“Wow, and I thought we would be disappointed by our new contestants, but this was quite exciting!”, the announcer stretched himself, and sighed whilst leaning on his chair.

“You sound tired instead of excited.”, his right hand so to say, commented on his remark.

‘Even though you’re the most tired looking person here.’, he refrained from speaking out loud, knowing that it would lead to something unpleasant.

“Anyway, we’ve got another match to announce, and I need to get ready.”, he readied the microphone looking item.

“Every contestant gets around ten minutes to prepare themselves for the next match, that’s unexpectedly short…”, said the other announcer, his eyes almost closing down on themselves and his voice sounded heavy.

“Oi, oi, don’t fall asleep here.”, he shook his body to try and make him react. “If I don’t sleep, I won’t be able to assist you.”, his voice seemed extremely low, to the point where it could’ve been taken for a whisper.

The announcer sighed at the sight of his coworker. “Is this really what a ‘Knight of the Roundtable’ should look like?”, he commented on his actions.

“A knight of the roundtable is just a title, we really don’t do anything special, what I’m more surprised about is how you’re not like ‘Oh my god! It’s a knight of the roundtable, please give me an autograph!’.”

‘You’re still full of energy to make fun of me?!’, another dangerous thought crossed his mind.

“I was surprised to know a ‘Knight’ would be here, but making a scene about it isn’t really worth the trouble.”

“Ho? So your job to overreact things that are happening on the battlefield is a lie?”, he tempted him in a taunting voice.

“It’s not a lie, it’s just that seeing you personally made me disappointed.”, he answered in a flat voice, almost monotone voice.

“I see…”, a absolute silence was created between them, it was unthinkable considering their location.

“Let’s leave this conversation aside, I’m ready to greet the next contestants.”, he knew the suspense that was holding the people, thus returning to his job, he held the microphone, and clicked the switch.

“Let’s move onto the next round, shall we?”, upon the moment his voice was heard, the people began cheering excitedly, some screaming hysterically and others not.

“For the next match we have a B class adventurer against, unexpectedly a F class adventurer.”, he explained in further detail how the next match would proceed.

“Now, without a further ado, let’s introduce our next competitors!”, he rose the people’s expectations, and from below the arena, two people came to the field.

“We have on the right side of the arena, the B class adventurer Frederick. And on the other side we have the F class adventurer who pulled quite the stunt during the first challenge, ‘The Masked Swordsman’!”

The people seemed to recognize title, ‘The Masked Swordsman’. The impression left behind by the fiery phantom was huge to the point just mentioning its name one would recognize to whom they were mentioning.

And so the match began, the announcer sat back on his chair and watched the match despite his attention being drawn away almost immediately as he took a small snack to fight against his hunger.

“‘The Masked Swordsman’, aren’t you obligated to reveal your name during the registrations?”, asked the body next to the announcer, yes, that was the right description for what he looked like right now.

“Well yes, however there are no rules that forbid you to request for a name concealment.”, he explained as he took another small snack to his mouth.

“But, isn’t that like against the Guild…?”, his voice drowned in itself before he even finished rethinking what he just asked.

“The tournament is just ‘supported’ by the guild, they only have a handful of authority over it.”, a hand tried to reach the bowl of snacks, but the announcer slapped the hand in retaliation.

“And the person signed in with their real name, they just requested that in the case we would say it out loud, to answer with a different name.”, he said.

The knight held his head up, and caressed his slapped hand. “So they’re allowed to request any name that can be used?”

“Yes, as long as we have their actual information, what the public hears isn’t important.”

“Wouldn’t it be a problem if the person gains a ‘Title’?”, the announcer took a weighty sigh, he reached his hands to the small cabin and took out a sheet of paper. “Getting a title is a hard thing, just because you got named something once doesn’t mean that it’ll become your title.”

The titles system worked in a complicated manner, similarly like the Skill system.

For one to receive a title, certain ‘requirements’ must be filled in order for one to gain set title. An example would be a ‘Hero’, for one to be recognized as a hero, a large significant number of people must believe you to be a ‘Hero’ including people with high status and standing.

Your race, skills and other titles play a part in it too. It would be strange for a ‘Hero’ to be a Goblin, especially from a human point of view. And another skill needed to be a hero, would certainly be a ‘Divine Protection’ from a certain god.

“That’s why it’s the less likable case that it’ll receive a ‘Title’.”, he finished his explanation, the supposed knight who’s head was resting on the desk, let out a small laugh.

