And so we walk on and on… now that I think about it does this direction go anywhere? Let’s see… if we walk out of the forest and in the same direction we should find the Drahkain Mountain, but with her around I’m not sure if going there is a good idea, but then again we’re not leaving the forest so no need to worry.

“Say Miss Maova… what do you do during your adventure?” Tana asked sounding like she’s trying not to provoke me, well with what I just did and my existence as a demon it’s only natural, even if she have respect for me. But more importantly than all of that.

“No need for honorific Tana, unless you want to… leave the party” I said casually trying not to sound threatening, almost make a death threat there.

“O-Okay” She replied still somewhat nervous.

“As for your question, I’m just going around a place or two and sort of try things out, honestly there’s no greater plan or anything. Human settlements I did go to, but since no one really suspect anything I have no need to do anything drastic like I just did now” I have to worded it so it doesn’t look like I got easily provoked or have a murderous streak, otherwise she’ll be overly nervous around me, and afraid of course.

“I… see” She said.

“Well what about you and your friend going around outside? What were you doing getting yourself in trouble?” I asked.

“Well… we just want to go outside and be special… wanna go out and be strong and cool, having freedom outside of the gloomy place” Tana explained. Well such a reasoning should be expected from someone young like her, there’s really nothing wrong with that… speaking of which calling anyone in this world young is kinda weird considering I’m only in this world for five years. Mentally speaking I’m a few hundreds due to how many reincarnation that happened, on another hand I lose most of the memories regarding them, so really who can tell how old I really am mentally. But enough of that, time to keep moving.

We keep moving. Each of us take glance around to look for anything...

We keep moving in this massive forest full of barely anything...

...

“We aren’t going anywhere with this are we?” Rosia asked after some time.

“Hah… maybe not” I replied, still moving.

“Do you not have any backup plan?” Rosia asked.

“Well… I mean there’s only four place I can think of that we can go without humans seeing us” I said.

“And where is that?” Tana asked.

“First is Tana’s home or rather the demi-human settlement as a whole, second is my castle, third is the Drahkain mountain, and fourth is the Creation Tree” I explained.

“Creation Tree? What is that?” Rosia asked.

“A giant tree to the west of my castle, from what I know it’s an extremely dangerous location that no human should ever step foot in” I explained.

“How much exactly? The threat there” Rosia asked further.

“I’m not completely certain, but from little I know it’s way more dangerous than the mountain or the dungeon” I replied.

“You don’t say… but with her being around I doubt we can go there, if you intended for her to not die” Rosia noted, referring to Tana.

“Is it that bad?” Tana said.

“We’re on a completely different level from you, if that place give us trouble you’ll die in an instant” I explained. We still keep walking even with all of this talking.

“Oh…” Tana let out looking bummed out.

“Well it’s not like that’s the only place of interest anyway, I think we could managed with the Drakain Mountain, even if dragons are some of the strongest race period. Speaking of dragon how did Goldie behave Tana?” I said then asked.

“Goldie? You mean Jinna?” Tana asked in return.

“Yeah her, whatever she’s called” I clarified.

“She’s nice” Tana said. Well I was expecting her to call her weird or out of line or something, well I can go verify that later.

“Good to hear, thought she’ll cause trouble or something” I said.

“So we’re going to the mountain?” Rosia asked.

“Where else? I haven’t been to that place in quite a while, it’s my training ground during childhood so to say, stuck there for a few hours for many days” I replied. Honestly I have no idea how come there’s so many wyverns and dragons there, but it’s a good place to find strong enemies because of that so I can’t complain… still a place full of dragons sounds far fetched doesn’t it, I still have no idea how having a place like that exist doesn’t disrupt the world order or something like that.

“What the hell did you go through during your childhood anyway?” Rosia asked sounding somewhat concerned.

“Nothing spectacular really, you worried too much” I responded.

“If you say so” Rosia replied sounding way less concerned. Now then…

“So are ready to go there?” I said to Tana.

“Sure…” Tana replied while doesn’t seem to grasp all that I’ve said.

“Alright then, you two get close to me” I said beckoning them to get closer, and they did just that.

*Zoom*

“Here we are” I said. Tana look completely shocked at what just transpired. Anyhow I teleported us to the lower part of this massive mountain. I usually train on the higher level but since she’s here we should stay on the lower level. Wyverns are everywhere with very little dragons about. In fact there’s one diving toward us right now.

“Hmph!”

*Slash*

Rosia slash at it in retaliation and quickly disabling it, falling to the floor and struggle in pain. Even if one is much stronger than these wyverns and dragons due to their scales passive they reduce damage taken by quite a significant amount, so killing it in one shot is unlikely. Maybe Tana can try to scratch at this.

“Say Tana, how about you try finishing this one off?... Tana?” I said then realizing that she’s in a daze right now.

