Unfortunate Circumstances

After the bell rang Leo took Aiden to the nurses office and said he needed to go to the bathroom and left Aiden alone with the nurse. 40 minutes later Yu Jie walked out of the office feeling bad for Nurse Jules. The poor woman cried for 30 minutes straight as she examined the state of Aiden’s body.

 

 “How was it?”

 

Turning towards the direction of the voice Aiden was surprised to find Leo leaning against the wall next to the nurse’s office door. Pushing himself off the wall Leo held out his hand to Aiden. “Nevermind let's go I’ll walk you towards the gate”

 

Holding Leo’s hand Aiden was led out of the school and stood at the gate with Leo as they waited for their car’s to arrive. Spotting Grayson walking over Yu Jie sighed. Grayson walked over a smile on his face as he slung his arm over Leo and Aiden’s shoulders. “Let's wait together” 

 

The three of them standing together garnered a lot of attention from the other students as they whispered amongst themselves. Feeling uncomfortable, Aiden pulled away from Graysons arm and put his hand up to shield the sun. Grayson shrugged at Aiden’s actions and started to talk to Leo. “Hey Leo Let's go out to eat tomorrow”

 

Without looking at him Leo just nodded his head “What time?” 

 

Humming Grayson got closer to Leo’s ear and whispered “Any time you want I’ll even skip class if you want”

 

Gagging in his mind Yu Jie blankly looked at the passing cars hoping sebas would come to save him from this hell hole. Just as he had the thought, Yu Jie watched as his family car drove up in front of them and parked. Getting out of the car Sebas walked around and approached Aiden. 

 

Seba’s expression was cautious as he looked at Leo and Grayson but quickly turned into a gentle smile as he looked at Aiden.  “I’m sorry for arriving late I was caught up in traffic”

 

Aiden smiled and his eyes softened as Seba’s took his backpack “It’s fine there is no rush”

 

Leo standing at the side was surprised at Aiden’s slight change when speaking to Seba’s and couldn't help but interject on their conversation. “Are you heading home already?”

 

Turning to look at Leo Aiden nodded “Yep I have to go home now...b-but I'll see you tomorrow”

 

Nodding his head Leo stretched out his hand and ruffled Aiden’s hair “Alright I'll see you tomorrow”

 

Giving Leo a smile Aiden hesitated and then turned to dig through his backpack, pulling out his phone Aiden looked back at Leo and handed his phone to him “C-Can you give me your contact information?”

 

Taking Aiden’s phone Leo nodded and put his information and gave Aiden his number and added his social media “It's good that you remembered”

 

Beside Leo, Grayson held in his curses as he watched Leo give Aiden his contact information and grit his teeth. As Leo handed back Aiden’s phone Grayson suddenly reached out and took the phone and much to Leo’s surprise input his contact information also, then he turned to Aiden and handed back Aiden’s phone with a smile “Here now you have both of our contact’s since you're Leo’s friend if you ever need help feel free to text me”

 

Aiden reached out to grab his phone but Grayson didn't let go. Grayson saw he finally had Leo’s attention and smiled wider. “I'm sorry about earlier come eat with me and Leo tomorrow, my treat”

 

Ding~[System: Affection meter has increased for Grayson Vice, % is now 26%]

 

[Yu Jie: No thanks, take it back and why?! Leo come on]

 

[System: He’s so sly acting all nice like he wasn't the one that threatened you earlier] 

 

Taking his phone back Aiden nodded and waved goodbye to the two then turned around and got into the car. Sitting in the car Yu Jie acted as if he hadn't seen Seba’s concerned expression and looked out the window while talking to his Little Bun.

 

[System: Isn't Leo too easily swayed?]

 

[Yu Jie: Well that's easily explained]

 

[System: Do explain]

 

[Yu Jie: Leo has a bad reputation among the high society. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that he has fought with all of the kid’s of the wealthy and influential in A city. The reason for his fights is most likely due to his high sense of justice. He's the type to believe people can change for the better….gives others the benefit of the doubt. That being said He’s still a spoiled rich kid.The only reason he can get away with it is most likely due to his family...not sure how yet but there must be a reason he can run rampant]

 

[System:  I’ll look into his family after this also if that's true how did he die with a family that's capable of protecting him to this extent]

 

[Yu Jie: mmm I’m curious about that also]

 

[System: haa so to say Leo is still pretty sheltered and innocent adding to that he most likely has a supportive and loving family, he's an only child, his parents dote on him and are rich and all those ingredients mix together to make]

 

[Yu Jie: A prince in a golden cage clueless to the fact he lives in a cage] 

 

[System: It's very similar to the “A frog in a well knows nothing about the sea” saying]

 

[Yu Jie: Yeah Grayson can tell Leo all he wants about the sea but I'll be the one to show it to him] 

 

[System: ….Y-You aren't cheating on papa are you dad?]

 

[Yu Jie: What?! Where did you…..”Cough” W-Well I can see how my word are giving that impression but I assure you I am not]

 

[System: It's ok I'll keep you in check (`ー´)]

 

[Yu Jie: there's no need, I just feel sorry for Leo Ok! (╬ Ò﹏Ó)]

 

Entering the house sebas disappeared so Yu Jie made his way upstairs assuming sebas had gone to make dinner. Walking into the room Yu Jie closed the lavender curtains and made his way to the wardrobe to change. Just as he slid into his silk pajama pants Yu Jie heard a knock at the door.

 

Opening the door Yu Jie was slightly startled to see sebas standing in front of the door with a dark expression on his face. Stepping aside, sebas led a young man in a white lab coat into the room and led Yu Jie to sit on the bed. 

 

“Sebas what is going on?”

 

“Young master needs to be checked by a doctor so I brought Dr. J to check your wound”

 

Stunned Yu Jie didn't know what to say and could only watch as Dr. J unbonded his wrist. Sebas stayed in the room the whole time looking like a stone statue. Hearing that Aiden was ok and didn't suffer any big injuries, Sebas sighed in relief. After seeing the doctor out sebas returned and kneeled at Aiden’s feet. 

 

“Young Master...Can you tell me what happened?

 

Sighing Aiden made sebas stand and spoke honestly “There were some boys that tripped me in class”

 

Sebas face contorted in anger and he looked ready to go and beat someone. Gripping his arm, Yu Jie couldn't help but chuckle. “Sebas its fine the young man you saw the one with blue eyes helped me and gave those boys a good beating” 

 

Looking into my eyes, sebas tried to see if I was lying only to see the happiness in Aiden’s eyes. Sighing Sebas calmed himself down and patted Aiden’s head. “Well then we will have to invite that young man over for dinner to thank him” 

 

“That's a good idea! I'll invite him and set a date”

 

Smiling sebas nodded “Alright well then I'll head down to make dinner now”

 

“Ok!”

