We arrive at the nearest village around noon. Neither of us slept at all, we just kept running the whole time. But since I left in a hurry, I didn't bring any money with me. If Gerald had any money, then he probably wouldn't have been dying on the streets.

 

In other words, we're broke.

 

Piss poor.

 

Not a cent to our name in this world where we need to pay a fortune just to sleep in a bed.

 

Seriously, I'm so tired, but I have no way to sleep. I can't afford an inn, and I don't know anyone here I can stay with. 

 

Just as I'm starting to panic for who knows what time in the past 24 hours, a shadow crosses my vision.