*Shake*

“Hey hey. Stop dazing around” I said while shaking her.

*Dive* *Slash*

Another one tried to ambush us but Rosia take care of that as well. Two wyverns at their deathbed.

“A-Ah… Sorry” Tana said finally snapping out of it.

“Kill them” I said pointing at the two wyverns on the floor. She look really nervous right now.

“U-um… Do I-”

“Kill them” I commanded. She flinched and bare her claws doing as I said. At least try at any rate.

*Scratch*

She can’t do much of anything to them, this is going to take a while.

“While this is happening what do you reckon we do here?” Rosia asked.

“Honestly I have no freaking idea. Let’s just fight here for a bit then think of somewhere else to go” I replied honestly.

“You really should plan things better” Rosia remarked dryly. Sharp tongued as ever.

“Hear hear” I replied as I check on Tana who is still having difficulty killing the wyverns. Perhaps more assistance is needed… I wonder…

“[Blood Boost]” I chanted. Suddenly a swirl of blood is surrounding Tana and she predictably is taken off guard. The swirl disappeared quickly but some sort of aura lingers around her.

“W-What was that?” Tana asked looking back at me.

“Just assisting you is all, just kill the two wyverns already” I said.

“R-Right…” She replied then go back to trying to kill the wyverns.

*Claw*

She’s definitely surprised at the performance she just put up. Managing to claw right through one of the wyvern’s scaly skin.

*Claw* *Claw* *Claw*

She quickly claw at both of them quickly and tearing them apart, killing both of them successfully… My throat hurts.

“Rosia” I said looking her with a slightly discomfort look. All she does it brush her hair aside and show me her neck without saying anything.

*Chomp*

Ahhhh… I really shouldn’t show any weird reaction like that in front of anyone. Did Tana see that?... No? That’s good. But still she’s-

*Claw* *Claw*

Clawing at the wyvern’s corpses.

“You can stop Tana” I said.

“Ah. Okay” She replied, then stop. Hopefully that was just her making sure they’re dead and not her going crazy or something.

“Alright then. I think we’ve sufficiently make ourselves known amongst the wyvern here at this point. Considering no more came in our direction” I pointed out due to the suspicious lack of wyverns in the area.

“Seems like they know not to mess with those stronger” Rosia noted to obvious.

“Well not that it mattered. We’ll be the hunters here” I said as flicker of light appeared in my hands.

“Um… Can I actually do it?” Tana asked. Considering the obvious gap in power between her and the wyverns it’s understandable for her to hesitate and be insecure.

“No worries. If anything happens Rosia and I will heal you right back up” I said as I-

*Beam*

Shoot a beam of light toward a faraway wyvern, sniping it down quickly and it crash onto the ground.

“Plus. We can handle it without you anyway, so it doesn’t matter much” I said perhaps sounding a bit condescending there

“Hey! I can do this and I’ll prove it!” Suddenly she got a lot more motivated, maybe what I said provoked her? Seems likely.

“Prove it then” I said.

“Okay!” Tana replied as she rushes toward where the wyverns are.

“Are you certain about this?” Rosia asked.

“I don’t see any harm in that… what?” I replied and asked considering she’s looking at me funny.

“I just hope you haven’t forgotten that I’m here” She replied as she walk toward Tana who is beating at the wyvern I brutally injured… She doesn’t mean what I think she means right?

“Hey my treatment of this girl have nothing to do with it!” I said as I run to them both.

#####

“Ugh…” Tana let out as she lay down on the floor completely exhausted.

“She’s at her limit. Now what?” Rosia asked.

“I mean if you’re willing to give me more blood maybe I could restore her stamina so we can keep going” I purposed, it’s not a serious suggestion really.

“Nothing else in mind?” She responded skeptically.

“I mean…” I can’t think of anything else aside from simply taking Tana back to her friends and family. Speaking of which what level is she at?

Despite the difference in raw power between her and the wyverns along with her killing a few her levels is still not close to theirs. This is one thing that show that this is reality I supposed, can’t exactly instantly become stronger in a single moment… usually anyway. Still though I can’t think of anything else…

“Well… maybe… going back? Bringing her back to her friend and all that, then we both go back and think things through” I said really struggling to think of other answer that wasn’t so obvious. Rosia look at me rather disappointed.

“Well I supposed that’s what we’ll do then” She said. Tana seems to move around a bit trying to get up.

“Are you okay there?” I asked even if it’s clear she’s not doing so well.

“I… I’m fine” She said still on the floor.

“Yeah sure” I replied.

*Grab*

As I grab her and pick her up. Time for teleport.

“Rosia” I said, then she walk up to me and get real close… it’s supposed to be so the warp effect connect but this is getting a bit awkward… I’ll just do it now.