 

Walking out of the young masters room Sebas walked downstairs and felt everyone's eyes on him, raising his hand sebas spoke “The young master is fine...it seems he's made a friend and will invite him over sometime soon”

 

One of the maids was sweeping and leaned on her broom as she looked at sebas sceptically “A friend? How reliable is this so-called “Friend”

 

A young man holding a bag of trash sighed “Mari is right...It won't be like last time right?

 

Another voice sounded from the kitchen “Well isn't it our job to scare away filthy people”

 

A girl walked in from outside a potted plant in her hand “The young master needs friends other than just me and Jack so I hope the boy isn't coming with bad intentions”

 

Sighing sebas watched as the others spoke out their worries, everyone working in the mansion have known the young master since he was born and remembered watching him learn to walk and those like Lily and Jack learned to walk alongside the young master and see him as a brother. It's no surprise that Master Shin couldn't win against the 10 people in the mansion and in the end decided to take back the choice to send the young master abroad. 

The young master in question was currently staring at the mirror in his room. If anyone had entered at that moment they would have been stunned. In the mirror Aidens reflection swayed and rippled like water with a pebble thrown into it and then a young man wearing a white robe appeared in the mirror his long red hair was wet and dripped with water. The young man had a towel in his hands, head down as he dried his hair. 

 

Yu Jie’s lips twitched and he called out to the young man. “Noah?

 

The young man suddenly looked up, his golden eyes widening as he stared at the mirror, suddenly the young man approached the mirror and held his hand up to touch Aiden’s face. Then a light and airy voice sounded “Your appearance is almost as outrageous as mine”

 

Laughter spilled out of Yu Jie’s mouth and he hummed “Is that so”

 

Taking a step back Noah smiled “How are you? 

 

Sighing, Yu Jie put a hand to his neck “I’m holding up alright, what about you?

 

Sighing Noah walked farther into the room. As Noah disappeared Yu Jie was slightly puzzled but took the time to finally get a good look at the room. From what he could see from the mirror there is a big canopy bed made out of wood further in the back of the room, along with a table piled with white gourd-shaped bottles. The bedroom was separated by large curtains and led to the room the mirror was in. The room looked to be a study with a large rectangle wooden table in the center that was stacked with books.  The room was really tidy and clean if you ignored the scattered books that littered the floor.

 

After a minute Noah returned carrying a wooden mahogany chair, placing the chair in front of the mirror Noah sat down and let his body slump in the chair. Yu Jie figured Noah had a lot to say so he opened the door to his room and left to the study. He rolled the office chair out of the study and into his room. Seeing Yu Jie walk in pushing a chair laughter spilled from Noah’s mouth and the tiredness of his mind seemed to lighten. Making sure to lock his door Yu Jie walked back over to the mirror and sat down in the chair. “So what's bothering you? Need my help?”

 

A sigh slipped out of Noah’s mouth and a grim smile appeared on his lips and his eyes that drooped slightly at the corners gave him an even more melancholy air. “I took in two disciples Yumao and Xiaolang….Yumao is the mission target”

 

Humming Yu Jie hugged his legs to his chest “And?

 

Noah subconsciously ran his finger through his long hair “Well...the child...Yumao is afraid of swords, he has a very tragic past and has trauma from a past incident but…”

 

The corner of Yu Jie’s lips twitched “But he has a high affinity with sword arts right?

 

Noah nodded solemnly “Yes...terrifyingly so” 

 

Rubbing his chin on his knees Yu Jie began to think “what have you tried so far?

 

Noah’s face fell and he laughed mockingly “At this point what haven't I tried….As you can tell I have been trying to find a solution but nothing seems to work...I looked through Yu Chuntian’s whole peak and did not find one clue I keep feeling as if something is off”

 

Frowning Yu Jie straightened up “Resistance from the boy or resistance from the world?

 

Looking up Noah’s face was ugly as he repeated the question to himself then he looked up and made eye contact with Yu Jie “The world”

 

Yu Jie bit his lip and called out “Little Bun”

 

[System: It seems that the world is slightly unhappy with Noah's actions and decided to go from E level to C level I was busy covering our tracks and it slipped through my radar]

 

[Noah: Ha of course I have dog shit luck even now]

 

“In that case…..why not teach him something else in the meantime, I know it seems like a waste of time for someone so talented but you don't really have another choice right now”

 

Biting his lip it took Noah a while until he finally nodded slowly “No what you said makes sense...I might have been pushing him too hard and ended up being counter productive” 

 

Relieved Yu Jie smiled “It's not your fault...The two children are your first disciples correct?

 

Noah sighed and then nodded “That's right..before this I was in closed-door cultivation after I suffered an injury and missed the previous selection, though I wouldn't have chosen anyone anyways”

 

Yu Jie’s brows furrowed and he asked in concern “Was the injury bad? Are you ok now? Do you need something from me? Did it hurt? Why didn't you contact me when you were injured?!

 

Startled by Yu Jie’s stern voice Noah answered slowly “I was knocked unconscious and was in a coma for a month as soon as I arrived….when I woke up the wound had closed and no longer hurt, Plus it also looks like you are injured”

 

Yu Jie felt light-headed and held his head in his hands “This isn't a serious injury it's different…. But I’m glad you're ok”

 

Waving his hand in the air Noah laughed “I'm glad to hear it isn't serious also Isn't it natural for you to worry Yu Jie, Haven't you always been a nervous wreck?”

 

Showing his injured arm Yu Jie snorted “Isn't that a bit harsh aren't you learning bad things over there?”

 

Laughter rang in the room and Yu Jie smiled watching Noah double over in his chair “Well I’m all alone over here and who knows what you guys have been learning, I can't be left behind”

 

Yu Jie shook his head and chuckled “Seems to me like you're doing pretty well for yourself Peak Elder Yu Chuntian”

 

Noah Sighed and looked at Yu Jie with a worshipping expression “Ah If only I had your experience and wisdom, things would be so much easier”

 

Laughing Yu Jie stood up from his chair and patted the mirror as if he was patting Noah’s head “Its alright soon you will also have the same experience….just remember pain follows closely after, don't bite off more than you can chew Chuntian”

 

Lowering his head Noah fiddled with his fingers “I am well aware of the dangers...Thank you”

 

Sighing Yu Jie softened his tone “But If you need help just contact me...I will always make time for you, after all, we are friends”

 

Looking up Noah flashed a bright smile “I missed you Yu Jie so of course, I will contact you often my friend”

 

Suddenly Noah stood up and rushed to his door and in one swift motion opened the door. From Yu Jie’s view he couldn't see what was going on so he stayed quiet. Following the sound of the door opening were soft exclamations from what sounded like children. 

 

“M-Master?!

 

“O-OH!

 

A sigh escaped Noah's lips as he looked at his two disciples of his that had fallen into the room. “XiaoLang, Quin Yumao, what is the meaning of this?

