A moonless night is the opportune time for the pirates to attack. Tonight, they hunt a lone merchant ship. They have been observing it days before at the port, hauling luxurious goods such as conflict elements, and Lipo-3, the fuel of the civilization.  The fleet of pirate ships stalked the merchant ship until midnight.  They silently scaled towards its hull using small and fast NemaShips. Deimos could not see shit out there in the dark midnight sky. Only the natural light from the trading ship serves as his signal as the pirates deployed a powerful jammer.

It should be right about now. He thought as the ship’s light flickers for a moment then completely vanish. The Argus, a sleek AssaultCorvette, moves forward with ferocious speed towards the surrounded ship in concert with allied ships prowling miles away. The NemaShips penetrates the merchant ship like worms burrowing unto wood, creeping inside the cabin expecting fat merchants and weary guards but instead they find elite killers in RhinoArmor.

The battle (massacre really) begun with the pirates caught off-guard. The lightly armored pirates were no match for the armored killers of the Blood Sharks, an elite force founded by Deimos. A pirate’s neck artery is cut open by a Shiv, a short beamsword, sizzling the blood. A veteran Blood Shark sliced open a pirate’s stomach, the intestines spilling out while others are hacked mercilessly. Another pirate group might cower and tuck tail but these are no ordinary pirates, they have pillaged these seas for generations. They fought back with demonic vigor as they saw no hope other than to fight to the death.

Then It boarded the ship.

A head taller than any of his companions. He observes before drawing his carbyne longsword, a LifeScalper. The pirates knew they will all die tonight. He moves with a graceful violence of a piranha. Everywhere he went heads roll and limbs parted, dissecting bodies with ease. The pirate tried to stab him in the back as he skewered his companion yet in the next moment his world turned upside down. He stopped rolling, shocked to see his headless body.  The last image he had in this world is the monster slicing his friends into pieces leaving a trail of bisected corpses in his wake.

The pirate leader crossed swords with Deimos. The pirate had risen to the top by being strong and ruthless than any of his underlings. Deimos killed him in two seconds with a stab through the heart yet the pirate didn’t die. The pirates face contorted into a hellish creature as the eyes hollowed like the abyss, a boneless mouth gaping wide.

The end is near, Liberator.

The creature says in garbled language. Deimos beheaded the creature. The head of the pirate rolled towards Deimos frozen in a dreadful scream.

The ambush on the pirates worked as intended. Using the galleon as bait, Deimos crushed the last major band of pirates that were terrorizing Numidican territory. He personally slew their many of their leaders and brought an end to their rein. He sent his dreaded Blood Sharks to hunt down he rest of the pirates that escaped or still hiding in their lair.

Deimos flicked his sword to clean the blood. He stood at the helm, looked into the distance, seeing the creeping darkness in the horizon.  He knows what is coming and he is powerless to stop it.
