"I see. I guess it’s never too early to prepare,” Ye Hao agreed after a while, but his face suddenly blushed a bit before asking, his eyes unable to look her directly in the face, “Uhm, seeing that you’re here...do you have any free time to help me out with something?

"Depends on what it is." Li Qianqian rubbed her slender fingers across her chin.

"Can you teach me some topics I don’t understand? You’re most fluent in your foundations so I need some help in completely learning some fundamental topics" Ye Hao proposed with a little embarrassment.

"Hmm...okay then!" Li Qianqian nodded and smiled sweetly, "But where do we meet up?"

"There is a KFC nearby. What do you think?" Ye Hao thought for a while before suggesting.

"That’s fine, but when would that be?"

"Teach me for half-an-hour every night. How does that sound?" Ye Hao originally wanted an hour, but he reduced it by half in consideration for Li Qianqian’s safety while returning home.

"Two hours it is then!" Li Qianqian nodded.

"Ye— wait, isn’t that too much?!" Ye Hao nearly choked on his words.

Since when did I say two hours? This girl…

“Won’t your parents feel worried?” He looked at her with a troubled look.

"Do you want me to teach you or not?” Li Qianqian waved her hand impatiently, "Be there for six-o-clock tonight. Well, I’m heading home for dinner.

Li Qianqian turned on her heels to leave without giving Ye Hao the opportunity to refuse.

Ye Hao stared at her petite back as she gradually disappeared down the street and amidst the crowd of people.

"Could it be that Li Qianqian likes me?" Ye Hao couldn’t help but harbor such lavish thoughts.

But Ye Hao soon shook himself free from such an absurd notion, "How could an exceptional beauty such as her like someone as ordinary as me?

Although my body has transformed, I’m still nothing special yet. I cannot afford to get complacent.

"Young man, work hard!" Ye Hao’s inner consciousness consolidated his determination.

When Ye Hao returned home, he unexpectedly found that his parents were waiting for his arrival.

"Little Hao, come here, I have something to discuss with you." Ye Zhiguo called over.

Ye Hao looked at his father with some misgivings but he still sat on the chair obediently, "Dad, what are you going to tell me?"

"Son, did you save Li Qianqian three days ago?" Ye Zhiguo stared fixedly at Ye Hao.

"Yes." There was no shame in denying such an accomplishment.

"Isn’t your guts a little too big? Not even a whale has bigger guts than yours." Ye Zhiguo’s voice couldn’t help but deepen upon hearing this.

"Dad, I know it was a dangerous thing to do, but as a man, I couldn’t just leave her in such a predicament." Ye Hao said with a firm attitude.

Ye Zhiguo’s voice softened a bit when he heard this but his countenance was still dark, "Do you know who was hurt by you?"

"Who?"

"Bai Si Jiangnan, the leader of a small gang in the city," Ye Zhiguo said in a grave tone, "After Li Qianqian came home, her father called the police. When they arrived, they were able to easily subdue the barely conscious Bai Si."

"He was unconscious for so long?" Ye Hao froze.

"Well, Bai Si was giddy for almost a day before coming back to his senses. The doctor diagnosed him with a slight concussion." Ye Zhiguo glanced at his thin-looking son with wonder before asking, "Since when were you so powerful?"

"This—" Ye Hao scratched his head and wasn’t sure how to reply.

"Sigh, just make sure to avoid such trouble in the future, both for your sake and ours. Is that clear?" Ye Zhiguo warned.

"I know." Ye Hao nodded obediently.

"Okay, don't reprimand Little Hao anymore." Guo Xiu interjected suddenly, "Son, how was the test this time in your opinion?"

"It went great."

"The score...?"

"About seven hundred points." Ye Hao replied candidly.

"What? Repeat that for me." Guo Xiu’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"About seven hundred points." Ye Hao repeated.

Guo Xiu's face became serious, "Little Hao, it's not impossible for you to get a high score, but this is a little too hard to believe. Are you sure that you calculated the score right?"

Ye Hao stared hard at his mother, "Maa~, I'm not stupid. What are you saying? Don’t you have to put out your best efforts and show your capabilities in preparation for the college examinations?"