 

XiaoLan looked at Yumao and stuttered “W-We Ummm”

 

Yumao spoke with confidence “XiaoLan had a question for master so we came to request guidance from master”

 

Noah’s head throbbed and he casted a quick look at the room Yu Jie was in before replying “Master is bus-”

 

A refined and soft voice rang through the room as Yu Jie laughed “Its fine I was just leaving anyways, You should focus on your disciples Chuntian”

 

Noah’s lips twitched and his voice couldn't help but soften “I wont see you out then”

 

A deep chuckle came from the bedroom “That's alright I will contact you another day” 

 After talking with Noah Yu Jie thought it would be fun to spy on Grayson but then suddenly felt like life was cruel. From what he could see Grayson….didn't have a very good family atmosphere. His father was cold to him and his mother put more attention on Grayson’s younger brother who seemed to be around 6 years old. On the blue holographic screen, Grayson got home and scowled at the sight of his mother spoon-feeding his baby brother and made his way upstairs only to be called by his father. Once he walked into his fathers office he saw his father talking on the phone. His father only briefly glanced at his son before throwing a card at Grayson with allowance money for the month in it and then waved him away. 

 

[System: …...I want to say I don't feel sorry but I do]

 

[Yu Jie: …...Should I just take these children under my wing]

 

[System: Grayson is too pitiful] 

 

[Yu Jie: In order to take him under my wing...I would need a reason for Aiden to sympathise with grayson] 

 

[System: Oh Oh! I know]

 

[Yu Jie: What?]

 

[System: Grayson is going to go with his dad to sign a contract and messes up and gets reprimanded by his dad]

 

[Yu Jie: mmm...but how would I be able to be there?]

 

[System: The company they need to sign the contract with is a branch company of Aiden’s father’s company]  

 

[Yu Jie: When is the meeting being held?]

 

[System: Friday afternoon]

 

[Yu Jie: In 3 days then]

 

[System: Yeah...I think it would be perfect since Aiden can sympathize with having a strict father]

 

[Yu Jie: Lets try that….How did you know this information?]

 

[System: I finally found the book °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°]

 

[Yu Jie: ☆ ～('▽^人) My Little Bun is really the best! Send it to me so I can read it later]

 

After dinner Yu Jie laid in bed and opened his messaging app and decided to text Leo. He sent a simple message. 

 

Aiden:

 (Are you asleep?)

 

Leo: 

(Not yet, what's up?)

 

Aiden:

(Are we going to go eat tomorrow?) 

 

Leo:

(Do you want to go?)

 

Aiden:

(If you don't want me to go….just tell me)

 

Leo:

(It's not that)

(We can go eat out during lunch time..I'll talk to Grayson)

 

Aiden:

(Alright, well I'm going to bed see you tomorrow)

 

Leo:

(Alright Goodnight)

 

Covering himself with the sheets Yu Jie started to doze off when he heard his phone vibrate. Rubbing his eyes, Yu Jie reached to the bedside table and put his glasses on. Looking at the phone Yu Jie raised his eyebrow. 

 

[Yu Jie: Show me what Grayson is doing right now….Actually rewind it to before he sent me a text]

 

[System: Ok]

 

A holographic screen appeared in front of Yu Jie and he sat up slightly in bed as he watched Grayson on the big screen. Grayson walked out of his dad's office with red bloody cuts on his palms. He made his way to his room and slammed the door. Grayson looked down at his palms that were bloody and tears streamed down his face. He let his body slide down the door and sat on the floor, occasionally muffled sobs rang out in the dark room. Then breaking the suffocating scene Grayson’s phone rang and the screen lit up. On the screen was a message from Leo.

 

Leo:

(Tomorrow we can go eat at the restaurant you want...Aiden said he will go)

 

With his fingers trembling, Grayson replied to Leo.

 

Grayson V:

(Alright what time)

 

Leo:

(We can leave a bit before lunch starts)

 

Grayson V:

(Alright)

 

Hesitating Grayson opened up a new chat and sent a text. 

 

Grayson V:

(Leo said you agreed to go?)

 

Aiden:

(Yes)

 

Grayson V:

(....Alright)

 

Seeing Grayson blankly staring at the phone screen with red eyes, Yu Jie felt his heart squeeze and couldn't help but send another message to Grayson. 

 

Aiden:

(I hope we can get along and you can rest assure me and Leo are just friends and it will stay that way...I promise)

 

Grayson heard his phone ring and looked at the screen seeing Aiden's message Grayson didn't know why but he laughed until more tears ran down his cheeks.

 

Grayson V:

(Ok I’ll hold you to your word Aiden)

 

Just as Yu Jie was hesitating wondering if saying good night would be to OOC Grayson sent another message. 

 

Grayson V:

(Goodnight)

 

Aiden:

(Goodnight...)

 

Looking at the screen Grayson mumbled to himself “How ironic that the first person to say goodnight to me isn't Leo but this little boy”

 

Hearing Graysons mumbling Yu Jie sighed [Yu Jie: Grayson might just need affection]

 

[System: Seeing as his affection % just flew to 50% you are correct]

 

[Yu Jie: What?! (⊙_⊙)]

 

[System: It went from -10 to 50%]

 

[Yu Jie: ….]

 

[System: (ಥ﹏ಥ) I can't help but feel bad.. Feels like we took advantage of someone's lowest moment to get his wall down]

 

[Yu Jie: ……...L-Lets be nice to Grayson]

 

[System: Putting a tracking device on his phone as we speak]

 

[Yu Jie: Good]

 

In the morning Yu Jie went about his routine and met sebas downstairs after eating Yu Jie let sebas drive him to school. Walking into the classroom Aiden sat down next to Leo and greeted him. 

 

“Good morning Leo”

 

Opening his eyes Leo raised his head off the desk and smiled “Morning Aiden”

 

Class went by quick and soon Leo poked Aiden and put a finger to his lips motioning Aiden to be quiet. Grabbing Aiden’s wrist Leo pulled him and slowly snuck out of the room. Once out of the classroom Aiden looked at Leo confused.

 

“There are still ten minutes left in class”

 

“We would be late to our next class if we don't leave early the restaurant we want to go to is twenty minutes away from school on foot”

 

“Oh”

 

Walking to the back of the school they spotted Grayson leaning against the gates. Seeing us walk over, Grayson straightened up and walked over, slinging his arm around Leo and Aiden as they walked. This time Aiden didn't pull away, noticing this Grayson didn't realize the corner of his mouth curved up slightly.

 

The three of them scaled the gate and made their way away from school Yu Jie glanced at Grayson worried about his hands but couldn't say anything. Yu Jie finally understood why Grayson wore black fingerless gloves and felt his heart squeeze. As they entered the restaurant Grayson gave his name and they were led to a table in the restaurant's top floor with a view outside and downstairs. There were other guests but the tables were reasonably placed to not bother each other. 

