Now we’re back in the neighborhood. Time to go tell that woman about what’s going on, and of course getting the flower back. Walking up to her house and-

“I’m back” I said as I intrude. The wolf woman is taken a bit off guard but keep her friendly face up.

“Ah, were you able to find them?” She asked.

“We found them and your husband and Jinnah are trying to drag them back. The flower?” I answered and asked.

“Right, here it is” She said while handling the flower to me.

“Thanks for keeping it safe” I said.

“No need. You help us more than enough” She replied.

“Alright let’s wrap this up and go back. We’ll come visit later” I said, everyone gather around...

“I’ll be glad” The wolf woman replied.

*Zoom*

And now we’re back in the two girl’s living room.

“So… how is today?” I asked.

“It was... okay” Revia said, despite clearly being tired.

“I’m… tired” Yuuna said. Guess they’re more preoccupied with that.

“That little trip didn’t go too well does it” Rosia remarked.

“It’ll get better… hopefully” I responded, I’m really not confident on that statement.

“Sure… So what now?” Rosia asked.

“I’ll give this flower to Belphi, wherever she is. Then maybe check up on Mom and Kaa-san” I said.

“Understood. Now then you two, rest here alright?” Rosia replied then said to the two.

“I get it” Yuuna said still catching her breath.

“Understand Sis” Revia said. Seems Rosia have no intention of letting me go alone.

“Well let’s go… actually where is Belphi’s room?” I asked. Not really sure where her room is, if she’s even there.

“I remember her being next door” Revia said.

“Thanks Revia, I’ll remember that” I said as I walk out along with Rosia and into the room next door. There’s a lot of rooms here but not many people to occupy them.

“Hm? Ah it’s you two, is that what I think it is?” Belphi greeted as we enter.

“Yep, it’s your flower, take it” I said while handling the flower to her.

“Thanks a lot” She said with a smile. I don’t know if she’ll keep that smile when something will happen to that flower or not. She inspect the flower for a bit then put it by the window.

“Well now that this is all over with I’ll go elsewhere” I said as I prepare to walk out.

“Hold on” Belphi said, so I stop in my tracks.

“What?” I responded looking back at her.

“Did you do something strange to this flower?” She asked with a callous smile. Did she caught on? Regardless I’d rather tell the truth straight up.

“So what if I did?” I asked in return calmly.

“...Well I just don’t want this to ended up bad for me” She explained.

“I doubt it, it’s just a flower for now anyway” I replied.

“Your wording couldn’t be more suspicious right now, well fine I’ll drop the topic for now. Go do whatever” She said as she turn back, and so I walk out along with Rosia.

That was a bit unexpected but at least it goes to show she have sharp instinct or something I guess. I’m still curious as to the end result, hopefully that woman doesn’t mess with anything.

“You’ll go see your mothers now aren’t you?” Rosia asked.

“Yeah, just checking on them, let’s go” I said reaching out my hand and she return the favor.

*Zoom*

And then we go into their room… Well Kaa-san is here at least. Mom probably go deal with the troops and such.

“Well well, what’s up Maova?” Kaa-san cheerfully asked, as she sit there with a smile.

“I mean I’m just checking up on you is all… Oh and also are the library and training ground for those two done yet?” I replied.

“Eh it’s been done for a while now, well don’t worry I’ll go tell them myself later. You’re a good girl Maova, at least for me” Why even said the last part Kaa-san, that’s so embarrassing to hear.

“Please don’t call me that, also are you trying anything right now?” I replied, really wanting to change the topic. Kaa-san is certainly a kind of person to do some crazy stuff or mischief.

“Hey the last time I did anything I was screwing people over by making a video game okay? Is there that much of a concern as to what I will do?” I can already tell that reply was way out of context, I won’t ask for it since it’ll just screw with my head more. I really don’t want to imagine what kind of event she cause with that, but I can tell I don’t have to do anything about it, and her other troubles better stay that way.

“Isn’t that the exact reason I need to be worried?” I exasperatedly retort, she probably won’t replied seriously all things considered.

“Heh, maybe, though maybe you saying that aren’t the most convincing. Anyway I found a mutant crowkin being troublesome so I trapped her in a mirror” Huh?

“...Pardon?” I said, just what the hell is she up to now?

“What? Exactly what I said” She said it so nonchalantly, that’s the kind of mess one has to deal and comprehend around her, even if it really doesn’t end up much easier.