"But that still wouldn’t explain your sudden seven hundred points, right?" Guo Xiu looked uncertain.

"Mom, didn't you see me studying attentively both day and night?" Ye Hao laughed proudly, "How can such hard work not pay off?"

"Still, improving all at once is too unbelievable."

"Believe in me. This just comes to show that your son is an absolute genius. It’s just that he has been neglecting his studies for all these years.

......

Ye Hao went straight to a closeby lottery shop with fifty yuan a little before his agreed meetup time with Li Qianqian.

Li Qianqian would be lecturing him for two hours straight. Because he had some conscience, he would definitely treat her to a meal for her hard work.

But Ye Hao really didn't have much money. Therefore, he needed to earn a quick buck to facilitate his expenses.

After arriving at the lottery shop, Ye Hao took a stack of scratch cards before quickly looking through them.

Ye Hao knew that his perspective eyes’ ability was time-limited, so he needed to work his magic quickly.

Skipping through, he only found a single card worth fifty yuan and unhesitatingly threw it to the side.

It could be said that his luck today was pretty bad. Ye Hao did not find any cards worth more than a hundred, even after looking through five stacks.

This caused Ye Hao to feel a little pressured.

What will I use to buy food for us later if this keeps up? My perspective eyes’ ability is almost at its limit.

Ye Hao blew on his fingers and speedily grabbed another stack.

When he saw the twelfth card, Ye Hao’s eyes seemed to shine with extraordinary splendor.

Three thousand!

Ye Hao didn't expect to suddenly be lucky again.

This stack came at the right time.

Ye Hao closed his weary eyes tiredly before heaving an inward sigh.

"Boss, I want this one here." Ye Hao handed the boss his money.

After the boss took the money, he smiled and asked, "Do you think you’ll win big this time?"

"I will definitely win." Ye Hao said confidently.

The boss chuckled to himself.

Haha, this kid...too naíve. If just anyone could win with confidence, the General Administration of Sports would’ve long been closed.

"What am I talking so much for?" Ye Hao said excitedly before scraping the tint layer.

The boss could see that Ye Hao caught a big one just by looking at his facial expression. He looked surprised, "Hey kid, how much did you win?"

"How much can you exchange for?" Ye Hao questioned back, his face beaming.

"It can be exchanged here as long as it’s under ten thousand." The boss replied as he stepped forward.

When he saw the number on the card, he felt like a lump was stuck in his throat, "Three thousand?!"

The boss’s words made the people who were previously busy buying lottery look over. After realizing the situation, their gazes were filled with envy.

Before giving Ye Hao the reward, the boss made sure that the ticket was legit. But everything turned out smoothly.

"Boss, thank you. See you next time." Ye Hao waved politely before departing.

Would he actually come back again? The answer was obviously ‘no’.

If he were to return and suddenly hit the jackpot again, misgivings would naturally be formed.

Ye Hao saw a girl clad in white standing at the entrance of KFC. She stood there quietly, just like a solitary and independent snow fairy.

"Ye Hao." Li Qianqian flashed a smile and greeted.

"Sorry I made you wait for so long." Ye Hao scratched his nose guiltily.

"It’s fine; I just came too," Li Qianqian shook her head, "Let’s hurry and go inside. It’s a little cold tonight.”

The two chose a table by the window before sitting down facing each other.

Ye Hao asked, “What are you going to drink?"

"Coke."

Ye Hao got up and ordered two glasses for their table before returning to his seat.

"Because my mathematical foundation is not good, let's start from the first year of high school." Ye Hao's words startled Li Qianqian for a good while

He must be joking, right? What time is it now? Less than two months away from the college entrance examinations! But Ye Hao is going to start learning from first grade now?

However, she didn’t speak out her thoughts. If anything, she got more serious as she assured, "Well, ask me anything you don’t understand."

The most important thing in mathematically-involved subjects was the foundation.

That was why Ye Hao couldn’t study as fast in the first half-a-month; his foundations were lacking.

Ye Hao memorized information very quickly so he could remember every question and answer discussed between himself and Li Qianqian.

Ye Hao finished his list of questions about high school mathematics in only two hours. Of course, this kind of learning was at most only textbook knowledge. He had yet to fully practice and integrate this newly acquired knowledge.