 

Looking around Yu Jie praised this place in his mind and couldn't help but look around a bit more letting his gaze roam. Seeing him like this Leo laughed and much to his own surprise Grayson also chuckled but quickly covered it with a cough. 

 

Aiden turned his head with glittering eyes as he pointed outside making Grayson and Leo look over. “Look at how pretty the scenery is! The pond has pretty fish,did you see the giant red fish?”

 

Aidens enthusiasm was contagious and soon the three of them were chatting and laughing. When the waiter came to take their order he was shocked to see Grayson laughing. Grayson’s family just opened up this restaurant and Grayson and his family came often but the waiter had never seen Grayson without a scowl on his face. 

 

Coming back to his senses the waiter took their orders and left like his butt was on fire. Grayson sat at the table with his head on his hand and watched Leo and Aiden talking and felt like it wasn't all that bad.

Seeing the food coming and hearing the constant notifications Yu Jie was so happy he seemed to be radiating light. All of them began to eat in silence and the atmosphere was very harmonious. Soon the three of them were leaning back in their chair’s stomachs full and laziness made them not want to move. 

 

Once they got some energy back they were alarmed to realise class was about to start and the three of them laughed as they ran all the way back to school. Leo and Aiden said goodbye to Grayson and made it through the door just as the bell rang. 

 

Before the end of the last class Leo was called by the teacher and before leaving Leo told Aiden to wait for Grayson to come get him before he left. 

 

[Yu Jie: What happened to “Don't be alone with him”]

 

[System: What happened to “He’s a bit scary”]

 

[Yu Jie: whose side are you on?! Scram (°ㅂ°╬)]

 

The bell rang and Aiden watched as people flooded out of the room. Aiden simply put his things in his desk and grabbed his bag, put it on and sat down again, then he turned to look out of the window. A couple of minutes passed and Yu Jie began to panic. 

 

[Yu Jie: Is sebas waiting outside?] 

 

[System: He seems to be caught in traffic. He should be here in...20 minutes?]

 

[Yu Jie: phew ok]

 

[System: You could just leave...it wouldn't be OOC]

 

[Yu Jie: I know but...I kinda want to see if he will come]

 

Just as Yu Jie said that the door to the classroom opened, Turning his head, Yu Jie had a slight smile and was about to greet Grayson when his expression fell. Standing at the door was Lex and his three thugs. Smirking, Lex closed the door and made his lackeys block the doors. Seeing that lex had a pair of scissors in his hand Yu Jie actually began to panic. 

 

[System: Get out of the room now dad!]

 

[Yu Jie: F*ck where is that asshole, Grayson?!]

 

Climbing over the desk Aiden scrambled to try and reach the door that wasn't blocked but Lex caught him by his backpack and Aiden ended up on the ground watching in terror as Lex got on top of him and waved the scissors around like a mad man. 

 

“Hey Aiden, did you know that your old friend Jace promised me a brand new luxury car in exchange for some of your hair? 

 

A shiver ran down Yu Jie’s spine and his scalp went numb. [Yu Jie: WTF is Jace a pervert?!]

 

[System: Don't ask me?! Just run!]

 

Seeing Aiden’s dazed look Lex grabbed at Aidens dark purple hair and pulled hard causing Aiden to scream. Satisfied Lex waved the scissors in front of Aiden's face as if teasing him. Genuine fear gripped Yu Jie and his whole body trembled. 

 

[Yu Jie: I-ISAAC H-Help!]

 

[Yu Jie: ISAAC?!!!!]

 

The door to the room rattled violently and Lex took advantage of the angle Aiden was facing to chop off a section of Aiden's hair in a swift motion, Aidens whole body stiffened and tears streamed down his face as he watched Lex swing his hair in front of him. Suddenly the door was viciously kicked and before he knew what was happening Lex was groaning on the ground and holding his waist. Yu Jie couldn't see clearly because of his tears but he suddenly felt someone drape a jacket over his shoulders and saw a pair of sport shorts in his vision. Then suddenly he saw a pair of mismatched eyes in front of him. Then a cold voice rang through the room and the boy spoke.

 

“Are you hurt?

 

Gripping the boys blazer subconsciously Yu Jie felt the man's cold clothes and couldn't help but lean closer. “N-No”

 

“Lex you piece of shit, Didn't Leo already warn you?! Do you need me to personally beat you half to death for you to stop causing trouble?!

 

Hearing the angry voice Yu Jie peeked around the boy at Grayson that was kicking Lex. Suddenly relief washed over Aiden and he couldn't help but call out to the angry boy.

 

“G-Grayson uwaah” Not able to hold back Aiden started to cry loudly. Seeing him like this for the first time Grayson suddenly felt guilty so he walked over with an awkward expression and helped Aiden up and dusted him off but that only made Aiden cry harder. Awkwardly Grayson patted Aiden on the head and sighed. 

 

“I-It's ok”

 

“G-Grayson m-my h-hair”

 

“I-It's not that bad”

 

“Uwaahh y-you're just saying t-that to be n-nice” 

 

“N-No it's ok j-just needs to be trimmed”

 

“D-Don't Lie I look ugly, how am I supposed to get married n-now?”

 

“Y-You want to get married? I-Isn't it too soon!?”

 

“N-No Uwahhh”

 

Looking at the other two boys Grayson decided to drag them in too, with that in mind he made a gesture to the two boys and told Aiden.

 

“L-Look here these two think you look ok, Right?”

 

Dion swallowed his words and simply nodded but in Aidens eyes the boy couldn't even look at him so he shouted “H-He doesn't!”

 

Dion was about to argue when he was interrupted by Claude “That's not true I think you look cute”

 

Looking at the handsome boy Yu Jie instinctively pouted his lips “R-Really?”

 

With a soft look and soft tone, Claude nodded “Of course” 

 

Nodding Aiden wiped his tears with his sleeve “T-Then I’ll believe you” 

 

Looking around at the messy classroom Dion sighed “It's a good thing we overheard Felix say that Lex was up to no good again...or we might have not made it”

 

Slightly surprised, Yu Jie looked down to hide the smile on his lips. 

 

[Yu Jie: Thank you, Isaac!]

 

[Isaac: Are you ok?]

 

[Yu Jie: Y-Yeah just Lex came at me with scissors that crazy psycho]

 

Walking with his friends Felix’s steps faltered. A dark look flashed in his eyes then as if nothing happened he began walking again.

 

[Isaac: It’s good they got there in time]

 

Seeing that Aiden was hanging his head and hadn't said anything Claude spoke up and Aiden finally looked up. “We should go to the nurse”

 

Confused Aiden spoke up “Huh? W-why?”

 

Dion smiled and made a cutting motion near his hair “She's decent at cutting hair, you wouldn't want to worry your parents right? plus you're injured”

 

Aiden's mind flashed an image of his father and he grimaced slightly before sebas worried expression came to mind. Right his father might not care but he had people at home that would 

With that in mind, Aiden agreed.