“Okay before you two get back a forth how about you explain everything in clear detail as to what you said you just did. Kaa-san” Rosia chimed in before I can reply, guess she doesn’t like how she began fading into the background when these conversations happened. Her address for Kaa-san there is slightly mocking I would say.

“Well if you want me to explain in full maybe I should show you two our prisoner” She said as she make some childish gestures.

*Zoom*

And there she goes.

*Zoom*

And back again quickly with a mirror. It’s a round dark mirror with some sort of bony structure under and attracted to it, with the frame being crystal of some sort, and that two devil wings attached to the mirror and that tiny antenna or something at the top, and two black strings down there on both side. I think there’s some sort of shape inside the mirror. Well it’s flat out a person in there. A girl with a pair of wings both on her head and her back. Her hair is black, messy, and neck length, wearing regular tunic and such. She’s trying to get out of this mirror she’s trapped in but of course that wouldn’t work, strength doesn’t help in the slightest, it also seems like she’s trying to speak as well.

“What this did person do to you exactly to warrant a punishment to this degree?” I asked.

“She was flying around like she’s the fastest or something, also she’s trying to steal stuff from here” Kaa-san explained, I mean I know that for her this kind of thing isn’t exactly hard to do, but it seems a tad overkill.

“So is that literally the only reason you went so far?” I asked further, I can feel my tone being all the more exasperated towards her.

“C’mon, I’ve done for less” Kaa-san replied. Well I don’t doubt that.

“Regardless what are you planning to do now with her exactly?” Rosia asked, she hasn’t speak for a while there, must’ve been slightly frustrated about that.

“I have no idea to be honest, I mean I just did that for the laughs” Kaa-san replied with a smile and a laugh.

“Seriously? Well if nothing else how about you let her speak for a bit? Maybe I’ll think of something to do” I asked.

“That’s alright with me” Kaa-san replied. Tap the mirror then-

“Please let me out! I’m sorry!” Her begging is heard as soon as she’s allowed to speak. She’s one loud fellow isn’t she.

“What exactly do you plan if you get out?” I asked, sounding somewhat interrogative.

“I won’t do anything I swear!” She pleaded still panicking.

“Well ain’t that reassuring” I sarcastically commented.

“She’s in a panic, so she doesn’t speaking very rationally” Kaa-san noted the obvious.

“I can see that. How’s the mirror?” I asked toward the crow girl.

“I don’t like it! Wanna get out and fly!” She said loudly. Hmmm… well I wonder if there’s a way to fix that I wonder, and I guess the space inside the mirror isn’t exactly big enough for her.

“Hey Kaa-san, what would happened if I use my power to demonize her with her inside?” I asked having that sick curiosity in mind, I sure hope I don’t have a devilish grin on me right now… what am I saying of course I do.

“What!?” The crow girl yelled panicking even more.

“She’ll turn into an ungaikyo” Kaa-san answered. Even though that sounds Japanese I’m not quite sure what that’s supposed to be.

“Sorry but what is that exactly?” I asked.

“Demon mirror more or less. Living mirrors that manipulate the reflection on them or perhaps even trap someone inside them, err… their reflection that is. So basically she’ll fuse with this fancy mirror she’s trapped in” Kaa-san explained.

“Sounds fun, any chance she’ll turn that on us?” I asked. A bit of a far fetched question but some abilities might transcended things like raw power, however rare it is.

“Since we’re both much more powerful and can manipulate space her attempts to trap us will be futile, and she has to become powerful in the first place” Kaa-san explained. So I guess nothing wrong will come of this then. The girl’s face paled during this whole exchange, seems she isn’t so keen on being changed, a natural thing to be afraid of.

“Maova” Rosia suddenly interjected.

“What?” I asked.

“And what will come after this? I hope you’re not thinking about being with her forever” She’s not subtle about this is she. Like I’m going to do something like that, why is she even saying that in the first place!

“What? No! I’ll stay faithful I promise!” I said really hoping she won’t think about it in such a way.

“Now now, I’ll take care of her if that’s the case. Anyway ready to do the thing?” Kaa-san thankfully interjected before she said anything else to escalate the topic further.

“Of course I am” I said perhaps letting out a smile. The girl look completely terrified. I touch the mirror and let the magic do its work.

“Aaaaaaahhhh!!!” The girl screamed. Louder and louder... and stop.

