Leo entered Gyeoul Yoon's office. It wasn't a regular office, though. It resembled a cozy home library, complete with a bed, a small kitchen, and a desk with a high-end computer on top.

Gyeoul Yoon was not the silent type. She was a talkative and somewhat immature woman in her mid-30s. With an average face and build, her striking blue eyes stood out, as deep and captivating as the ocean. Some might find her attractive, but Leo was focused solely on the prospect of earning money and ignored her appearance.

Leo took a quick glance around before addressing her. "Is this really your office? It is amazing, but enough of that. I'm here for business."

Gyeoul was taken aback by the boy's lack of enthusiasm but quickly got to the point. "Well, becoming my assistant is no easy task, but I'm in desperate need of one right now. I'll just ask you a few questions."

Leo's ears perked up as they both sat down on the chairs by the coffee table.

"Alright, so, how old are you, Mr...?"

"I'm 16, ma'am. My name is Leo Aldridge. I had some education, but I stopped in junior high. The orphanage kicked me out before I could start senior high."

Gyeoul's interest was piqued when she heard he was an orphan. "So you're an orphan? Do you know who your parents are? And why did you get kicked out?"

Leo averted his gaze, disliking the need to share his story, but knowing it was necessary to secure the job. "I'm an orphan, yes. I never knew my parents. They left me at the orphanage where I stayed until now. They kicked me out because they believed I stole a bag full of cash. I didn't do it! But my reputation as a troublemaker made them think otherwise..."

Gyeoul felt a twinge of sympathy and decided to change the subject. "Ahem... So, there’s no need for any special talents, but is there anything you're particularly good at?"

Relieved by the shift in conversation, Leo answered, "Yes, even though I might not look it, I'm great at cooking and writing literature. I can also defend myself if necessary."

Gyeoul was pleasantly surprised by his skills. "Alright. I think I've heard enough. You're hired. Let me explain the pay. In order to give you a million dollars, I need to finish this novel first. Your job is to assist me, provide ideas, cook, and help with various tasks. Is that clear?"

Leo's eyes sparkled with excitement at being hired. He nodded vigorously but then hesitated. "But ma'am, I don't have a place to live..."

Gyeoul replied calmly, "Then live here. That's why there's a bed. If you need clothes or other essentials, I'll give you a budget to buy what you need."

Leo was stunned. "Living in her office? Is she really okay with this?" he thought.

Gyeoul smirked at his expression. "Don't worry about it. I have my own house. I'll be here from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Just make sure to lock up after I leave, alright?"

Leo nodded again, still processing the situation.

"Anyway, it's getting late, so I'll take my leave. Take care of my apartment, alright? See you tomorrow, my assistant~."

Gyeoul grabbed her purse and coat, gave a small bow, and left. Leo closed the doors and locked them behind her.

With a sigh of exhaustion, Leo laid down on the bed. This is going to be a tough job, but at least it's something. Wait, isn't this kind of like babysitting? But the pay is too good to pass up. Finally, after days of roaming the streets, he drifted into a deep sleep.