 

When Jule’s saw him she almost fainted “W-What's wrong with you?!

 

Slightly embarrassed Yu Jie fiddled with his hair “I g-”

 

“Someone cut his hair so we need you to fix it also check his arm”

 

Jules' face flushed red in anger and she yelled “Who? Who cut Aiden’s hair?! And why is his arm hurt again?!

 

Claude stopped her before she started cussing and spoke up “We already took care of it”

 

Grumbling Jules sighed “Fine”

 

After checking Aiden's arm and making sure he was ok, Jules did a bit of trimming and evened out his bangs Aiden's hair fell right above his eye and no longer covered his eyes. His jewel-like purple eyes were at full display and made the four people speechless and their thoughts ran wild. 

 

Dion thought this little brother is a bit more masculine now, what a surprise.

 

Grayson thought Aiden looks better with short hair. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise? 

 

Jules thought  Maybe now he won't be bullied as much

 

Claude thought I’m a bit unhappy, he went from cute to handsome….I like cute things

 

If Yu Jie could hear what Claude was thinking he might have just punched Claude in embarrassment yelling So you only like me when I'm cute? All of the people in this book are psychos!

 

Grayson said thank you to Claude and Dion and introduced them to Aiden. Then he took Aiden by the wrist and led him to the front gate. As they walked Grayson hesitated and then opened his mouth.

 

“Are you going to tell Leo…”

 

Looking at Graysons lonely back Yu Jie shook his head “No I just got a haircut….that's all”

 

Sighing in relief Grayson suddenly felt guilty again and explained to Aiden. “I was on my way to go meet you but Veronica interrupted me and wouldn't let me leave, by the time I was on my way I ran into Claude and Dion. I was greeting them when Felix Arcadius passed by saying that Lex had gone to your class a crazy look in his eyes”

 

Nodding in understanding Yu Jie didn't hold it against Grayson “It's fine stuff like this happens”

 

Feeling conflicted Grayson kept quiet but his thoughts were running wild. I should have ignored Veronica, I also shouldn't have stalled when I was leaving….wouldn't Leo break up with him if he found out? Well, I wouldn't blame him...aren't I scummy...do I even like Leo that much? To me it seems like both Leo and Aiden are the same to me...so wouldn't that mean I just want frie-

 

Suddenly Grayson felt as if an electric current ran through his body and his mind became hazy Eh? What was I just thinking? …..Veronica, right I should talk to her tomorrow. 

 

Looking at Grayson Yu Jie's eyes held confusion as he felt a tingle from where their hands were connected. 

 

[Yu Jie: What the f*ck was that?!]

 

[System: I’m not too sure I suddenly saw a blue spark Σ(°ロ°) What the hell was that]

 

[System:...Hold on a blue spark?! That means the higher-ups just did something to Grayson!]

 

[Yu Jie: What the f*ck... I thought they could only interfere if I mess up!?]

 

[System: Yeah at least that supposed to be how it works ...unless]

 

[Yu Jie: Unless?]

 

[System: Unless its a pre-set command they put into the system world]

 

[Yu Jie: A pre-set command? They can do that?!]

 

[System: It's not impossible….I just hope they don't notice it was triggered if that's the case]

In a white room, a man with long blond hair was sleeping on a bed. Suddenly the man opened his grey eyes with blue flecks and immediately stood up and began to yell and bang on the door. 

 

“I swear I'm about to lose my mind!? Can someone bring my blue sheets from my house! You said house arrest but this isn't my house you stinky old men! White walls, white bed, white sheets, white door, No Windows! Am I in a psych ward or some shit?! 

 

“Hey!??? I know you hear me! I'm about to make a hole in this door if someone doesn't bring me something with color on it!? 

 

Looking at the screen of the man making a racket, Aden rubbed his temple. The person sitting in front of the monitor turned to look at Aden and stated in a monotone voice. “It seems as if putting him in an all-white room finally broke him”

 

With a sarcastic smile, Aden shook his head “No….He’s just making a scene”

 

The person at the monitor blinked slowly and said “I’m sorry general but I do not have the emotional capacity to understand what “Making a scene” entails. 

 

“It's fine just keep an eye on him” Reaching the door Aden paused “Oh and...get him his stupid blanket already I’m tired of his whining”

 

“Yes general as you wish”

 

Sensing Aden leaving the monitoring room Nora smiled heh I only needed him to stall for a second I knew I could count on Aden  looking at his watch Nora laid back down in satisfaction 

 

That virus should keep the higher-ups busy long enough for System 0726 to cover up the error. That's all we need…..Just saving them is fine that way I can make up for my past mistake towards that person.

 

Sebas was surprised and alarmed to see Aiden with his hair cut and his fingers trembled as he asked what happened. Trying to not give the man a heart attack Aiden gave sebas a bright smile and hooked his arm around Grayson’s arm “My friend Grayson took me to get my hair cut...doesn't it look nice?

 

Sebas didn't believe Aiden but new the young man didn't want to worry him so he only nodded and praised Aiden “Of course you are handsome no matter what..I’m sure Lily and Jake will think so too”

 

Laughing Aiden nodded “I hope so I don't want to be made fun of”

 

Saying goodbye to Grayson I got into the car. Waving at me Grayson had a bitter smile on his lips and Yu Jie knew what he was thinking. Why can't he have one person on his side like sebas is most likely what Grayson was thinking? 

 

Arriving home Aiden went to find Jack and Lily in the garden and showed off his new haircut. Laughing Lily gave him a thumbs up “So handsome good job!”

 

Jack also laughed and commented “Isn't it nice to finally be able to see us pft”

 

Aiden laughed and ran after Jack in the garden threatening to beat him up. “Oh yeah, you rascal?! Come here let this young master fix that sharp tongue of yours!

 

“No way I was born this way, you can't teach an old dog new tricks!”

 

Lily laughed and made fun of Jack “so you admit you're a Dog?!

 

Pounding his chest proudly Jack yelled “Of course I’m young masters dog haha”

 

Finally getting a hold on Jack Aiden laughed “Oh yeah then roll over for this young Master”

 

Loud laughter rang through the house and all of the adults had big smiles on their faces as they watched the children run around the garden playing.

 

Laying in bed Aiden held his phone and laughed as he read Leo’s message.

 

Aiden:

( [picture] what do you think?)

 

Leo:

(You cut your hair?)

 

Aiden:

( Yeah...does it look ok) 

 

Leo:

(It suits you) 

 

Closing out the messaging app Aiden placed his phone on the bedside table along with his glasses and laid down to sleep.

Hearing the notification Yu Jie was brought out of his sleep and seemed to hear someone talking.

 

“So he plans to send the young master to the branch company to intern?

