"One of the helpers told me that Andre found her," Lord Hades takes a glance at Lady Adrestia beside him.
Both of them look over the barbeque from a few feets away, the smiles on their family and friend faces brighten the atmosphere around them. Adrestia watches as her daughter Helen leave to gets a drink for both of them.
"You've taken a liking to Andre, I see."
"She is a strange individual, a rude, oblivious, individual, but a determined, narrow focus, kind and loyal girl. You may be right about me taking a liking to her. But it is the same as you, isn't it? You have also taken a liking to her, am I wrong?" Hades lets out a half smirk.
"How so?"
"The way you look at her sometimes, it’s as if you are looking at your own daughter."
Andre interrupts Helen and takes hold of her hands then starts dancing with her to the rhythm of the music, while Agnes and Shin are having fun with each others company. They seem to be playing tag together. Persephone just watches them from afar with a motherly smile.
"You know what's going to happen when she meets her, it won't be pretty. Do you really want that?"
"I can't stop her, besides she needs-"
Hades interrupts Adrestia, "I know you're lying, you can stop her."
Adrestia looks at Hades with cold, uncaring eyes, then start to walk away from him and towards Helen and Andre.
Hades shakes his head slightly, not convinced despite Adrestia’s cold eyes. He knows that both of them are going to get hurt by themselves. Whatever the outcome is, it won’t be good.
Adrestia stands near Andre and Helen, waiting for them to stop dancing. Both of them stop as they notice the goddess near them, "Extend your open hands to me."
Andre, confused by the situation, follows Adrestia’s instructions.
"Andre, you have proven yourself as a fighter, fit to fight the Darkness. Now, here is your Scroll. May your light banish the Darkness."
A scroll appears from a golden light above her palm, then it slowly hovers down into Andre's hands. Agnes takes notice of the light and breaks away from the game of tag with Shin. He flies over and lands close next to Andre with ease.
"Do you accept your duty?" Adrestia gazes upon Andre, waiting for her answer.
Andre looks at Helen and sees her approving nod, and when she looks at Agnes, a big smile accompanies that cute face.
With an eager smile, Andre says, "I accept."
Adrestia nods her head slightly to show how proud she is at her. "However, I have one last gift, not for you, but for your friend." She turns her gaze on Agnes.
Agnes is fluttered by Adrestia's statement, "Me?"
"Will you become Andre's Familiar?"
Agnes jaw drops after hearing the offer, and even Helen was surprised by the offer. Andre, confused by the offer, asks Helen, "What's happening?"
"A Familiar is someone who receives a blessing and the God's name, and his or her duty is to help candidates with their quest. However, there is another meaning when someone is given a chance to become a Familiar, and that is the god or goddess accepting that someone into their own family… Adrestia is giving Agnes a chance to join our family."
"That's a huge deal!" Andre said excitedly.
Agnes looks at Andre, looking for confirmation and Andre replies with an eager nod. After getting Andre’s approval, he answers, "I do."
Agnes's stomach glows a golden light, and a symbol of a wing appears around his navel. The light disappears, and Agnes can feel the new energy coursing through his veins. His entire body is covered up by a bright light, before turning into a falcon with orange colored feathers. He shoots up and flies in a circle above Andre, before landing back down and turning back into a Harpy.
Andre rushes in for a hug and Agnes replies with a hug of the same excitement.
-END ARC 2-
Happy times won't last forever.
Loved arc 1. This arc i really liked the concept but it felt “easy” i guess? Imo it was a big jump from all the john wick action in arc 1 to almost no conflict. Still looking forward to arc 3 and more Daisie!!! Also andre’s new body?
Thank you for the comment, i'm glad to hear that loved it so far, sorry if Arc 2 feel a little easy, i had to give Andre some breathing room, before Arc 3 coming.
Hrmmmm. Honestly that's what I am feeling currently is hrmmm. As of right now, I can only see this as two separate stories. The first story is of a boy and a girl who both have horrible things happen to them and both die. The second story is a pantheon story with the only connection being 2 characters who believe they are people from the first story. Other than that, there seems to be nothing connecting the 2 MCs. If there was even a piece of the original MC left in the second one, I wouldn't think this but its as if he disappeared when he died. Not to mention the gender change, the thought process, feelings and emotions, expressions, way of talking... everything is different. The only thing between the 2 of them is the name of Andre.
Examples of what I feel can help explain why I see a lack of connection.
Male Andre vs Female Andre
1 No self confidence vs Full of herself
2 Full of self-doubt vs Confident to go against Gods (plural)
3 Barely able to open up to others vs laughing and joking with almost anyone
4 Expressionless (after coma) vs All smiles and joyful
5 Completely missing emotions (after coma) vs Showing all emotions, not just showing them but having no issues understanding them again.
These are some of the examples that for me make these as 2 unrelated individuals in two different stories.
I'm glad you feel that way because you hit the right mark there, I can't tell you much about why I make these choices in the stories, because again, spoiler... but I can tell you one thing, one simply cannot run from the past, no matter how much she forgets it. I hope, I didn't spoil it.
