-Chapter 4: Duel against a dragon

As hiyuki was walking towards the exit of the forest, there stood four 4 figures. Apparently the four figures were auguring with a girl. A girl in blue fancy clothes was talking to the three men.

‘Ciel ‘

What stood there is a girl named ciel, Hiyuki’s first friend. She walked straight to the four expressionless. The three figurines saw a girl with white hair and white clothes. Walking with a hum unknown to them. Fortunately ciel already knew who the girl in white was. Hiyuki arrived at the front of the four. A guy with a shoulder length blonde hair with sparkling equipment and two shabby guys with a hood covering their faces and has tattered robes.

“Um... what are you doing? “

“Hum! Another low leveled girl “

“Yuki~ these guys are trying to take me with them~”

“Um… what are you doing? “

“Scum! Are you friend of this one?  I’m a half-dragon and these two are vampires. Why such a lowly being like you dare to not accept our request? “

“Humph! Not with you pig face! “

“Then I have no other choice weakling, let’s have Fair duel two on three shall we? “

“Let’s see who wins! “

“Weakling…”

“Um… I think this development is too fast… why not settle each other by denying their request? “

“You are weak. We are strong. Follow the Strong’s rule and you shall be strong. “

The two guys moved in unison preparing the flashy guy’s things.

“Yuki~ sorry for dragging you into this mess and sorry for not reminding that the forest we went is actually dangerous… “

Hiyuki then tilted her head sideways looking cute.

“Are you two done? Serve you well; today you’ll see the truth of this game. The strong eats the weak, now I’ll give a warning. Succumb or die? “

The man looks at the two like a bug. Complete malice and further despair awaits them if they do succumb. But Hiyuki’s eyes were not dyed of hopelessness but happiness, a complete opposite of sadness. Her doll like eyes stares through the man like she saw prey.

“I’ll kill “

Hiyuki’s cold happy reply made the man shrouded and cold wet sweat covers his large manly back. But hiyuki didn’t noticed though the man was wearing metal armor covering the whole body. Half-dragons boast high defense in physical attacks. This race is not uncommon but also very sparse in number with only about 1 in out of 50 players. Making them very valuable.

“Very brave but you’ll soon die “

“Hey~ that’s my line~ “

Hiyuki’s reply made the man puzzled whether if she was dumb or just pure suicidal.

“Very brave indeed. Hey I tell, if you lose become my woman. “

“What if you lose? “

“I’ll stop pursuing you but either way weaklings doesn’t have any chance to beat me “

“Is that all? Why not give your things also? “

“Sure weaklings like you should deserve some credit for being this brave against the mighty me “

“Is that so… “

“Well start the duels “

The man moved his left hand downwards from the air revealing a gray board floating in front of him.

“Your name “

“Hiyuki “

A board then showed up below the gray board revealing letters like a keyboard. Letting go of his right arm holding a shield to type something in the keyboard like thing. A white golden laced board then showed up in front of hiyuki making her surprised. Not just that but she saw something peculiar between her board and the man’s board... her board which is like a status board, is a white one laced with a golden colored motif with a purple colored  gem in the uppermost middle part of her board. The difference is that the design, color, and size are completely different.

After she accepted the duel a barrier like thing surrounded the man and hiyuki encaging them in rectangular shaped dome of light.

“I’ll give you a chance to attack first. Because no matter how you attack you can’t ever beat my defense“

“Okay~ “

As she said, countless ice shaped like a blade formed around her. Going over five hundred in quantities and quality. She noticed something wrong with her magic, the blades which is as clear as the sky and more sharper is not like the last time she summoned them which is like a rugged blade with a lot of impurities.

“What? Did you just created this madness chant less? Hey tell me who are you really? “

“Eh? Is magic supposed to be chanted? “

“Dumb, players need to chant to activate the desired magic. Your magic… what spell is that? I’ve been in the frontlines for so long and I never knew there was an attribute like yours”

“My own original~ “

“Is magic supposed to be made that way? What principle did you use? How much magic do you even have creating that? Well either I’ll ask you until you succumb to me “

“Can I attack now? “

Hiyuki’s ice blades flew to the man in an unbelievable speed. Countless ice blades hit the man, but never moved. Hiyuki increased the flying ice blades to hit the man one by one. Going over fifty shots per two seconds in parallel.