“She need to close that mouth of hers” Kaa-san said, seems she cut the communication.

The girl inside is gone, the mirror is shaking, seems the transformation is completed.

“So how would this work? Or rather how would she managed?” I asked.

“I’ll keep the tabs on that, you two go do whatever, I’ll notify you later” Kaa-san said. Well I guess this is situation is all resolved and everyone on the same page, at least for now at any rate. Guess I’ll go do something else… like what exactly? I haven’t really thought that far ahead since we deal with everything rather quickly…

“Say Maova” Rosia suddenly speak up.

“What is it?” I asked.

“If there’s nothing else you have to do, how about we practice somewhere else? I think that’ll be beneficial” She suggested, I mean if that’s what she wants then sure.

“That’ll work, but where exactly?” I asked.

“That dragon mountain would work fine” She said.

“I see, well Kaa-san see you later” I said looking back at Kaa-san.

“Same here” She replied. I take Rosia’s hand and-

*Zoom*

Teleport us both to the base of the mountain… looking a bit up there the destruction is quite clear isn’t it? Hopefully no one will link that to me.

“One thing I think about is how distant it seems” Rosia suddenly said.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“You and your parents” Rosia replied.

“Huh, does it seem that way? I just think they’re a tad too different from the norm to interact gracefully, so I don’t really fault them for it” I explained. From the outsider perspective it can certainly seems like they’re uncaring or not caring enough, but I know better than anyone that they went through a lot and cannot fully open up, they’re awkward and powerful, they might not tell me this, but I can tell, I’m their daughter after all.

“I hope that’s all there is to it” She said. Guess she’s not completely convinced, well if I were mistreated by my parents my entire life I would probably feel that way, so I can’t fault her. Being subject to such cruelty will no doubt paint one’s view with cynicism.

“C’mon, it’s not like they can’t play around and having fun doing family stuff, I’m sure we can arrange it someday” I said. She look rather skeptical but keep it to herself.

“We can talk about this later, let’s go to-”

“My my, I didn’t expect you both to be here” Suddenly a voice cuts out what Rosia said. We both turn to see the dragon woman there.

“Same could be said to you as well” I retort. She then walk to us.

“What are you two doing here anyway?” She curiosly asked.

“Just training, fighting and killing some dragons and wyverns… not you of course” I answered, now that I think about it would she be fine with that?

“I see, well that’s of no concern to me” She said nonchalantly. I wonder why.

“Is there a reason for that?” I asked.

“Because they’re but a primal and degraded beings” She responded, what does that mean?

“What do you mean by that?” I asked.

“To simply put, those dragons you saw in that mountain isn’t the same as me and the rest. They’re more of a mindless beast taking our shape” She explained, but why is that?

“And why is that the case? Or rather why is there a mountain full of dragons in the first place?” I asked.

“To put it simply, this is a gateway” She said.

“A gateway?” I noted. I remember Kaa-san talk about this, but I didn’t pay much attention to that lecture.

“Yes, like how the mortal kind have their own realm and so do the demons, dragons have their own separate realm for them to live, of course not everyone choose to stay there forever, with a few like myself going place to place, perhaps influencing humanity in some way. Back to the point this gateway, the Dragon’s Gate as we call them, exist at the very top of this mountain, and it influenced the lesser being into something greater and closer to us, and that’s what these primal beings are” She explained. So there’s a way to the realm right on top, and no one ever mentioned it, then again who would be crazy enough to enter a place like that.

“How come such a gate exist in a place like this?” I asked. No matter how you look at it something way out of the ordinary happened there.

“Who can say, it was like that and all of us simply accept it as a fact. One thing for certain no human ever passed through it, and it better stays that way” She replied.

“I see, and I supposed you wish to go to the gate?” I asked.

“Yeah, just a short trip really, I don’t like staying there for long” She replied. So even though she was imprisoned she still want to stay in this realm.

“I see, well guess we’ll go our separate ways, see you later” I said.

“Same here” She said as she flaps her wings and fly up, with us looking at her ascending up the tall mountain.

“Let’s go do what we’re here to” Rosia said.

“But of course, let’s go” I said.

*Flap*

Stretching my wings it’s time to fly up high and get some good exercise.

“Don’t forget, we still have things to talk about” Rosia said ominously. Right, what is the reason as to why some of our action paralleled. It’s something I have some idea over, and something I wish will be a book that will be quickly closed.