*Zoom*

There. Done. And she thankfully give me some space.

“Now then, if I remember correctly…” I said to myself trying to think of where her home-

“Ah! Look! Tana’s there!” A voice of a girl can be heard somewhere suddenly yelling. Who’s there?... Oh the other two girls, should’ve expected them to be around.

“Guess this is the friends of hers?” Rosia asked looking at the two approaching girls.

“Yep, well this save a bit of my time” I said as I walk up to them.

“What happened to Tana?” The fox girl said… Magi is her name if I remembered correctly.

“She’s just exhausted is all, give her a good rest okay?” I said as I put Tana down on the floor for them to carry.

“Eh? Won’t you be joining us?” Another girl asked… Ragi is her name.

“In what exactly?” I asked in return.

“Well… playing with us? Go on an adventure?” She replied not completely sure of herself.

“Sorry but I’m not in the mood for that, perhaps at a later time” I said.

“Oh… okay” She replied.

“Guess it’s time to bring Tana back home. Ready Ragi?” Magi said.

“Yep, see you later miss Maova and… um…” Again with the miss.

“No need for honorific, and this person here is Rosia, my partner” I clarified.

“Right! Maova and Rosia, see you both later” Ragi said as both Magi and her pick up Tana and go somewhere else, hopefully where she’ll rest up.

“Guess we’ll go back?” Rosia asked.

“Yep, time to go back” I responded, and of course she get close to me with zero personal space.

*Zoom*

Now we’re at the balcony. Doesn’t seem like anyone else is around. Now what else could we do today? I mean we could go visit some people in this castle I guess. Kaa-san and Mom are the first two choices that pop up when I think about that.

“Say, how about we go chat with Mom and Kaa-san? Talk things out a bit more” I asked Rosia.

“I don’t see why not” She replied.

“Guess that’s where we’ll go then” I said as I initiated the contact this time and-

*Zoom*

Warp to the front of Kaa-san and Mom’s room… now that I think about it have they always share the same room? Maybe I should ask them about that sometimes, but perhaps not now.

*Open*

“Excuse me” I said as I enter their room. Mom isn’t here unfortunately, but Kaa-san is, sitting at a table pondering something. She then look at us and smile.

“Come in. What is it?” She asked as we enter. I sit down and so do Rosia.

“Nothing really Kaa-san. I just don’t really know what to do today” I replied feeling somewhat embarrassed.

“Isn’t that right? Well don’t you usually stay in your rooms playing games when you have nothing to do?” Why does she have to say it so teasingly like that? So bluntly as well…

“Kaa-san I really don’t feel like playing games okay? Besides I don’t think it’s something Rosia care much about” I replied. Rosia look at me skeptically and Kaa-san just look at me like pitying me… what?

“You never even ask me about these games of yours, how can you be so sure?” Rosia asked… I… really haven’t thought these through at all. I don’t have any excuse for that.

“You’re an embarrassment sometimes” Kaa-san said sounding exasperated.

“I’m sorry okay? I really should’ve thought things through more” I replied.

“So you ultimately have no idea… Well that aside what are these games exactly?” Rosia asked. Considering the age we’re in though even if she’s anywhere near interested in it it would’ve been pretty difficult to explain it all to her, all these concepts that should be like a few millennia ahead.

“Kaa-san can you please help me out with explaining them please?” I asked.

“Well that’s fine with me. It’s just what kind of games will you introduce her to” She replied. Rosia simply sit down in silence waiting for decision to be made. What kind of games… honestly it’s hard to tell, I have no idea… need to ask her for answer.

“Say Rosia what kind of games have you played before?” I asked.

“Nothing I have ever did really qualified as such” She replied. Well then, plan B.

“What do you do for fun?” I asked.

“There’s nothing, there’s nothing in particular I did for enjoyment” She replied. I know the answer should be something along this line but hearing her saying it out loud is…

“You hooked up with one depressing girl aren’t you?” Kaa-san somewhat jokingly.

“Kaa-san you’re not helping” I remarked.

“Look I’m just pointing things out okay? Speaking of which what about your other hobby? The one about-”

“Shut it Kaa-san you’re complicating things” I quickly shut her down befor she said any further.

“Well what can I say… Hm?” Kaa-san said as her ring light up. I didn’t even notice it was there. She inspect it and…

Just sorta stay silent.

“What is this about?” Rosia asked.

“I actually don’t know” I replied. Kaa-san then look at us.

“Well seems like Verm wants my help with something, so maybe we’ll put this off for now” Kaa-san said in somewhat serious tone.

*Zoom*

And there she goes.

“Isn’t this something…” I commented.

“Well that aside how about you explain these games of yours?” Rosia insisted. So I have to explain it to her with no assistance at all…