 

“Does that make sense? He might as well hand over the company in that case”

 

“Well talk about this after the young master leaves for school Mari” 

 

Then the door to the room opened and Sebas walked in and opened the curtains letting light flood into the room. Squinting Yu Jie was surprised to find that he slept deeply all night and so he woke up in a good mood.  Smiling at sebas he got out of bed “Good morning Sebas”

 

“Good morning Young Master, when you get home from school the master wishes to speak with you over video call”

 

Aiden’s fingers that were buttoning his shirt paused, then he turned to look at sebas and simply nodded his head. Seeing the Young Master’s calm mood, Sebas sighed in relief. “Well then whenever you're dressed come downstairs, We made your favorite dish” 

 

“Alright” 

 

[Yu Jie: Was I dreaming or did Grayson's Affection go up?]

 

[System: Grayson vice’s affection % for Aiden Sinclair is now 58%. It went up]

 

[Yu Jie: I guess he appreciates I didn't tell Leo about what happened yesterday]

 

[System: Yeah oh also Aiden’s dad wants to send him to the meeting tomorrow]

 

[Yu Jie: well, this makes things a lot easier] 

 

As Aiden got out of the car he felt as if he was on display, every time he passed by someone they would look once and then almost snap their neck as they turned to look again. Aiden felt uncomfortable with the looks he was getting and sped up to where he was basically running to class. So when he walked through the door he immediately sat at his desk catching his breath. Leo looked at him in concern and asked “Did something happen?”

 

Fanning his face Aiden shook his head “No Just people were looking at me” 

 

Chuckling Leo leaned on his desk “oh….its because they are stunned by your looks”

 

Rolling his eyes silently Yu Jie looked at Leo and put on an innocent expression “Eh?”

 

During the whole class period, Aidens classmates would constantly turn to look at him with stunned expressions. After a while Yu Jie got irritated and put his book up to hide his face, only letting his eyebrows show. Leo chuckled and moved the pile of books on his desk to cover Aiden even more. 

 

When the bell rang for lunch Aiden took the initiative to drag Leo with him to the cafeteria. As they walked Yu Jie felt numb to the stares at this point and kept a straight face. When they got their food they found an empty table and began to eat as they talked, soon some other boys that were familiar with Leo came over and joined them. Since Aiden was shy around strangers Yu Jie kept his head down and listened to the four boys chatting with Leo. 

 

“Leo come play basketball with us this Sunday”

 

“Mmm I have time”

 

“Nice”

 

Looking up Leo asked jokingly “So who are we talking money from this time?

 

Snickering a brunette boy waved his fist around “Blue spring Academy”

 

Hearing the name Aiden instinctively shrank into himself. Leo saw him from the corner of his eye and nodded seriously “Let's make sure to beat them until they can’t get up”

 

Laughter filled the air as the others agreed “Of course!”

 

Looking up Aiden had a slight smile as he was infected by the atmosphere. As he was about to ask Leo a question he felt a heated gaze on his back and turned around looking upstairs. Standing near the balcony Grayson had just turned his head away and then walked out of view. 

Puzzled Yu Jie stared at the balcony for a bit and then turned around.

 

[Yu Jie: Why didn't Grayson come down to eat with us?]

 

[System: Maybe he doesn't want to lose face? Just two days ago he showed that he hated your guts]

 

[Yu Jie: I don't feel like that's it. The affection % went up this morning...Did anything weird happen to him?]

 

[System: His day yesterday wasn't much better than the day before… I’ll check again]

 

During class Yu Jie needed to use the toilet so he raised his hand asking for permission to leave, Leo also raised his hand but was viciously turned down. 

 

“Are you his personal lapdog?! Put your hand down Leo”

 

Laughter filled the classroom and Leo scratched his head slightly embarrassed thinking Maybe I was being too cautious?

 

Yu Jie laughed and patted Leo’s shoulder telling him “I’ll be back”

 

Leaving the washroom Aiden paused as Grayson came into his view. Yu Jie raised his uninjured hand and smiled “Hey Grays-”

 

Walking straight past him Grayson didn't even spare Aiden a glance and disappeared down the hall. Stunned Yu Jie stood frozen in place and only came to his senses at his systems notification.

 

Ding~

[Yu Jie: WTF (╮°-°)╮┳━━┳ ( ╯°□°)╯ ┻━━┻]

 

Leo raised his eyebrow as he saw Aiden enter with a dark look on his face. Leo tapped Aiden on the forehead and asked “What's wrong?” 

 

Swatting away Leo’s hand Yu Jie grumbled “Nothing”

 

Leo was puzzled by Aiden’s behavior but didn't press him further since he could see Aiden’s tail puffing up. 

 

After school, Aiden waited for sebas like always and was eager to go home to figure out why Grayson suddenly went cold. So when he got home and was about to run upstairs sebas called out to him. 

 

“Young Master? The computer is set up in the study...do you wish to change first?

 

Cursing under his breath Yu Jie realized he had to talk to Shin Sinclair and his mood dropped even more. “No….I'll do it now”

 

Sitting in the large study Yu Jie sat on a desk chair and stared at the computer screen angrily.

 

[Yu Jie: He sets the time yet keeps people waiting?! What kind of fucking power play is this]

 

[System: He's talking to some lady in his office it looks ambiguous]  

 

[Yu Jie: Is that why before I could even say a word he paused the video call?!! (凸ಠ益ಠ)凸]

 

Yu Jie was lying on the couch in the office with his legs on the armrest, one hand in a bag of chips and the other holding a comic book. Looking up he sighed. Yu Jie had gotten bored after 10 minutes of waiting and got up to look at the books on the shelf, to his surprise he found a couple of comics so he sat down on the couch and began to read them. 

 

[System: He's finally done after almost an hour, shameless]

 

Reluctantly Yu Jie put the book down and made sure there were no crumbs on his clothes before he sat down in front of the screen again. The screen went from a black loading screen to a refined-looking man sitting in the office signing papers. He didn't look up once and simply spoke as if he were giving orders. 

 

“You will be going to the contract signing tomorrow in my sted, it’s an important contract between our company and two others, All you have to do is sign the contract and then hand it over to Greg when he gets there” 

 

“Fathe-”

 

“That's all” suddenly the video call ended and Yu Jie sneered.

 

[System: outrageous he should at least have hidden the kiss mark on his collar!(╬ Ò﹏Ó)]

 

[Yu Jie: (凸ಠ益ಠ)凸 That's all?! This F*cker]

 

Yu Jie was irritated and marched out of the study to the kitchen. Every action was aggressive and he caused a lot of noise as he took a muffin from the round glass plate on the counter. Stuffing it into his mouth he poured himself a cup of milk and then marched back to his room. Sebas and the other staff of the house thought The young master is cute when angry

 

Closing the door to his room Yu Jie threw himself on the bed and got in a comfortable position. Once he was comfortable the holographic screen popped up showing Grayson standing in his Fathers office.

 

Grayson’s father’s angry voice echoed in the room “What is the meaning of you fighting in school?! Leroy Grain called me this afternoon and informed him that you beat his son Lex! 