The man’s patience is weakening making him irritated in the barrage of magic simultaneously. Then the man moved a little back seeing the ice blades behind hiyuki is lessening.

“What kind of magic is this…? “

Preparing a sword still sheathed in his waist. He pulled out the sword beside the shield which he was holding with his left arm. The sword shines a golden color. Eventually the ice blades reserves behind hiyuki were exhausted the man hastily moved forward. But hiyuki once more created another set of five hundred ice blades in parallel. Seeing that, the man was scared a little.

“Monster “

The man was scared, seeing how his feet’s wiggles like a worm. He charged forward with a glowing sword in hand and shield defending him with the ice blades. Hiyuki saw this and increased the ice blades flying over the man. Going one hundreds shots per second; her reserves run dry with seconds but replenished it again by creating more.

The man slowly moved forward without slowing down. Hiyuki saw this and readied her overly large scythe on her arms like a grim reaper. Hiyuki moved forward with a light step making an attacking stance over the man just five meters in front of her. The man frowned seeing hiyuki can also do close combat, other than the reason why he frowned it that hiyuki is like a grim reaper. A doll like face, small body, white colored hair. The man thought,

‘The third… SHIT why did I fight against the third’

Realizing that, the man moved backwards like running. Hiyuki perused the man with his shield waiting for Hiyuki’s attack. But the attack never came and ice blades stopped or rather disappeared in the air. He moved little and he felt something on his neck, like sharp knife pricking your skin.

“Now do I win? “

The man sweated he didn’t look sideways nor back ways and only felled the faint pain he felt on his neck. His eyes narrowed looked down.

‘A scythe?!?! Where did her....’

“Um... Hey~ will you surrender “

“Never! “

The body of the man glowed, his body, which was a human changed into a shaped of a dragon. Slowly forming the outline of a real dragon, hiyuki was surprised to see a real life dragon, or an in-game dragon. Hiyuki recovered her scythe that fell on the ground and prepared a fighting stance once more.

She breathed deeply, cleared her mind full of excitement, and formed extra ice blades. The dragon moved and clearly fell on the ground.

“?!?”

Seeing the dragon’s movement, it made hiyuki feel a little funny, just how sloppily the dragon fell on his knees. The dragon once more tried to move, this time the dragon successfully stood up on four legs.

‘Why did I have to use this...? Grr… ‘

Having used the half-dragon’s race racial skills, Dragonification, can temporarily enable the user to transform into a form of a dragon. But, the side effects are terrible, unable to properly walk, the weight of the dragon’s body. For him this the second time he used this skill.

‘Even though I should have at least known to use this body since I fought that person’

Other than that, after dragonification, players are unable to even move for at least six hours and can only be used once every week. Has duration of about thirty minutes in exchange for high defense in both physical and magical. The merit is, the originals, users are able to exert powerful inextinguishable flames through their big mouths and move their like a whip without in difficulties.

‘Heh. The third is probably the fairy race. If I’m correct the fairy race doesn’t have much strength and can only inflict magical attacks ‘

Hiyuki now in state that amazed changed her expression even though her face is expressionless to a happy smile.

‘Oh a dragon, is dragon supposed to be in this game?’

Hiyuki bent her neck sideways like asking how you did it. Hiyuki’s cute face in between her shoulder looks cute.

‘Then why not use light magic?’

Hiyuki tried to use her magic, light magic. This time hiyuki is sure to actually do her dream, firing laser beams through her small little fragile index finger. With the help of magical operations she can now finely adjust the size, energy, and speed of her magic.

‘Hm… laser... laser… imagine light in a single point... ‘

Hiyuki raised her fragile white arm and pointed her index into the big body of the dragon in the shape of gun. After small light particles gathered in small finger forming a small ball light so shiny that it blinds your eyes if you straight into the ball of light.