“Don’t you have a job to do?”, he reminded him in a smirking way, the announcer remembered one more part to his job he had forgotten for a split second, that could be said to have been a couple of minutes.

“Oh crap, I forgot!”, he grabbed the ‘Wind Attribute Magic’ item, that looked relatively close to a microphone, redirected his attention to the field and commenced commenting.

“Wait, WHAT!?!?”, the battlefield was covered in black and gray clouds of smoke, it was so thick it seemed like your lungs would be filled with the smallest breath.

“Wha—! I can’t see anything what is happening?!”, he was surprised by the sudden transformation of the battlefield, his attention was drawn away for a couple of minutes, but it was unthinkable for this scene to play out before him, much less expecting from their classes.

Flashes of red and blue light spurted from within the smoke, like a fight between good and evil, but the circumstances behind this fight wasn’t really meant for that sort of predicament.

From within the smoke a figure was thrown out like a bullet shot from a weapon. It was a cloaked person with a mask, holding a glowing red sword.

Soon from within the smoke, another figure came out charging with a huge claymore in hand.

“Khh!”, the cloaked person struggled to keep the blade around the same size as it’s body back. Drops of sweat rolled down from below its mask, and it’s feet green led the more strength was being put behind the claymore.

The cloaked figure, shoved the claymore to the side with its sword and slashed in his way.

By a hairs breadth, he dodged the burning red sword and readied himself by holding a defensive stance.

The two of them didn’t spare a single moment to look away, their attentions were drawn to their body movements and weapons.

Their breathings were ragged, both were equally exhausted despite the small amount of time that had passed.

“Haa…”, the cloaked person took a second to breath in, and out. “‘Increased Sword Strength’”, a simple yet effective sword skill activated to increase the wearers strength when using a sword.

It charged ahead, the adventurer known as Frederick took the attack head on. “‘Blue Thunder’!”, his sword glowed in a bluish light, small sparks of electricity coated themselves around the sword.

They clashed their swords, the high pitch noise produced by the impact between the two blades rang throughout the stadium, the air vibrated and sparks of red and blue light filled the air surrounding them.

They separated their blades from each other, the cloaked figure extended its hand towards Frederick, a small murmur could be heard behind the mask.

“‘Flamethrower’.”, a torrent of fire engulfed the adventurer, before he could react in defense.

“Is it possible?! That the match is already over?!?!”, the people looked closely towards the arena, waiting for the dust clouds to disappear.

From within the smoke, a figure stood tall and fell to the ground as if the strings were cut from a puppet.

“The opponent Frederick is incapacitated, the winner is ‘The Masked Swordsman’, you’ll move on to the next match!”, despite the unexpected turn of events, the people cheered once again, people screamed out the title of the winner.

“Ugh…”, the cloaked figure fell to its trembling knees, many reasons could be behind it, lack of mana, exhaustion, or maybe even something else.

The figure walked towards the gates leading to the waiting room, with every step its breathing grew harder.

The moment it entered the room, it immediately fell to the ground. Using what little remained of its strength, it turned around, staring at the ceiling.

“Just a little bit more…”, a soft yet friendly voice came behind the mask.

Skill Explanation: Magic Resistance

This skill increases ones resistance towards anything containing mana. Spells that work like debuffs get less effects, and physical spells like ‘Water Blade’ or ‘Wind Blade’ get less damage from you.

This skill can be acquired by anyone. However, the process of gaining it cannot be said to be ‘safe’ by the guilds terms, one would have to either get affected by low-level spells of all attributes that can barely induce any effects. Or get a job that provides set skill.

There are some races that are born with ‘Magic Resistance’, an example would be a vampire that are known for having high resistance against magic, or Dragons whose scales barely take any damage from magic. That is why the guild requested for one to dismantle the monster to use its resources for magic items or armor.

Happy 69th chapter, I apologize for the late chapter, I realized that for me to upload a chapter well made, I need to not think about uploading at all, which concerns me a little. Every chapter I feel like I'm always forgetting what happens in the chapter, like I know what will happen in hte chapter, but I'm not really sure if I structured it correctly.

I finally got a 5* character after my 90th pull, I got Qiqi. She's amazing, she heals depending on how much damage she deals, if I got it correctly. I still want Klee, I'm not kidding. I want her badly after I watched a subreddit full of fanarts about her and funny memes.

Nevertheless, I hope all of you enjoyed this chap!