 

Grayson gave his father a blank look and did not respond. Seeing this Grayson's father threw his stone book stopper at Grayson. Grayson went pale as the stone book stopper hit his shoulder but he did not budge at all, not even making a sound.

 

Grayson's father heaved angrily “Fine say nothing and see if I don't kill you today!

 

At that Grayson’s body shook and he bit his lip but still said nothing. Yu Jie’s blood boiled as he saw Grayson's father pull a whip off the wall. Just as he was about to hit Grayson a small knock came from behind the door followed by a childish voice.

 

“Dad?

 

Fixing his appearance Grayson’s father glared at Grayson and motioned him to stay then he walked over to the door only to where he could poke his head out and asked in a gentle voice “What's Wrong Grant”

 

“Dad I wanted to show you something I drew”

 

“Oh then let dad see”

 

“I left it in my room”

 

“Alright dad will go in a bit, dad is talking to Grayson right now”

 

“But dad...I want you to see it now”

 

“Alright don't cry….Give me 5 minutes ok”

 

“N-No da-”

 

Before the child could finish speaking Grayson’s father shut the door gently then turned to glare at Grayson. “I already know the reason for you acting out, did you think I wouldn't monitor you while at school?

 

[Yu Jie: F*ck you! If you knew why beat him?! Psycho]

 

[System: ✴==≡눈٩(`皿´҂)ง]

 

Grayson's eyes widened slightly but he still said nothing. Grayson's father patted Grayson's injured shoulder hard and sneered “You better stop hanging out with that weak child since when was it a hobby of yours to hang out with trash that got in using a scholarship and holds no weight to his name? You disappoint me, Grayson”

 

[Yu Jie: Eh Leo got in with a scholarship?]

 

[System:? I don't know let me check]

 

Grayson’s expression worsened when he heard what his father said and he finally spoke “You investigated him?

 

“It would be best you not sully the Vice family name by associating with the poor, Also for all you know he might just want to be friends with both of you to use the unspoken rules to climb the ladder”

 

Grayson clenched his fist “He might be weak but he at least has more morals than you!”

 

Grayson’s father sneered “Heh sure you say that now but wave a few thousand in his face and he'd be ready to sell you out”

 

[Yu Jie:??Maybe Grayson does like Leo, why else would he defend him so much!]

 

[System: ……..]

 

[Yu Jie: What's wrong?]

 

[System: That's….the one with the scholarship isn't-]

 

Grayson suddenly gripped his father’s wrist and replied through gritted teeth “Aiden is not that type of person do not speak of him like that in front of me”

 

[Yu Jie: (ಠ_ಠ)・・・What?]

 

Yu Jie was so surprised he went blank “I’m poor? Looking around Aiden’s fancy room Yu Jie had a look of amazement. “Then is all this fake? No, let's calm down”

 

On the screen, Grayson’s father was shocked and tore his hand out of Grayson's grip “Distance yourself from both Aiden Lander and Leo Eudan now”

 

Grayson sneered “And if I don't?

 

Fixing the cuffs of his suit Grayson’s father smiled “I might not be able to deal with Leo now but that weak child is an easy target, do you think the Sinclair family will care about a butler's child?

 

Grayson clenched his fist and glared at his Fathers retreating back. Grayson’s father closed the door behind him and Grayson laid himself bonelessly on the couch, his arm covering his eyes.

“Sebas”

 

Walking in sebas looked at the young master’s cold face and suddenly grew nervous “Yes Young master?

 

Sitting on the edge of the bed Yu Jie observed sebas and then spoke “Sebas when I was transferred to Red Lotus academy how was the process handled?”

 

Sebas back stiffened and he coughed “The process was very fast” 

 

Yu Jie gave sebas a pointed look and smiled “Sebas you know that's not what I am asking”

 

Sighing sebas softened his tone “I was the one to sign all the paperwork per request of your father and the process went smoothly”

 

“Then why did I get admitted with a scholarship and under the last name Lander”

 

Shocked, Sebas opened and closed his mouth and in the end, he sat down beside Aiden. “At the time I registered you your father was still insisting on sending you abroad and refused to register you within the time limit given, so I took things into my own hands”

 

Nodding Aiden grabbed sebas hands “Thank you sebas”

 

Sebas stood up and looked at me seriously “I apologize for registering you as my son”

 

Yu Jie laughed “It's fine sebas when I was a child I had always wished you were my actual father and maybe it's better this way”

 

Sebas eyes watered and he patted Aiden’s head “Those kids at your school might think you are easy picking since your last name holds no recognition...Please be careful”

 

[System: One of the reasons Aiden always got bullied was due to Shin Sinclairs messy past and questionable business ventures]

 

[Yu Jie: well seeing as Shin is horrible at keeping his business and pleasure separate it goes without saying that he isn't the best businessman, having sebas last name Is better than having that man's name]

 

Sebas bowed slightly and left the room, Yu Jie sighed and stared at his ceiling.

 

So that look that Grayson gave him wasn't because he wants a butler like sebas but because he wished his father was as gentle and caring as sebas….I’m sure he did a background check on Aiden and that's why Grayson was so mad the first day they met. 

 

Yu Jie sat in the classroom dozing off as he listened to the teacher Leo was already deeply asleep and Yu Jie felt jealous of Leo’s ability to fall asleep anywhere anytime. Yu Jie was a light sleeper and was very paranoid and found it hard to sleep around other people. So he began playing tricks on Leo like poking him with his pencil and throwing balls of paper at him but Leo didn't budge once so Yu Jie gave up and looked out of the window. Yu Jie raised his eyebrow and the corner of his lips twitched as he watched a familiar-looking boy in a tracksuit scale the wall of the school. 

 

[Yu Jie: Is that how his fingers get cut?]

 

[System: Seems like it, he did choose the worst place to scale the wall. It’s covered in vines and moss]

 

[Yu Jie: Tsk Tsk seems like you've learned nothing after all Little Bun]

 

[System: Why (ᓀ ᓀ)]

 

[Yu Jie: There are no cameras in that area and the teachers don't parole that area since it's too far out]

 

[System: But you still saw him, what makes you think others can't?].

 

[Yu Jie: But no one will tell on him]

[Yu Jie: Cuz he's rich duh can you not think straight today (￢‿￢ )]

At lunch, the same thing happened as yesterday Yu Jie was able to spot Grayson eating with a bunch of people on the top floor near the edge just enough so he could look down to the bottom floor. The day passed by quickly and Leo walked with me to the gates like always. As we stood waiting Leo looked over to me and spoke in a serious tone “Send me your address tonight”

 

Yu Jie was shocked and looked at Leo Blankly “Eh? 