‘What is she doing? She trying to blind me? Humph… try me’

The dragon’s body glowed a golden tint covering the dragon’s body in a golden light. Forming hexagonal shapes in the dragons big body in a scale like pattern, covering each and every part.

‘Is this enough? What should call this? Hmm… death ray, light ray, ray? I don’t know?’

Hiyuki’s whining over the name of her magic only prolonged the gathering of magic in her finger, rising the contained magic little by little, showing signs of slightly burnt ground or hot air only made hiyuki frustrated and annoyed. The density of the blinding light made the surrounding only hot.

‘Ah let’s call it extinction ray... hehehe’

Hiyuki’s face showed a little bit of smile unseen from the dragon. Hiyuki’s magic called [extinction ray] is fired to a straight line into the belly of the dragon obliterating the surround with it. Hiyuki opened her purple colored gem like doll like eyes, astonished at the scene in front of her. The ground is gouged showing the trail of her magic, the plants are dead either dead by intense heat or burned from the effects of Hiyuki’s magic.

Unfortunately the smokes are floating in the place of the dragon. Showing no signs of movement, hiyuki moved a little forward. Eventually the dust unfolds and there stood the heavily injured dragon.

‘What magic is that? To be able to injure me’

In the stomach of the dragon, there, a small burnt hole. The dragon’s shells are all burnt, cracked and broken in some places.

‘Even though I activated my skill to at least negate and spread the damage to my body to lessen its power it seems that the load was to powerful… ‘

The dragon’s unique skill, [Blitz], is skill that spreads the damage to the whole body while as negating the effects of the attack and has a certain ‘limit’ to hold. And that is the reason why even though the attack was pointed at a single small straight line, the power of which exceeds the ‘limit’ of skill broke the film of light, distributed the ‘excess’ damage to every part of the body  and shot through the dragon’s belly.

‘Guh… this is a game… and why do I feel pain…’

Hiyuki was breath taken; the small hole is spurting clots of red blood, creating a small puddle of dragon blood began to regenerate at a speed visible to the naked human eye. The dragon moved his big, thick, hard neck, pointing his sharp teeth that can like bite metals to pieces, to hiyuki. Seeing this hiyuki moved away to avoid the impending ‘breath’ that dragon will blow. Hiyuki is in confusion, looking around to see to where to hide at.

‘Oh?!?! His moving his neck… is he going to do ‘that’? Ah..! Where to hide.’

The dragon shone his big sharp teeth into the outside, the air changes, gathering into the dragon’s mouth.

Hiyuki saw this in begins to panic, hiyuki looked for a skill to at least stop some of the breath attack.

Hiyuki remembered that she has a skill called barrier magic, she activated the magic, she glowed white and a film like last time formed around her body but it didn’t work resulting for the film to disperse into the air like a dust being swept by a broom.(thanos snap his finger style Lol)

Hiyuki only felt more annoyed.  The dragon’s mouth flickered a small amount of flame and there the entire mouth burst into flames breathing only more air to fuel the ‘flame’. Like in science, a fire won’t work without oxygen and thus a fire won’t start without nitrogen. By only absorbing only more air the breath intensifies at an abominable rate like none other resulting the nearby surrounding to melt by the intense heat being expelled from the big mouth of the dragon. By this time the dragon was ready to fire his ‘breath’ but only acuminated more for him to watch the panicked white girl. Seeing people suffer is his fetish. (Don’t ask me why?)

‘Hm... What image is the best for a barrier... dome… sphere… cage… hng… just imagine something’

The body of hiyuki once more shone a white color, exposing the scale like pattern of her barrier. But it is only a small portion of her body that it’s covering and other than that it is misaligned with the other scales making it ugly. To this problem she created more scales now more or like shaped like a hexagon side by side. The thickness is just as paper and the size of each hexagon is as small as an egg but now that hiyuki rebuilt the barrier once more, the thickness is a thick as a dictionary and as big as an ordinary floor tile. Side by side made it look like a beehive.

‘Haha, this single hex has a magic of about my ordinary ice blade set.’
