half the plot that's how big this place was

In the end, my mother and I were dropped off at the Black Rose palace

There were four Rose palaces placed close to each other

The Red Rose Palace, The Blue Rose Palace, The White Rose Palace, and The Black Rose Palace are each surrounded by a garden of (you guessed it !) roses of their respective colour each garden the size of a large village

"We will now begin the entrance of the Imperial family’s direct successors The fourth Empress Lynn Ainhadt and her daughter Imperial Princess Fae Ainhadt to the Red Rose Palace" the doorman announced as the servants (no there was no old butler named Sebas unfortunately, nor any maid dresses they haven't been invented yet )

after the whole bowing scrapping, flattery, lunch and dressing up was over I wore a black lance frock with a black rose headband a new fashion invented by the third prince for small girls and went for a small walk

Walking through the black rose garden maze is a calming experience. The dark petals of the roses contrast beautifully against the lush green foliage, creating a tranquil atmosphere. a gentle breeze carries the faint scent of roses, soothing my senses. The occasional rustle of leaves and distant chirping of birds add to the peaceful ambience inviting me to pause and admire their unique beauty in this quiet sanctuary and I should totally not worry about finding myself lost after all

I just got lost in the road of life....just wish that they could install some benches here for me to sit in

[mana detected !!]

huh ? mana...mabey there is some mana artifact or a secret item..it's not like I have anything better to do so I decided to check it out

what's the worst that can happen?

to be honest I originally planned this story to be a short parody with maybe three or four chapters and I did not expect it to gain more than a hundred views but now... I think I have 100+ chapters left and I hope you will continue to support this story

from the next chapter onwards the Princess of Dream arc will start and I promise it will be very interesting and a bit confusing