 

Coughing into his fist Leo explained “Tomorrow is Saturday so we can start exercising together I go jogging early in the morning and want you to join me”

 

[Yu Jie: I thought he had forgotten!＼(º □ º l|l)/]

 

[System: Heh dad did you know what comes around goes around]

 

[Yu Jie:(╥_╥)]

 

Yu Jie forced a happy smile and replied “Oh if that's the case then ok...what time do you jog?

 

Leo looked up and saw his car parking in front of him so he walked towards the car as he talked “Usually I start at 5 but since you are coming we can start at 6, My cars here so I’ll see you tomorrow” 

 

Yu Jie felt his brain go blank and stood frozen in place until sebas called out to him worriedly as they drove to the company “Are you nervous about attending the meeting? I could always go in your sted”

 

Looking up Yu Jie nodded absentmindedly “I’m a bit worried but I think I can do it thank you sebas”

 

Nodding sebas began to update Aiden on everyone that was going to appear at the meeting “There are two other companies coming today one is run by the Vice family and another is run by the Winters family. The Vice family has a broadcasting platform called VR Gaming and the other company is an Entertainment company called Starfire Entertainment, Starfire entertainment was originally based in C City but they relocated last year. They both want to sign a contract with us about furthering the quality of virtual reality technologies”

 

Nodding his head Yu Jie remembered seeing the holographic billboards on the skyscrapers and the giant glowing tower in the center of the city.

 

[Yu Jie: So that's what it was..no wonder everything is voice-activated at home]

 

[System: dad please…..how did you not notice your phone's holographic screen option? 

(」°ロ°)」]

 

[Yu Jie: But everything else looks normal?! How was I supposed to know! Plus I don't use the phone except when I'm texting!]

 

[System: (눈_눈)]

 

Arriving at the company Yu Jie was led into the waiting room since he had come a couple of minutes early. As he waited Yu Jie heard other voices outside and got up wanting to see who it was.

 

[System: Grayson arrived and has been pulled into the stairway by his father!]

 

Hearing that Yu Jie’s actions of sneaking around stopped, he swung the door open and ran towards the red dot on his map that his Little Bun had opened showing Grayson’s location. 

 

The people out in the hall were startled and the secretary leading them flushed red and apologized profusely to the two men standing in the hall.

 

A cold voice ran through the hall “who was that?

 

The secretary knew it was that useless Young master of theirs that had run out like a lunatic but did not want to say it for fear of the other person pulling out of the deal so he lied “T-That was the child of the butler of the young master….”

 

Eyebrow raised, the man asked “Is that so? 

 

The secretary nodded crazily and added “Y-Yes the butler  brought him because he did not have time to take him home, If he has offended you we can speak with the butler”

 

“No need”

 

Waiting until the door was closed Dion finally spoke “Wasn't that Aiden?

 

Nodding slightly Claude looked down at the magazine in his hand “Seems like it” 

 

Dion looked confused as he said “He’s the butler's son?

 

Claude looked up and gave him a blank look “why are you asking me?

 

Dion looked conflicted and then he laughed “I’m not too sure why I thought you had investigated him”

 

Claude pursed his lips “No”

 

Dion nodded and sat on the opposite couch as Claude but couldn't help sneaking glances at the man’s cold face. Covering his twitching lips with the magazine in his hand Dion thought, is it just me, or is Claude mad?...... Must be my misconception. 

 

As Yu Jie reached the floor that Grayson and his father were on Yu Jie looked around and acted like he was looking for a bathroom but turned and sneaked his way to the open door of the stairwell as if he had heard something then he heard what sounded like a slap...

 

“Are you completely incompetent! How could you spill coffee on yourself right before the meeting”

 

“Go home now, I’m putting you under house arrest!

 

Grayson’s voice was cold as he spoke “I refuse”

 

Grayson’s father couldn't control his anger and kicked Grayson causing the other to almost roll down the stairs. Grayson would have tumbled down the stairs had he not gripped the railing. He gritted his teeth and spoke through the pain. “Is it really appropriate to act this way at another company Father?

 

Hearing this Grayson's father pointed his finger at Grayson and cursed “Go home now or I will throw you down the stairs right now”

 

Seeing the anger level his father was at was not low Grayson reluctantly agreed “Fine”

 

Grayson's father angrily left the stairwell as he fixed his appearance no care for Grayson that was still half laying on the ground.  Yu Jie had hidden as soon as he heard Grayson’s dad approach and was worried for Grayson so he acted as if he was casually walking down the stairs. When he saw Grayson the boy was lying on the stairs weakly with his eyes closed and his hand still holding the railing, his white school shirt was stained and he was pale and breathing harshly.

 

Yu Jie was so startled he fell to his knees next to him and gently patted Grayson’s face “G-Grayson! Are you ok!”

 

[Yu Jie: Little Bun Is he ok?! Why isn't he opening his eyes?!]

 

[System: H-He's very weak and needs medical attention!]

 

Grayson’s eyelashes fluttered and his eyes opened. Grayson was at first embarrassed to be seen like this and acted like he was resting but when he heard the young boy's voice that trembled he couldn't help and opened his eyes. He was stunned at the sight of Aiden on his knees next to him with large tears dripping from his eyes. 

 

Seeing he had opened his eyes Yu Jie was panicked “D-Doctor you need a doctor!”

 

Grayson had an embarrassed smile and rejected Aiden “I’m fine I was just a bit tired after my fall so-”

 

Standing up Aiden helped Grayson to his feet “N-No let's go I’ll take you to a doctor”

 

Grayson really wasn't in the best shape and refused to let Aiden call for other people so the two of them made their way down slowly. In the meeting room, sebas was making a proposal with a straight face but was panicking inside. The young master has been gone for 20 minutes now and has not returned... The meeting had to end now.

 

With that in mind sebas sped up his speech and had everyone sign the contract, the other two men realized sebas was in a rush so they finished quickly and the meeting was done after thirty-four minutes. As soon as it was done sebas rushed out like the wind. Dion looked over at Claude amused and gathered all the paperwork. Just as they were about to leave they were called out.

 

“Mr. Winters it's a pleasure to finally meet you”

 

Both Dion and Claude turned at the same time, Claude looked at the man in front of him blankly and Dion shook hands with the man and said “Thank you Mr. Vice the pleasure is ours”

 

Slightly taken aback Mr. Vice had a stiff smile and slowly took back his hand “Mr. winters I would like to ask you about-”

 

Claude pursed his lips and his cold voice was like a knife “Im busy if you want to talk make an appointment with my secretary” 

 

And just like that Claude left the room with Dion following closely behind. As they walked out of the company Dion spoke “You really don't like Leroy Vice huh boss”

 

Claude ran his eyes over the parking lot “Not worth my time”

 

Dion chuckled “Ah yes yes of course no one is worth our boss’s time”

 

Noticing Claude was standing still staring off into the distance Dion hid his smile. Maybe one is worth our boss’s time haha.

 

Off in the distance sebas was helping Grayson into Aiden’s private car and Aiden had a panicked expression as he urged sebas to hurry.
