‘Not too bad…’

Staring at the mirror in front of him, Chrome couldn’t help but smile as he scanned his reflection, the visual results really weren’t that bad at all…

Running his hand through his light blue hair, he examined his body details which indeed looked quite different when compared to his body two weeks ago. Although one wouldn’t notice these changes with his clothes on, Chrome was quite satisfied with the result so far!

Counting from the very first day he had started going to the gym, this was already the 13th day, he had just woken from his normal reality and took a quick shower to get ready for another training session, but before he started getting dressed, he was observing the improvement of his body.

While he didn’t get supremely fit with six-packs and densely packed muscles everywhere like Clarke, he could tell that he managed to lose most of the useless fat in his body as he reached the minimum requirement to be called ‘fit’ at the very least. The most important part was still undeniably his endurance which improved the most with the drilling training.

Putting on a casual set of clothes, As usual, Chrome didn’t exit the house just yet as he disappeared from where he was standing.

Appearing inside the throne room, Chrome headed directly to the desk beside the throne and opened the scroll as usual and took an overall look at it.

Unlike the first few days when he actually had to replenish his SRP by throwing the candy pieces into the cup of fire at the very start of the day, Chrome no longer even bothered to check the candy machine as he already had an abundance of his such points, so he just decided to keep the new pieces in their candy form in case he needed them later on.

Not pondering much further on the ‘Physical Status’ section which he already knew all of its changes due to his continuous stalking observation during his training, he immediately moved his eyes to the ‘Special Abilities’ one as he picked the ink pen from the desk, once again adding a ‘1’ to the side of the ‘+’.

This had already become his daily routine since the first day of his training, the enhancement did have a 24-hour cooldown so the earlier it was done, the better as it would in return produce more Energy Points with the increase of the Emission Rate.

However, unlike how it had been so far, this time something changed!

The usual faint expansive feeling that Chrome usually received with each enhancement, this time, he felt his Exos circulating through his body beyond his control before it suddenly calmed down once again, his eyes which were still laid at the ‘Special Ability’ section immediately noticed the change!

The whole [Basic Energy Emission] blurred for a few seconds, turning into a dry pool of ink before it rearranged itself back into the words that were familiar with his eyes, but it wasn’t exactly the same…

‘This is it!’

Ignoring the normal increase of one capacity point and 0.05 points of emission rate, the cooldown immediately caught Chrome’s attention.

It went down by 12 hours on one go!

‘It really is possible…’

The simple plus sign added to the ability name had simply somehow managed to chop the cooldown of the enhancement into half its original value, considering this new rate, reaching an Exos rating of 100 before admission no longer seemed like a dream to Chrome!

‘The cause of this…’

“Quill, is this [Basic Energy Body] what you meant by ‘the adaption of the body’ back then?”

Chrome had already expected the decrease of the cooldown since the floating quill had already mentioned that would eventually happen, he just didn’t expect it would be this fast.

[ Affirmative, as the energy storing ability of your body has reached the first small threshold, your body is now able to handle more frequent enhancing to it. ]

That quick circulation felt like nothing to Chrome, but it turned out that it was actually some sort of a sign to his body’s advancement as an Exos battery!

‘I’m on the right path.’ Chrome nodded as he took another look at the new cooldown...

After he had confirmed the legitimacy of the increase to his Intelligence and Perception stats in the normal reality, being capable of solving most equations including tricky ones at double the speed and even having a stronger hearing, Chrome’s view of this parallel world had completely changed.

Two weeks ago, his enthusiasm and drive for growing stronger in the parallel reality was just to give being an ‘Extraordinary’ a try for once, but now that he could really obtain benefits from there, it held a completely different meaning to it!

Even though the gains and benefits obtained seemed to be restricted, for now, it didn’t deny the possibility of such restrictions being lifted with time, even the enhancement limit had been increased in a matter of two weeks!

While this whole new realization didn’t actually affect Chrome’s plan for the parallel by much, it gave him even more hope and motivation to go on, after all, he was seeing the fruits of his effort day by day.

It may seem like the enhancing of his Exos rating wasn’t effort on his end but he treated it as such. In the end, this ‘Self-Reliance Palace’ was still his own ability, wasn’t it?

‘I should get going.’
